The Experts Say I'm Delirious

“You’re the same girl as the one that I helped?”

“Happy birthday, baby girl!” my father said as I made my way down the stairs. “We have something planned for you. You’re going to love it!”
“That’s right,” my mother agreed. “Eat your breakfast before we leave.”
“Where are we going?” my little brother, Daren, that was 8 asked.
“You’re not going to find out ‘til I find out,” I told him as I sat down and started to eat my pancakes. “I can already tell that this day is going to be the best birthday. You made my favorite, pancakes!”
When I finished eating, I walked upstairs and put on my favorite sky blue tank top and blue jeans. I couldn’t wait to see where we were going? The excitement was running through my veins. This was going to be the best day ever. I could feel it.
I made my way down the stairs and out the door. My parents were attaching the boat to the back of the minivan. We were going to go boating at the beach! I loved the ocean, and I had been begging for them to take me boating.
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” I exclaimed as I ran over and gave my dad a hug.
“That’s not all,” he smiled. “You’ll see when we get there.”
“I can’t wait.”
I got into the car, and we started off to the ocean. There, Mother and Father got the boat in the ocean and then took something out of the truck. It was a canvas and paint. I couldn’t believe that they got this for me. The four of us got into the boat, and we went off more into the beautiful liquid.
“Do you like your present?” Father asked.
I nodded. “This is the best present ever!”
“I hope we can think of a better one for next year,” Mother laughed.
I smiled as I started to paint the image in front of me. The water was very calm, and the way the sun was reflecting the ocean was stunning. This was going to be my best work yet.
“The ocean seems to calm,” Father commented. “Maybe we should go back. We can come back tomorrow.”
“Why?” I questioned. “I’m almost done.”
“I just have a bad feeling.”
“You just need to loosen up!”
“Maybe you’re right.”
This was truly my masterpiece. Every single color was spot on. I was so proud of myself. I didn’t even know if I could make something as good as this one was.
As soon as I finished, dark clouds started to change the scene. We started to get inland, but it was too late. The wind started to blow, and the rain came down hard. We hung on for dear life. I closed my eyes.
When I opened them, a teenage boy was looking down at me. His lips were moving, but no sound came out. I tried to lift my body, but I just ended up falling back down. My balance was gone. Why couldn’t I hear what he was saying? Why was my balance gone? I put my hand on the back of my head. There was blood. Why was there blood? What happened?
The boy tried to comfort me by pulling me into his arms. They were warm compared to my cold wet body. I looked into his big dark brown eyes. He was rather cute even though his nose and eyebrows were large. It suited him though. He kind of looked like a plushie.
“My name is Alesia,” I told him, “but you can call my Ally.” I couldn’t tell what he said, but it looked like it started with a “J”. My eyes slipped shut again, and I was out like a light.
The next thing I knew was that I was in a hospital, and the boy was at my side. He hadn’t left me. When he saw that I was awake, he took my hand in his and moved his mouth slowly. Being an artist, I always took notice to things, so it wasn’t that hard to make out what he was saying.
“You’re deaf now. You hit your head.”
I was deaf? I was never going to hear again? I couldn’t believe it.
“What about my parents? What about my brother?”
His eyes filled with sadness. “I’m sorry.”
“I don’t understand.”
“They’re gone.”
“What do you mean ‘they’re gone?”
“They… they’re dead.”
I sat up. “No! They can’t be dead! This was supposed to be the best birthday ever!”
“I’m so sorry.”
I couldn’t believe that they were gone. It was my entire fault. I was the one that wanted to stay at sea even though my father wanted to go back. If I had listened, they would be still alive. That was the moment that I created my new personalities. This boy would be the last to see me as the real Alesia. I was going to hide in my own mind. Maybe I wouldn’t be so upset after I did this.
I kept them. I never let them go. Every single therapist I saw told me to let them go, but I refused. They made me feel better. As long as I had them, I was content, well, to a point. I lived with my grandparents until I turned 18. In that time, I learned sign language and mastered the art of lip reading. My life was nowhere near the same, but I was determined to make it work.
When I did turn 18, I signed myself into a mental hospital. I didn’t want my grandparents to have to take care of me forever, and there was no way that I could take care of myself. Almost two years had passed when my life changed again. Now here I am, sitting on this bed, telling my story.

~
“You said that a boy found you at the beach and was there when you went to the hospital?” Jack questioned. Alesia nodded. Jack’s eyes widened. “You’re the same girl as the one that I helped?”
“What do you mean?”
“When I was younger, I found a girl on the beach. My sister went and got help while I stayed by her side. I didn’t leave her side until her grandparents came to the hospital. She had hit her head which caused her to become deaf.” He grabbed his boxers off the floor, put them on, and then made his way out the door. When he came back, he had a picture in his hand. “This is a picture of me the same year that I found that girl.”
“That’s the same boy. You’re the same boy that saved me.”
Jack sat down on the bed again. “I never thought I would see you again.”
“I never thought that I would see you again. I’m happy I did though. You brought me out of my mind even though it was only to tell you this story.”
“What do you mean?”
“I can’t let Ally and Echo go just yet. Now that I have you again, I will one day. I can’t yet though. I hope you understand.”
“Don’t worry. I do.”
“Did you know that I would give anything to hear your voice?” She put her hand on his cheek. “I’ll see you again soon. I’m not going to hide anymore. When I want out, I’ll take control. Is that ok?” He nodded. “Good. I really like you. I hope that we can make this work.”
“I know we can, so will you be my girlfriend?”
She pressed her lips to his. “Of course.”

Yep. I made the fist chapter 12 pages because I'm adding a bunch of stuff. The second is 10, but it's not the second chapter of this story. It's actually her just getting her stuff and having the guy character (his name is Elijah) driving her to his place. I did the same with another one that I started writing, but I haven't finished the finally copy yet. The rough draft has been done, but I only have four and a half chapters done because I'm adding more stuff.
The main difference would be that they do call her Aly in the begining because I found a way to work with it and the chapter where Alesia reveals herself, she has nightmares, and Elijah has a backstory that is also going to be a book. That, and I don't know what to call it yet because it will have a different name.
I'm happy you like this though! :) :) :)
And that's cool about your friend!

@QueenDes that's awesome! One of my friends wrote a book based in her favourite characters and people and we ended up publishing it for her birthday. And if it's a book, it means lots of chapters ;)

Thanks. I forgot to mention when I updated the sequel, but I'm actually turning this into a book that's not a fanfiction (obviously). You're the first to know on here. :)
But thank you. This is my favorite of all of my stories, and it makes me feel awesome when I get comments on it. :) :) :)

Love it, only 1/2 way though at the moment but steaming through it.
@Caletitah
Thanks! I might start writing the first chapter tonight. I just realized that I have two stories that are late, so I might write it tomorrow.
