Chapter 7
Carlie POV
It was the first time I had genuinely smiled when Alex asked me out. He was such a great guy and I didn’t want anything to ruin our relationship.
When Cass pulled me aside she wanted to know all of the details so I told her; she really was becoming a really great friend.
A part of me was sad though because I hadn’t had much luck with guys, my last boyfriend wasn’t the best and I never wanted anyone to find out what had happened with him.
When we headed back to the guys they looked like they had been having quite a serious conversation so I decided to diffuse the tention by saying, “Hey guys, let’s get the embarrassment over so I can whoop your asses at bowling.”
Jack replied with a really cocky comment, “Bring it English Girl.”
I laughed and took Alex’s hand in mine; he seemed to relax when I grabbed his hand.
We all went inside and paid for Ice skating but at that moment I realized I had a problem, I had no money on me; I felt really bad but Alex caught on and paid for me aswell as himself.
I looked at him and smiled. No one seemed to notice what had happened and when they were out of earshot I turned to Alex and said, “Thanks, I’ll pay you back for everything tonight.”
“No you won’t it’s my treat. Don’t worry about it,” Alex replied.
As we all put on our ice skates I realized how nervous I was I was trying to stop myself from having an anxiety attack; I had never been ice skating before and I really didn’t want to make a fool out of myself.
Everyone except Alex and I got onto the ice. Alex wasn’t joking when he said that Jack was like Bambi on ice he had only been on the ice about two minutes and he had already fallen over twice.
Alex grabbed my hand and took me to the edge of the rink, he gave me a reassuring smile and we stepped out onto the ice and I instantly gripped on to Alex for support.
“I promise I won’t let you fall, so stop worrying,” he reassured me.
He made me grab onto the edge as he showed me what to do. He then grabbed my hands and skated with me. I got the hang of it quite quickly after about an hour I felt ready to try and skate on my own.
“You can let go of me now I think I’ve got the hang of it,” I said to Alex.
He let me go and I started skating on my own; Alex stayed close to me though I case I looked like I was going to fall. I was having fun for the first time in a while.
“Wow you’re doing it Carlie, see you’re a natural,” Alex laughed.
He was showing off by skating backwards; I couldn’t help but admire him, how his brown hair flowed across his forehead and going towards his beautiful brown eyes.
Suddenly Alex grabbed me, I didn’t even realise I was about to fall until he grabbed me and we bot fell over with me landing on top of him. We both started laughing and I couldn’t help but kiss him.
Our kiss was interrupted by all our friends laughing and whooping; they had rushed over when they saw us both fall.
I got from off Alex and he then helped me up off the ice.
“Come on you lovebirds, let’s go bowling I want to see Carlie try and woop my ass,” Jack laughed.
When we had all got off the ice and took our skates off we headed next door and Alex payed for me to go bowling. I still felt really bad that he was paying for me to do all the things we were doing; I didn’t want to be the type of girlfriend who sponged off of her boyfriend.
We picked an alley and then started to play. Jack and I were the last to go.
Jack managed to get a spare and then he turned to me as if to say let’s see if you can do better. I bowled a strike which wiped the smug smile of Jack’s face. Everyone else was playing for fun me and Jack were playing like it was a competition.
As we were all playing we ate pizza which tasted so good.
We played two games and jack and I were drawn. I had won the first game and Jack had won the second game by only one point though.
We were halfway through the third game when Jack turned to me and said, “Ok you’re seriously good at this game. Where did you learn to bowl like this?”
“Just a lot of practice I guess; my dad and I used to go bowling once a month from as far back as I can remember,” I replied sadly.
“Oh ok. Well it’s your turn. Don’t get it into the gutter now!” Jack said his usual cocky demeanor slowly returning.
When we finally finished the game; I had won two out of the three games. My friends couldn’t help but laugh because no one had ever managed to beat Jack at bowling ever. Even Vic had a bit of a giggle; which Jack wasn’t impressed by.
“So Jack what’s it like to finally loose and to a girl aswell; I mean it must feel like a right kick in the balls,” Cass laughed.
“Ignore them babe you did brilliant,” Vic said trying to put a smile back on Jacks’ face after the laughing incident.
“Dude you’re my best mate but my girlfriend just wooped your ass,” Alex grinned taking hold of my hand.
“She got luck but, even I have to admit she’s really good and she played a good game,” Jack said and held out his hand for me to shake.
I took my phone out after shaking Jacks’ hand and gasped when I saw it was half an hour past my curfew.
“OH FUCK! Alex we have to go… like right now!” I panicked pulling Alex to try and get him to move.
“Why what’s up?” Rian asked.
“I’m late for my curfew. My grandparents are going to kill me,” I replied.
“Ok let’s go,” Alex said realizing the urgency.
We said goodbye to our friends and told them we would see them tomorrow as we ran to Alex’s car.
We drove in silence, me slightly having a panic attack and Alex driving slightly over the speed limit so I would get home sooner rather than later. I told him where I lived when we got into the car and he said he knew exactly where it was; partly because he lived across the street from me.
He pulled into my drive and as I was about to get out of the car he gave me a goodnight kiss.
“I’ll give you a lift to school tomorrow if you’d like?” Alex said even though it sounded like a question.
“Yeah that would be great, text me later. If I don’t answer im grounded. I will definetly see you in the morning though. Hopefully I don’t get grounded,” I replied.
I walked up to my front door and just as I opened the door I turned and waved at Alex just as he drove off. Before I closed the door I noticed that he literally did only live across from me but across and a few doors down. I went into the living room to see my grandparents sat up waiting for me.
That’s when I started babbling not even giving them a chance to speak, “I know I am 45 minutes late for my curfew; it’s my fault I didn’t look at my phone. I am so sorry and I totally understand that I am probably grounded and trust me I’ll accept the grounding because I should have kept an eye on the time.”
“Are you done?” My grandma calmly asked and I nodded before she continued, “We’re not mad and we’re not going to ground you. Yes, you should have paid closer attention to the time and yes, you were late for curfew but, as long as you had fun with your new friends that is all that matters. We are just glad you are making friends. Next time you are running late though even if you’re already late just let us know. We have had a conversation and we are extending your curfew to midnight on school nights. So technically even if you didn’t realise at the time you are on time. Like I said just let us know Jellybean.”
I stood staring at my grandparents in shock and at that moment I realized I had the coolest grandparents ever, not realizing that it would soon cause them a lot of trouble.
My grandma asked me then what my day was like school and after school; I told them both everything even about Alex. When I got to the parts about Alex they noticed my eyes and my face light up.
After I finished my story I excused myself and went to my room to bed.
When I had finished getting ready for bed and I lay down; I decided to check my phone and saw that Alex had text me.

I placed my phone down and drifted into the best sleep I had, had in a while with a massive smile on my face.

Hey guys i actually updated within a week woohoo!!!!this chapter is untitled because i couldn't think of what to call it so comment your ideas on what this chapter should be called and i will pick my favourite.
The lads were on BBC RADIO 1 in the UK today and they sounded amazing they even did a quick video chat and i asked them a question and they answered it i was sooooo happy. words cannot describe how happy i was.
i am going to be updated more regularly i hope anyway.
i feel like my chapters are getting longer so that is good.
The first 12ish chapters are going to be quite sweet and soppy because i kind of want Alex and Carlie to have a cute relationship before i put a spanner in the works.
there is also going to be a two months time lapse in the next chapter :)
