@BreaClift.
I have no idea how I would continue this story. It's been awhile. I know who the baby's father is. I could tell you, or leave you to make up your own decision ;)

I completely agree with Shay-Clark & I do hope that you continue with the story. There are so many questions that I want to know the answers too. I especially want to know who the babies father is.

@Shay-Clark-
I'm glad you found this as well, especially if you like it :D
So many people get caught up in the euphoria of a physical relationship, especially when reading about it. But it most definitely isn't the only thing needed in a relationship. Also, I just wanted to go against the usual plot line of having an affair and falling in love with the person you're cheating with. I've read those too often xD

Woah this ending! I didn't expect it, but I love it. Though Alex and Paisley had sexual chemistry, that doesn't make a relationship. Jack and Paisley's relationship was real and based on mutual respect and love. I think having them be end game was a good call.
I'm really glad that she got the career she dreamed of, even if it wasn't in the way she wanted. And she got to rub her marriage in Alex's nose, which is honestly what he deserved lol. I am so glad I found this story. It was a rollercoaster ride XD

@Nanook
Well, contracts aren't that easy to get out of. Also, just like ATL and Dirty Work, they also didn't really like what they were doing (though we can agree it's not half that bad), but they believed they were doing the right thing. It's such a difficult thing. On one hand, it doesn't feel right, but on the other you want to believe that the record label knows what it's doing.
Spoiler alert for that one-shot: it's not actually about a wedding ;)

LMAO. XD She is a bit stereotypical; a filler character, if you will. Hahahaha... yessss, and I hope he knows she's not as good too. ;)
Hmm... it is still a bit sad how she's going along with it, though. Idk, I just didn't expect that for her character. I mean, she did express the dislike, yeah, but... she's still doing it. Which surprises me considering throughout the story, we learned she wasn't going to take Alex's games. But idk, maybe this is different since it relates to her career more, like a career she has wanted.
And haha, okay. Don't expect the expected with your stories, always. XD :P

@Nanook
I barely even added this new girl in the chapter and I hate her myself xD She only says a few things, but she's so annoying. Although I never really thought about her as a character, I believe she's one of those girls who thinks she's amazing and better than everyone else because she's dating an older good looking rich guy. Like, she's not as 'down to earth' (I hate that phrase). So, yes, of course William can sense that and of course Alex has downgraded.
The main things I needed to tell you in this epilogue was who the father was and what happened to Paisley career. I just needed to add some other stuff to make it more interesting ;)
Oh, it's definitely superficial. Superficial all over the place. Paisley even said she didn't really want the specific look they were giving her, she says they 'caked' the makeup on her face, and the 'crunchy' hairspray. But what else could be expected? With the money Alex earned, he had to work for a big label. They care about the looks, and if they can sing, that's great. A singer-songwriter isn't exactly what they look for.
He also couldn't sue her because he needed to be cool with her in the epilogue, not mad ;)
Don't worry about not getting to my other story, I haven't even started writing for it again. But thanks for reminding me that that's now on my list.
As for that one-shot... you know how I love tricking people ;) I won't spoil anything for you although I really want to. It's quite long, around 9000 words, so you might either want to take some time or split it up into sections if you want to read it. I'm not forcing you to.
As I said in a reply to somebody else, this is the first story where I don't feel the need to write a sequel, and it's actually quite nice.

Ha ha ha. XD
Oh my, this epilogue. XD The bittersweetness... is real. But I still loved it and laughed when half of the stuff got thrown in Alex's face, OMG. XD
LMAO, douchebag Alex, going for the next best thing. Everyone knows that girl will never measure up to Paisley. ;) lol. I found this portrayal of him in this chapter interesting, though; you actually got me more fully on Jack and Paisley's side now, so kudos. XD After that move, man.
Literally laughed out loud when Will said he liked Paisley better LMAO. XD See, Alex downgraded. ;)
Hmm... okay, I'm more convinced the baby is Jack's now, and you definitely clarified most of the things I was wondering. So thank you for writing an epilogue. :)
The only thing I'm annoyed with now is... how superficial it all seemed, her look for her album cover and all. But, hey, I guess that's the business, right? But I was kind of disappointed in Paisley for that, is that weird? Like, this look didn't feel like her at all, but she's going with it. Ah, well, whatever pays the bills. XD
Hmm... still things to point out XD :
The couple in front of us snapped their eyes in his direction, cause Jack to rub his nose as if he was just about to sneeze.
*causing? I think. lol.
“I must actually thank you. You’ve thought Paisley quite a few interesting things.”
Thinking "thought" should be "taught" here, lol.
Now for your last comment back... whew, did you enjoy my comment? lol. It took me like an hour to write. XD
I laughed when you said Americans sue each other for everything! XD It's SO TRUE THOUGH. That's why I found it odd that he didn't/wouldn't pursue with something like that. XD I mean, you can't blame me LMAO.
Haha, again, I love how you made Alex "move on" so to speak. And you made him come into contact with her again, haha, yessss. XD I knew she couldn't avoid him. XD
Sigh, so... even though she didn't end up with who I wanted, XD, I quite enjoyed the ending of this story (sorry, I feel like I'm not responding to a lot of what you said, but I feel like it was either clarified in the epilogue or just a bit pointless to bring up again XD).
Apologies for not getting to your other story yet. I kind of have a list going, but I promise it's on it. I also haven't had much time. XD So, there's that. XD
Hmm... the one-shot I think I also have on my list to read. Sorry I haven't gotten to that yet; I definitely saw how you put about it in your author's notes, though, so I will work on checking that out as well. I checked out the summary page though... not sure what to expect since it's a wedding theme, like I automatically thought cliche and was like... am I looking at the same author here? XD Hmmm....
Yay to the epilogue! Great job with it! I'm sad that this story is officially over. :( Ah well, had to happen at some point. That you for giving us one more taste, pun intended, lol.

@Newyork_xo
A relationship with Alex would have been too superficial, Jack and Paisley together just makes sense. And of course we also needed some confident Jack in there!

I think Alex might be going through an early mid-life crisis xD At least he wasn't super jealous and mad anymore, right? And poor William is too innocent to understand what happened between his father and Paisley... and now he's got to endure Alex's public relationship with the new nanny.

I don't think I'll ever write a sequel for this, unfortunately. This is the first story I wrote that has an ending I actually like and don't feel the need to write more for. Also Paisley >> New Nanny, so I'm never going to be writing a sequel without my favorite character either. But I still have other Alex-based stories right now, so it should be all good.

Thank you for giving us more answers!
I’m happy to see Jack and Paisley lived happily ever after with Felix. This ending made me more confident Jack was the right choice for her. I enjoyed Jack straight up telling Alex he didn’t like him. Go Jack!

It kind of made me sad to see that Alex had fallen into the same routine with the new Nanny. I get the feeling that he’s afraid to be alone. But I was happy to see the sweet reunion with Paisley and William.

Still sad sad to see this one end. :( Maybe you will be inspired to start a new story chronicaling Alex and his new Nanny!

@Newyork_xo
Holy shit, this is a long list. I'll try to reply to all the points in list form as well.
1. I guess the epilogues going to have to happen now
2. I'm glad too although I do wonder if he would have gotten less mad if she didn't tell him. Maybe it would have been worse?
3/4. Cute and creepy. Cute because he saw a future for them, creepy because it was so specific. Maybe it was his plan all along to get her pregnant?
5. A jealous crazy bastard.
6. That's what Rian said at least. Although Alex should have known that he had to be careful and not fall to hard too quickly.
7. People do go crazy for love... he was just trying to find something that would make her stay.
8. I don't think he could ever sweet talk her into staying. She was never going to. He probably could have gotten her to sleep with him if he used the right words, though. But he was too focused on love and staying.
9. I feel like words say a lot more than physical violence. Plus, she was too upset to hit him. If it was only pure rage, then it might have happened.
10. He'll have to figure something out. He got a nanny before (that nanny being Paisley), I'm sure he'll find another. As for Paisley saying goodbye to William... that might come in the epilogue
11. We'll have to see if he really is that petty
12. She was going to, but couldn't. Alex left her too shaken up and she felt too guilty.
13. Totally agree on that. He's being stupid as fuck. He always sees the good in people, he doesn't want to lose the girl he's been in love with since he was 15-16. I feel like he's the one in denial.
14. That is a very interesting question... Not sure if Jack would ask that, though. I'm pretty sure that isn't exactly what goes through you mind when you first find out, unless you feel used. And Jack definitely also wanted to have sex.
15-16. That plays into the whole 'denial' again. Right now he can still believe it's his baby. Although he said he would always be there, it certainly does hurt if he finds out it isn't his. Guess you'll have to find out more about it in the epilogue ;)
17. Alex would beat Jack in no time. We all know that.
18. Definitely also does show that, but most thing important for Paisley's relationship with Jack happened in their own kitchen as well.
19. Alex is a self-centered asshole who knows (or at least thinks) he is the best. But he must have some insecurity if he always calls Jack names.
23. Thanks. I'm going to continue Rumours Ruin Reputations after I write the epilogue for this one. So go check that out if you haven't already.

@Kurrsteee;
I guess you interpreted all my signals correctly then ;)

Oh girl. Okay. Here we go. I have a lot of conflicting feelings in regards to this last chapter so bare with me while I unleash.
1. I’ll get this out first - yes for the epilogue
2. I’m really glad she told Alex the truth.
3. It was cute when Alex immediately thought the baby was his and started planning what the nursery would look like.
4. It was also sort of creepy how quickly he came up with the color scheme - as if it was something he thought about before (see, conflicting thoughts...)
5. Alex’s blind rage when she admitted to sleeping with Jack was entertaining. He’s a crazy bastard!
6. Alex also loves Paisley and I assume hasn’t loved someone since his wife died, so I also kind of feel bad for him. (#confliction)
7.Alex was an Uber dick when he tried to scare and manipulate her into staying with him and offering her all the fancy stuff Jack can’t give her. Pretentious tool!
8. I’m glad she stayed strong and high tailed it out of there before he could sweet talk her into staying.
9. She should have slapped him.
10. Who’s going to care for William now when Alex has to work? Will he hire a new, young nanny to replace Paisley right away? Will he play the same game with her?? Does Paisley get to say goodbye to William??
11. Alex better not attempt to sabotage her music career in any way.
12. After she broke it off with Alex, I thought she was going to go back to Jack and just pretend nothing ever happened. Psh, I was wrong.
13. Jack forgave her too quickly and too easily. He’s an idiot. I know you seem to have portrayed him as this super sweet, caring and understanding guy but I feel like even the sweetest, most caring and understanding guy is going to get PISSSEDDD when his fiancé admits she was screwing some other guy - especially when they were both supposed to wait.
14. I wanted Jack to ask her if her relationship with Alex is what inspired her to start having sex with him, breaking their pact to wait until marriage.
15. He also should have demanded a paternity test. Again, idiot.
16. BUTTTT it does prove how he truly does love her that even after her being a complete garbage person of a fiancé, Jack still wants to marry her and raise the baby with her.
17. I kind of would like to see a throw down between Jack and Alex.
18. I noticed a lot happened in the kitchen too. I associated it as being a sort of spontaneous place in reference to the spontaneity of Alex and Paisley shenanigans.
19. I’m sort of disappointed neither boy, being immature, silly boys, demanded to know which of the two was better. (I also based on skill and experience it would be Alex)
20. Damn, 20 already!?
21. I think I’ve made all the points I wanted to.
22. To reiterate: yes epilogue, yes more action, yes more answers.
23. Great story. Enjoyed trying to figure out what I thought/wanted to happen as we went through. Can’t wait to see what else you might have in store for this or any other story.

@aweirdkindofyellow
Yeah, I know what you mean! But no it came off natural.
also, it was more a vibe. I don't know how obvious it was, but I had a vibe nearly straight away and when she gave him the ring and he just looked at it, that's when I knew 100%. Well, 90%, you throw lots of spanners in the works.

settle for me. settle for me.

@Kurrsteee;
At least you realized it wasn't just me running out of locations xD There are so many fanfics that always have people watching the TV before anything happens. I get it's a very neutral thing to do, but it makes it seem like they always watch TV xD I didn't want everybody thinking I was doing something like that.
You knew? Did I make it that obvious in the chapter? Not that it's a bad thing, because it is the ending.
Now I have another vote for an epilogue. I've got a feeling I can't escape this story just yet xD

I did notice the kitchen thing, but I just imagined it as this big central, family place. It's not hugely out of the ordinary, so I didn't question it! :')
Also, as soon as she came in crying I knew Jack wasn't leaving, even if I'd doubted it until then! Ugh. I loved this though. So please do give me loads of answers with an epilogue!

settle for me. settle for me.

@Nanook
Holy shit this is a long comment and it's going to take me ages to reply. (I'm pretty sure I won't finish in time for me to go to school. Let's see the time I started was at 7:40 am and I finished at 10:20 am that does mean I had to go to school in between)
I do feel like Jack's a little naive right now. The affair was spread over around 6 months, that's a shit load of time, and he's still okay with it. Now to annoy you even more with my ending, maybe there's a reason why his so 'cool' with it? Maybe he had been cheating as well???!!! WHAT THEN??!?!?!?
Now your wondering things. I'll number them as well.
1) I forgot people in America practically sue each other over everything xD That never even crossed my mind. But I'm not sure about him doing anything. He seems so certain that Paisley will come back that if she never does, it will just ruin his entire ego and deflate him completely to the point he doesn't want anything to do with her anymore.
2) Yeah, a shit load can happen with her record deal. At least she said no to Alex when he directly offered, or she would have been in some deep shit if he wanted to get back at her. I could totally make a sequel... if I wanted to. I feel like turning this into the generic rom-com plot where one guy fucked up and wants to get back at the girl (or the other way around) just doesn't fit with this story. Totally up for you to make it though ;)
3) Definitely realistic for a toxic relationship, but it doesn't seem like they were in one. But maybe that changes from now on?
I mean, I did say who Paisley though the father was. You know what they say, often a mother's instinct is right. I have a feeling I need to put a definite end to that by writing an epilogue. So, for your later worry, it isn't all that ambiguous. I guess the only thing that would be left out is that whole idea you had with Alex being super jealous. Also, I feel like it would be quite a short epilogue, not like my 'usual' long ones.
Those mistakes, though xD I definitely had corrected some of those. When I nearly finished editing, I accidentally removed a sentence and automatically hit 'command z'... not a great idea on this website (which I know and have done other times as well). What it does is it removed everything in the text box because the 'last' action was me pasting the chapter in it. And then you can't get it back. Not even with the trusty redo button. So... I had to restart and totally did skip over some of it xD
As for Paisley being so stupid for not thinking of Alex as maybe being the father, I actually understand it. Obviously she knew that it was possible, I'm pretty sure most people know how unprotected sex works. But she most definitely was in denial. She had already made her choice, wanting to be with Jack, even though she was so unsure when she found out she was pregnant (the reason being their low incomes and it possibly hindering Paisley's career, meaning even more financial problems). So, if Alex was the father, then it brings complications to her relationship with Jack. It would be pretty suspicious if some blonde kid suddeny popped out xD At least now Jack can prepare for that possibility, though. Anyway, my point is that she wanted the perfect life with Jack even though that would never be possible.
You can already feel that Alex was going to be a fling from the beginning. It was nothing but excitement and sexual attraction from Paisley's part. Always being the good girl makes you want to do something bad.
Tell me your honest opinion when you read that other story. I'll understand if you don't want to continue reading it, but I will most definitely miss those comments. As for the views, not all of my most recent stories get many views xD I recently wrote a one-shot that's been practically ignored by everyone. The only way I can really get my stories to be read is through my loyal following (aka you) by hyping them up for weeks and then posting a new story. Didn't do that with the one-shot. But now I know the strategy, I guess ;)
I'm going to wait for a few more reactions before I decide to do the epilogue or not. If more people are annoyed and want to know more, then I'll definitely write it. If they all think this is the right place to end... then I guess you'll never know ;P
