Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
I take a bite of my food and I moan in happiness, I was so hungry in class. And I'm happy that Claire was able to meet up with me for lunch. "How hungry were you during class?," Claire laughs. "So hungry. I didn't really eat breakfast this morning." Mainly because I thought Alex had made me me breakfast and I had slept in a bit. Leaving no time for a actual breakfast, just a granola bar. "Well take it easy, don't want to get an upset stomach." "You're right. Thanks for reminding me." "So Nyssa, I was in the libraries cafe earlier and there's this new hot guy working in the library." Shit, is she talking about Alex? "He seems nice, do you want me to set him up with you?" "N-no thank you." I look down and shove more food in my mouth. "Are you sure?" "I'm sure." "Oh well. Maybe the reason you're saying no because you're already dating him!" I jump and stare at her in shock. "You know!?," I say with my mouth full.

"Girl, I totally saw him kiss you earlier!" I feel my cheeks burn and she smiles at me. "I knew it! You are dating him! How did you meet him!? I've never seen him before!" "Well. Um. It's kind of a difficult story." "Why is it difficult?" "Well, I kind of met him through a friend. Well not a friend, a customer from work." You can do this Nyssa! Rian was technically at work that night, and that's where he gave me this business card to buy Alex. "Yeah, this guy who always comes in asked if I was single, and I said yeah. He said that I would be perfect for his friend Alex. Which is who I'm dating now." To bad I can't use that story with anyone at work. "What made you say yes to meeting him?" "I don't really know, I think I got tired of being alone." "Well girl, he is so hot. Don't let him go. I approve of him for you." I smile at her, "thanks Claire. That means a lot to me to hear from you."

I'm so glad that I met Claire, I met her on orientation day before Freshman year. We ended up in the same group for when it was time to split off into our majors. We clicked in a second and changed our roommate assignments so that we could live together for the first year. All through school, I never actually had a a friend. But everything changed when I met Claire. She's like a sister to me.

I look at the time, "oh shit. Sorry Claire, but I had made plans with Alex. I'll talk to you later." "Same!" I quickly pick up my things and run off to the fountain. When I reach the fountain I see Alex waiting for me. I run up to Alex and we smile at each other, "I got here early so that you wouldn't be waiting for me." "That's really sweet of you Alex." He leans down and kisses my cheek. I love that he's respecting my space and hasn't tried anything ever since we made our promise. I drop my stuff on the ground and sit down, "what are you doing?" "I want to relax here, have a seat." He sits down by me and puts his arm around my waist. "Is this what couples do?" "I don't know if all couples do, but I know that couples sometime cuddle outside on a blanket. I actually always wanted to do that..." "Well now you're doing it with me, without the blanket." I lean against him and he wraps his arm more around me.

"I like that I get to spend time with my girlfriend at her school. I've also collected some data today." "Like what?" "Well, one guy was bothering a girl who was trying to study, I think she was angry. Oh, and another, you're friend Claire. Some guy was bothering her and I stopped him." "I didn't know that you two met." Well I guess since a guy was bothering her, maybe she didn't want to tell me. Which I understand. "Her emotions were a bit mixed though. I picked up annoyed and mad." "Maybe she was , I would have felt that way too. But I can't believe that you two met." "I'm glad that I'm meeting your friends Nyssa. Claire, Jack, and Zack seem really nice." "Yeah, Jack and Claire are the most important people in my life. And of course you as well." He smiles really big, "you really mean that Nyssa!?" "Yeah, I do." "I'm so happy that you consider me important in your life now." He kisses my cheek and tickles me a bit.

"Alex stop," I laugh which makes him laugh. "But I love it when you laugh, you're really cute." "Alex, stop, I can't fully breathe when I'm laughing," I laugh. He quickly stops and looks down at me in concern. "Can you breathe now?" "I'm fine, it's just a expression. When humans are laughing, its harder for them to breathe." "I promise to never do that again." "It's okay Alex, you can do it in the future." I just now notice that I'm laying on my back and Alex is leaning over me. Alex pushes my hair out of my face and smiles down at me, "I love these moments with you Nyssa." He slowly leans down and I shut my eyes. Oh god, is he going to kiss me on the lips this time? I feel his breath on my lips, "Alex wait." "What's wrong? I thought the moment was right, and the ring was pink." "Wait, what's pink?" "Pleasure." I stare up at him in shock and push on his chest so that he would move and I could sit up. Why is my heart beating so fast!? Did I actually want Alex to kiss me!?

I grab my head and let out a groan. "Nyssa, what's wrong?" I don't know how I felt in that moment, did I really want Alex to kiss me? His ring is connected to my emotions, and it said pleasure. Was I feeling pleasure? I shake my head, "Nyssa." I look up at Alex, "please don't beat yourself up. It's sort of my fault you are feeling like this." I let out a sigh and lean against him, "it's okay Alex. I'm just need to understand my feelings better. Right now, it seems like you know them better than I do." "But I don't know what you're thinking. I only see your emotions. Those are two different things. So please, don't beat yourself up over this." He kisses my head and I let out a sigh, relaxing a bit. That was the first time Alex's ring turned pink, and it's all because of me. I hope I can figure out my emotions, because I want to fully feel comfortable with Alex. Because I have a feeling Rian might push us to do it. Which my virgin mind and body isn't ready for yet.
