Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
"Hey Nyssa." I look up and see three girls from one of my classes. They never usually talk to me, so why are they talking to me now? "Um...hi." I look back down and go back to my work. "Nyssa, we're having lunch with some guys and we're wondering if you wanted to join us." "Yeah Nyssa, it'll be fun." "Plus, who knows. You might meet someone." They all giggle and slowly look up at them. "Come on Nyssa, we have to go now." One girl grabs my arm and pulls. "Uh..uh...um..okay.." "Awesome!" I quickly gather my things and another girl pulls on my arm to walk with her. "Oh don't look so shy Nyssa, these guys are really nice."

The girls giggle and the guys laugh. Meanwhile I just eat my food and keep my head low. I don't get why they invited me. They rarely speak to me. "Oh! Hi Adam," I hear one girl say flirtatiously. "Hey girls. Who's this?" "Nyssa, say hi," the girl next to me whispers. I slowly look up at him, oh my god. He's so cute. He smiles at me, "hey can I switch seats with you Anne." "Uh. Um. Sure Adam." Anne gets up and Adam sits next to me. He puts his arm around me and I try to move away. He laughs, "I see you're shy." "I um. Have to use the bathroom," I mumble and quickly get up. I run off to the bathroom, and when I get there I lock myself in a stall. My heart is beating so fast. Does this guy really think I'm cute? It's not possible...

"I can't believe that little brat," I hear Anne snap. I don't think she knows I'm in here. Or if she even heard me before I left. "I know, you think she would have figured out the real reason why we invited her." "Just to embarrass her for how bad she failed this morning with Alec." They laugh and I let my head hang. I should've known that they were up to something. "And what the does Adam see in her." "Who knows. We better get back." "Where is that girl anyway." "Who knows, like I care."

"So what do you ladies want to do now?," one of the guys ask. "We could go to the union." "You all can go, I want to spend more time with Nyssa." Adam puts his arm around me and pulls me close to him. Anne glares at me and I look away from her. "Have fun you two," one of the guys laughs. They walk off and I slowly look up at Adam. "Wh-where are we going.." "Oh please, do you really think that I want to spend alone time with you?" He pushes me away and I fall on my side. I look up at him, my glasses at the edge of my nose. "I just used you as an excuse so I wouldn't have to spend time with them." "But I thought..." "That I liked you? Oh please. Why would a guy like me, like a girl like you."

He walks off and I push my glasses up. My eyes water up and I quickly gather my things. I run off, trying my hardest not to cry. Why does this always happen to me?

"Nyssa, I have your dinner," I hear Jack yell from the other side of my door. I slowly walk over, my head hanging forward. I open the door and slowly look up at him. "You know you don't have to feed me." "Your mother called me to remind me that I have to." He hands me the containers, "well. Thanks." I start closing the door. "Nyssa, are you okay?" "I-I'm fine Jack." "Nys-" I close the door and I lean against, slowly sliding down and sit on the floor. I just want to be alone for the night. And not be reminded of what happened today.
