Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
"You're doing good Nyssa!," Jack yells. I keep my foot on the board, while my other foot is pushing me along. Jack didn't want me to stand on the board alone yet, he just wanted me to get the feel of doing this part. "Okay Nyssa! Stop! Nyssa stop!" I don't stop and skate right into a tree. Thank god I'm wearing a helmet. I fall on my butt and kick the board away. "Are you okay!?" "Yeah, I'm fine." Jack helps me up and I take the helmet off. "Maybe that's enough practice today." "No way, I have to do this." "Nyssa, why are you doing this for him?" "I know you don't understand Jack, but I have to do this." "I just don't like watching you get hurt by him." "I swear I'm fine Jack." I pick up the board but he tries to take it away from me. "I can't believe you're doing this much, for a guy like him. When you know how I feel about you." I still haven't figured out how I feel about Jack. But I can't forget that night he confessed to me. I never thought he would at me like that, let alone hold me like that... I shake my head and take the board away from him. "I have to do this Jack." He lets out a sigh, "then you can learn on your own now." "What!?" "I can't help you if you don't explain to me why you're doing this."

Jack walks off and I stare at the skateboard. As much I want to tell you Jack, I just can't. I have to do this.

Claire's POV:
"Hi Claire," Alex pulls me close but I gently push him away. Was Alex this clingy with Nyssa? I only did the host club thing as a joke for myself. Nyssa wasn't actually supposed to know about it, I just wanted to see how Alex would react. As much I love the attention, it's getting annoying. But he's not phased by what I say, instead he just stays. "Are you ready to be kissed by your ex?" "I doubt it'll happen. I've seen her practice, she's not good." "You never know, once she puts her mind to something she doesn't give up." "Claire, why do you keep pushing me away?" "Because I doubt you'll stay loyal to me." Like all of the guys in the past. I know I go on a lot of dates, but, I just can't find that right guy. That's all I really want. "How about I prove it to you." "How?" "I come over," he backs me up against the wall and pins my arms with his hands. Well shit. "I cook you dinner," he whispers in my ear and I feel his hand slide up my arm and up to my neck. He leaves his hand there and lightly kisses on my neck. "And we have some fun." My heart is beating fast and I manage to push him away. "So what do you say?" "I say..." Shit he sounded serious about it. "Tomorrow night, if Nyssa fails." He smiles and kisses me, "you have a deal."

Nyssa's POV:
It's night time now, but I can't stop. I have to be able to ride this board for just a minute. I have no idea when I have to do this for Alex tomorrow but I have to be prepared to do it. I put my helmet back on and get on the board. "Okay Nyssa, you can do this." I push off with my foot and quickly put it on the board. I keep my arms out like Jack taught me, "I'm doing it!" I smile really big, "I'm really doing IT!" The board stops on something and I end up flying forward, I stomp my foot down but I stomp down wrong. Pain shoots through my ankle and I fall to the ground. I slowly sit up and grab my ankle. "No no," I cry. I'm crying from the pain and I'm crying because I can't do it anymore. I was actually doing it. I was actually riding the board. And of course I fuck up. "Nyssa." I look up and I see Jack. "Jack!" "What happened?" "I don't know, the board got caught on something and this happened." He kneels down and moves my hands from my ankle. "I think you twisted your ankle Nyssa." I punch the ground and cry more in frustration. "I was doing it Jack, I was fucking doing it." "I know, I saw." "You did?" "Yeah, I had to come back to see if you were still practicing. I was about to tell you to go home but I saw how well you were doing. But let's go home now."

He helps me up, "keep your balance real quick." I stand on my good foot while he grabs the board. He puts my arm around his shoulder and his arm around my waist. We slowly walk out of the park and I see Zack's car with Zack by it. "Why is Zack here?" "He's taking his board back." "No way." "Nyssa you can't ride anymore, it bet is off." "I have to do this Jack." "Nyssa it's to dangerous now, I won't let you get on a board tomorrow." "What the hell happened you two?" "Nyssa twisted her ankle, get the door." Zack opens the door and Jack helps me in. Jack and Zack get in the car and we drive off. "Nyssa, I can't allow this to continue." "Me wanting to ride the board, or me trying to get Alex back." Jack doesn't look back at me. "I knew it... You don't want me get back with Alex." "I have my reasons." "And I have mine." I look down and see Zack's penny board, it's small enough to fit in my backpack without them noticing. I quietly grab the board and put it in my backpack. I know I'm being stupid, but I have to do this.

*Next Night*
"You can't even walk right, how are you supposed to do this?," Alex questions me. Alex picked to do it at night, and Claire gave instructions that I have to do it by the lake. My ankle is still twisted but I have to do this. I just have to last a minute. "I'm doing this. I'm not giving up." "Claire was right about you." "About what?" "That you never give up on something once you put your mind to it." "She's not wrong." I put the board down and put my foot on the board. I'll just use my good foot to push off and keep my bad foot on the board. "I'm ready." "Go ahead then." I push off but I quickly lose my balance and stop. "Just give me a minute." I try again but I lost my balance again. Come on Nyssa. It's just for a minute. "I'm done with this, you clearly can't do it." "I swear I'm going to do this!" I don't pay attention to Alex, I keep my foot on the board and push off. "I'm doing it!" But as soon I get a good speed I lose balance and fall backwards into the lake. "Alex!! Alex help!!" I struggle to stay up, I splash around, I can't swim right with my ankle like this. "Alex!! You promised me!," I cry before I go under the water.

Alex's POV:
I got annoyed watching Nyssa struggle. She clearly can't do it. I have plans with my girlfriend. I see Claire and run up to her. "You ready to go up to my place?" I smile at her and she grabs my hand. But as Claire grabs my hand something happens with my system. I stop walking and grab my head. "Alex, are you okay?" I can't see Claire, instead, I'm seeing images of Nyssa. Nyssa is laughing, I think she's dancing. It then switches to Nyssa acting shy and I hear my voice talking to her. It then switches to Nyssa crying, it's looks like I'm holding her, her head on my chest. She looks up at me, tears rolling down her face. I wipe her tears and she leans in, I think she kissed my cheek. What's going on? Why am I seeing this? The images finally go away and Claire is staring at me concerned. I look down at the ring, the ring is clear. But Claire is fine. Clear means... "NYSSA!!" I run off back to the park. "I'm coming Nyssa! Just hold on!" "What the hell!," I hear Jack say as I run past him. I ignore him and keep running.

I reach the park and run down to the lake. "NYSSA!" I look around and see Nyssa floating in the lake, her head in the water. I jump in and swim over to her. I grab Nyssa and swim to the edge. I lift her up and get her on the concrete. I get out of the water and kneel by her, I turn her over onto her back. "Nyssa, Nyssa please wake up. I don't know what's going on with my system, but I need you to wake up." I press on her chest a bit, open her mouth and give her CPR. I press on her chest a bit more and give her CPR again. I keep my mouth longer on her hers this time, something happens with my system, I pause for a moment while my system resets. I slowly pull away and Nyssa starts coughing, water coming out of her mouth. "Nyssa!" She breathes heavily and reaches out, "Nyssa, it's okay. I'm here." She feels me and grips my shirt. "Jack?," she coughs. "No Nyssa, it's me. Alex." "Alex," she coughs and I sit her up. She hugs me tightly and I wrap my arms around her. "Just take slow deep breaths," I pat and rub her back. She slows her breaths and looks up at me, "where's my glasses." "I'm guessing in the lake." "I think I have a back up pair back at home." "Let's go home then." I pick her up, "Alex. I missed you so much," she whispers. "I'm sorry with what happened Nyssa. I promise it won't happen again."

Jack's POV:
When I heard Alex yell Nyssa's name, and saw him running, I had to follow him. He got to the park before I did, when I arrived Alex was giving Nyssa CPR. I can't believe that Nyssa still did it. If I was with her she wouldn't have fallen into the lake. I watch Alex carry Nyssa away, I can't tell if he cares about her again. I'm glad that Nyssa is okay, but at the same time, I still don't like what happened.
