Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
I look around the classroom, Claire hasn't been in class for a week. I know our friendship is over, but it's not like her to skip class. "Who are you looking for?," Jack asks me. "Claire." "Why though?" "It's not like her to skip class." "Did you hear, Claire withdrew from class," I hear Sara say. "Actually, I think she withdrew from all of her classes," one of her friends say. Claire... Withdrew from all of her classes....? "Oh Nyssa, I heard you slapped Claire. After hearing the truth about her, she deserved it." "Yeah, can't believe she wasn't a true friend to you all this time." "That's enough everyone," Jack snaps. He picks up his stuff and moves to the chair next to me. "What are you doing? Your normally sit behind me." "What does it look like? I'm sitting next to you." "But... Why?" He lets out a sigh, "it shouldn't be that weird for you Nyssa. We've been classmates before." "I guess..." But now it feels weird...

"Where's Alex?," I ask Zack. "Wait, why are you asking me?" "Because you're his boss." "I thought you knew he quit?" "Wait, when did he quit?" "A week ago." "A week ago!? Why!?" "I thought you would have known since he's your boyfriend. Just get back to work." When and why did Alex quit!? I thought he just wasn't scheduled to work.... Everything is normal at home... "Nyssa?" "Uh. Yeah?" "Did Alex really quit?" "It looks like it..." "But why would he?" "I don't know Jack," I mumble. I start to walk away but he gently grabs my arm. "I don't know what your relationship is like, but you should talk to him about this." "Yeah.. I should.."

"Alex?," I call out. Alex isn't home... This is so weird... Where could he be? I change into my pj's, grab my laptop, and lay on my bed. Why didn't Alex tell me he had quit his job?

"Morning Nyssa," I hear Alex say. I open my eyes and let out a yawn. I jump when I see Alex. "Nyssa, what's wrong?" "I.. Uh.. Um.." "You seem troubled by something." "Well... It's nothing. I promise." "Are you sure?" I don't remember Alex coming home last night, when did I fall asleep? "What time is it?" "It's ten. Don't worry, it's Saturday." "Oh. Okay." "I made breakfast, do you want to eat it in bed or some place else?" "Um. We can eat at the table." I get out of bed and he follows me out. He grabs the food from the kitchen and puts it on the table. I take a seat and start eating. He sits across from me and eats. "Is it good?" "It's great as usual." It's bothering me. I have to ask him. "Alex... Why didn't you tell me that you had quit your job at the bar?" "I didn't want you to worry about me." "But why did you quit? I thought you liked working with me." "I felt that I wasn't collecting enough data there. There was mainly guys." "Oh... Well that makes since. But, what are you doing now? I don't remember you coming home last night, and you weren't home when I got home from work." Now that I think about it... Alex hasn't been home at night lately... "I've been seeing Rian, he's helping me out collecting more data and to act more like a human guy." "Oh. Well that's nice of him I guess."

This time I decided to follow Alex. I don't fully believe him when he said that he was hanging out with Rian every night. I quietly follow Alex more into town, making sure that he doesn't see or hear me. I keep following him and we reach the club part of town. Why is he here? He walks into the back of one club, I almost grab the handle when I see the sign "Employees Only". "Shit, I have to go inside." I go to the front, "Pure Bliss?," I say out loud. I walk in, "welcome miss," the guy in front of me says. "Uh. Hi." He's really handsome, and he's wearing really cool clothes. "How may I help you tonight?" "Um, I think I got the wrong place..." Why would Alex walk into here? "What kind of place were you looking for?" "I. Uh. I do-don't kn-know." "You don't need to be nervous. You must be new. Let me introduce you to our club." He goes behind the small desk and pulls out a black folder. "Welcome to Pure Bliss, where handsome men entertain women." "Wait, what?" Did I just hear him right!? Keep it together Nyssa...

"What kind of club is this?" "It's a host club miss." A HOST CLUB!? I DIDN'T KNOW ONE EXISTED OVER HERE! "Miss, are you okay?" "I. Uh. Um. What's that?" "This is our book of hosts. Would you like to take a look?" "Sure." He hands me the book and I quickly flipped through it. I stopped on one page, my heart is beating so fast. Why. Why... I feel like my legs are going to give out on me. "Miss, are you okay?" He looks at the page, "oh. That's our new host. He's really popular and I apologize that he's booked for the night." I stare at Alex's picture and slowly close the book. "Um. Thank you. I um. I'm going to leave." "Please come back another time miss." I walk out of the club, lean against the wall, my heart beat is pounding in my ears. I'm trying to force myself not to cry. Why is Alex working here!?
