Better Off This Way

I walked up the stairs and into the bedroom. Neil was sitting against the headboard and typing furiously on his phone. My body weight leaned into the door frame as I admired his concentrated face. He looked up from his phone for a brief moment and looked back down until he realized that I was standing in the doorway. He set his phone down and made grabby hands at me.

“Come join me,” he whined.

“Fine you big baby.” I rolled my eyes and made my way onto the bed. I crawled into his arms and lay my head on his chest.

“Are you going to join us on tour?” He played with my curly hair.

“I don’t know, maybe I can work something out with my boss.” I shrugged.

“Oh yeah, you can always do a band story about us or one of the other bands.” He rested his chin on my shoulder.

“I think I’ll do a story on you so I can stay on your bus.” I told him.

“Good,” he started to rub my thigh, “I always miss you when I go on tour.”
