***2 months’ time lapse***
Things between Carlie and I had been amazing these past few months. I had met her grandparents and she had met my parents who adored her and things were just great with everything.
Carlie’s birthday was coming up in a week and wanted to do something special for her.
I had most of it all planned out with the help of our friends and my parents and her grandparents.
I decided that I needed to go to the mall so I could buy her some birthday presents well more birthday presents. I sent a group message to all my friends except Carlie beause I didn’t want her to know anything.
To Cass, Jack-o, Ri, Zack, Tay and Vic:
Meet me at the mall in 1 hr it’s important.
Don’t say anything to Carlie.
I’ll be in the usual spot.
From Jack-o:
It better be important.
From Cass:
It’s obvs for Carlie’s birthday otherwise lex wudnt have sed don’t tell her.
Anyway I’ll be there.
From Zack:
I’m in so is Tay.
From Vic:
Jack and I will be there.
Jack just pissed cuz you woke him up.
From Jack-o
AM NOT!!! Hasn’t Carlie got enough though?
From Cass:
No she hasn’t. Lex wants to make this birthday super special for her.
From Zack:
It’s Tay a girl can never have enough. The bigger the better.

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!!!!! HEHEHEHE!!!
Fine I’ll be there.

I’ll be there too.
With Rian’s message I started to get ready, putting on my black Skinny jeans and my green day t-shirt with my battered black and white converse. I didn’t really bother with my hair so I just put a beanie on my head.
I went downstairs and my parents were in the living room watching TV.
“Hey Mom, hey dad,” I said really sweetly.
My parents looked at me and then my dad turned to me and said, “How much do you want?”
“I don’t want anything. I’m just going to the mall with the guys to get Carlie’s birthday presents. If you see Carlie though you don’t know where I am or who I am with Ok.,” I replied.
“Here Alex, buy her something nice,” My dad said as he gave me some money.
“Thanks Dad, see you guys later,” I said as I picked up my car keys, I had already saved up a fair bit of money but with my dad giving me more money, I could buy Carlie so much more and make this such a good birthday for her.
The drive to the mall wasn’t as fun withough Carlie next to me; we normally cranked up the music and sang at the top of our lungs without her though I just listened to the music without singing.
It was Saturday so the mall was really busy but, luckily when I got there, there was a parking spot right near the front by the entrance to the mall. I parked up and and went to the spot where I was to meet everyone.
“Yo Dude we are here,” Jack shouted as he, Vic, Tay and Zack walked up to me.
We waiting for five minutes for Cass and Rian and when they finally turned up we all walked in together.
“Has anyone spoke to Carlie today?” I asked.
“She texted me just after you did and I told her I was busy helping Rian. I hated lying to her but I knew it was necessary,” Cass replied to my question.
“OK where to first?” Jack aksed.
“Well I was thinking maybe hot topic because I know she wanted some new band t-shirts. I know what she has and what she doesn’t,” I replied.
“AWWW it’s so cute how much you’re doing for her birthday and Good idea; then we can go from there,” Cass said.
We all walked to Hot Topic and when we got there we were all dumbfounded to see that it was almost empty.
“Ok, have we entered a parallel universe where no one shopes at Hot Topic no more because this place is normally full?” Jack asked.
“I know. This is a good thing though it means we don’t have to fight with people over stuff. That annoys the fuck out of me, I mean when I see something I like I have to have it. People need to move out of my way of face my wrath,” Tay ranted.
We all laughed because when Tay got shopping rage it was hilarious because no one could get in her way.
As everyone split up I went to look at the band t-shirts, it took me an hour just to pick 10 t-shirts for Carlie. I then went to see what everyone else was up too. They all seemed to have their arms filled with stuff.
“Guys I’m going to pay for this stuff, then head to the music store I have to get something. Meet me at the food court I shouldn’t be long,” I said to them.
My friends nodded as I turned to pay and headed to the music store because for the past month and a half I had been paying for a new guitar for Carlie because, I knew that she had to leave hers back in England; I’d picked out a purple acoustic for her which I knew she would love.
Today was the day I had to make the final payment, I also wanted to pick up some CD’s for her; to stop her from stealing mine.
“Hey Alex how you doin’ man?” Matt who worked at the store asked.
“I’m good man, I’m just her to pay the final installment for the guitar so I can take it home with me,” I explained.
I paid what was left to pay and then told Matt I was going to look at some CD’s then pay for those and then grab some food and then I would pick up the guitar on my way home; Matt told me that he would make sure it was all ready for me to take.
I went to look through the CD’s and picked up a load I knew Carlie would like. After I paid for the CD’s I realized that I had no money left at all.
I walked to the food court where I knew Cass, Rian, Jack, Vic, Zack and Tay were waiting. I walked over to them and sat down, on cue my stomach started to rumble.
“Someone is hungry,” Jack laughed taking note of my rumbling stomach.
“Yeah a tiny bit and I would buy food but I now have absolutely no money left,” I replied.
“You really are going all out for Carlie’s birthday aren’t you?” Tay asked.
“Well she is totally worth it. I have brought her so much and obviously there’s the big surprise we are all planning. I just hope she likes everything,” I replied smiling at Tay.
“AWWW it’s so cute,” Vic gushed.
“I’ll buy you food Romeo,” Cass said.
Jack being Jack instantly started taking the mick by quoting Romeo and Juliet and my friends being who they were, were quoting it back until we were all in pain from laughing so hard.
We all got food and ate it and then when we were on our way out we stopped to pick up the guitar. Jack was nice enough to take the bags I was carrying so I could carry the guitar in its’ case.
“Ok I will see you Monday. Tomorrow I am spending all day with my girl watching movies and cuddling on my bed with lots of snacks. My phone will be off so do not text me. I will see you guys later,” I explained as I got into my car and drove home.
I got back to my house and took Carlie’s presents upstairs so I could wrap them and then hide them in my parents’ room with her other stuff.
“Mom have you got any more wrapping paper please?” I asked as I went downstairs.
“Yes I do,” My mom replied getting up to get the wrapping paper while I went to get the tape and the scissors, I also decided to grab a soda from the fridge.
My mom came back a few minutes later with her arms filled with wrapping paper; I took it off her and went back upstairs to my room.
Two hours passed and I had finally finished wrapping Carlie’s presents, I had to make sure they were wrapped perfect. I took them into my parents’ room and hid them with her other presents; I really hoped that Carlie liked her presents especially her big surprise because that had taken so much planning.
I looked at my phone as I went back into my room and noticed I had a text off Carlie.

I went to sleep with a smile on my face wondering how I could be so lucky.
