Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
I hear the alarm, groan, and roll to my side. I rub my eyes and slowly open them. I let out a scream, quickly stop the alarm and jump out of bed. How could I sleep in so late! Today is the day! I quickly get ready, picking the cutest outfit that I own. I run back in my bathroom and quickly put makeup on. I pause when I put lip gloss on and stare at my reflection. As always. This is as good its going to get. I shake my head and run back into my room, "where is it!" I run outside onto my balcony and search through my clothes that are hanging up that are now dry. "Where where where!" I quickly throw clothes around and I finally find the gold heart bracelet that Claire gave to me. I quickly put it on and run back inside, grabbing my backpack, and the gift for him.

I quickly open my main door and run smack into someone. I groan and look up to see Jack glaring at me. "What do you want now Jack? I'm running late for school." He holds up my pink bra and I let out a scream and grab it from him. "How about next time, you look where you throw things." I stick my tongue out at him and he does the same. I stuff the bra into my bag, "out of my way Jack." I elbow him to the side, lock my door, and run off.

Jack, who I have known since I was in diapers, is my next door neighbor, and also goes to the same college as me. We've been in the same schools all of our lives. All because our parents are friends. Also, my parents asked him to keep an eye out for me. He's more like an annoying brother.

I keep running until I reach the bus stop. I breathe hard and lean against the bench. I hear the bus pull up and quickly stand up straight. The door opens and I run on. The bus finally reaches school and I run off. I have to meet him! I keep running until I get to the reflection pond, where he normally is in the mornings. I see him in the distance and I smile. Today is the day. I run up to him, "A-Alec!" He stops walking and turns to face me. I finally reach him, letting out deep breaths. "Uh... Are you okay?" "Ye-yeah! Um, give me a minute." I try to calm my breaths and I slowly start to breathe normal.

"Okay, I'm good now!' "Um... What do you want?" "I want to give you so-" "Hey babe," I hear a girl say. I freeze when I see a girl wrap her arms around him and he smiles at her. "Who's this?" "I don't know." He pecks her lips and I grip the bag. "Sweetie, are you okay?" "Wait... I think she's in one of my classes." "Y-yes! I'm in your math class." "Ah, now I remember you. The math nerd." "Wait, what is she holding?" "U-um. Its for you." I hold the bag up and look away from them. I should've known that he has a girlfriend.... The girl grabs the bag for me, "thank you sweetie. Wait... what is this?" He starts laughing, "what kind of girl are you?" I quickly look up and he's holding my bra. Noooo!!!!!

I grab the bra away from him and they laugh while walking away. I fall backwards and stare up at the sky. This is so embarrassing!! I've never had luck with guys. Even making guy friends. Jack doesn't count though. All the guys that I have ever asked to be my friend or confessed to, they turned me down. I know its because I'm not pretty. "Nyssa, are you okay?" I see Claire leaning over me and I pout even more. Claire helps me up and she see's that I'm holding my bra. "Oh Nyssa." She takes the bra from me and stuffs it into her purse.

"Screw him, Nyssa. He doesn't deserve you." "This isn't fair Claire," I whine. She pats my back. Claire is gorgeous. All the guys like her, but she always turns them down. Claire and I met on orientation day three years ago and have been best friends since. "Nyssa, you deserve better. Trust me, you'll find someone." "Would you two stop your girl talk, class is starting." I sit up and glare at Jack behind me. He glares back and I turn around facing the front. "Why don't you ask Jack out?," Claire whispers. I made a gag face with my finger pointing into my mouth, making Claire giggle.

I just wish I can get asked out for once.
