I know, but for this string of chapters, he has been an asshole. Not entirely deliberately, but definitely an asshole.
Also, it is a nickname that I am just now realising I cut the explanation for in Don't Make This Easy. There was a whole thing explaining it and I totally left it out. Whoops.

You're not making me like Alex any more. Something tells me Marissa is just going to make things worse. And looking at the other comments, @Newyork_xo and I are looking at it from opposite perspectives again.
Also, unsure if you really mind, but you referred to Marissa as Maria at one point in this chapter. Maybe it's just a nickname I don't know about? Or maybe it was just a typo.

Marissa is definitely the only grown up in this entire group. If she can't make sense of it, no one can.

Ugh. Well at least Marissa’s there. Hopefully she make some sense of this mess.

Also, I can’t imagine her and Jack will be happy to find out she’s been lying about the actual status of her relationship with John. :(

I don't consider it a type until it's been more than two people. Two people is a coincidence. Now, if she had dated multiple people fitting that description, then it's definitely a type. Otherwise it's just making a very big assumption.
I do feel like Alex should be able to do what he wants. But he didn't walk away either. He purposely continued to stand there, claiming nothing was going on and then getting Holly mad. Sure, she got mad at him first. But she also thought she had finally made a friend, just to find out she wanted to sleep with the lead singer.

Well... In Alex’s defense, it does seem like she’s got a type! Tall, lanky, brunette, brown eyes (I think John also have brown eyes), lead singers...
All I’m saying is if Holly’s allowed to flaunt John around (real or faked) to help her coupe with her feelings for Alex, he should be able to do the same with whoever he wants.
It’s very dysfunctional for both of them but would sort of be hypocritical if it was okay for her and not him.

Nope, he's an asshole. He's complaining about Holly being in (what he thinks to be) a real relationship. Real relationship >> groupie. And he attacks her with words! Saying that she has a 'type'. Fuck him.
