Kiss and Sell

This Dawn Brings Strange Loyalties

Jack's head met Alex's chest, his eyes instantly fluttering shut and thoughts going to where they usually went when he wanted to escape his life. The gentle feeling of Alex's fingers running through his hair soothed him and comforted him. He felt Alex's chest shake and glanced up to see him trying to hold back giggles. Jack tilted his head to look behind them at their new friend, Valarie, who was sitting in Alex's room with them. Jack had no idea where Alex found all these people and how the fuck he was so friendly with them so easily. Jack still hadn't really directly talked to the girl because he was so awkward; Alex acted as if they were best friends.

Cass had joined them to meet Alex's twin that Jack still did not believe was real at all, but when they arrived it seemed that coincidently at the same time Isobel had called him and said her and Tom were out grocery shopping and buying him a few things for school.

The only reason they honestly met Valarie was because Jack wouldn't let Alex sit with Evan, Danny, Zack, Rian, and Cass at their usual lunch table because of Danny. Jack was starting to really fucking hate that little bitch.

His head popped up suddenly to stare up at Alex who was still running his fingers through his hair as he talked to say, "I think you should stop being friends with Danny."

"Why?" Cass asked as she crawled on top of the bed where they were sitting and moved herself to be behind Jack who was facing Alex and kind of curled up into his side and wrap her arms around his waist while placing her head on his back, "Because he kissed Lex?"

"Yeah." Jack said. Alex gave him an exasperated look.

"He knows we're together now. He isn't going to mess with me. He wants me to be happy." He said, rolling his eyes as he gave Val an apologetic look because they practically excluded her from not only cuddles but from their conversation in under five seconds. She smiled back, not really minding listening to them talk. Their life seemed interesting.

"I don't care." Jack said as he sat up -Cass whining as his warmth left her, "I don't want you around him anymore. He's, like, obsessed with you."

"And you're not?" Alex countered, getting slightly annoyed Jack was telling him what to do like he always fucking did.

Jack glared at him, "I'm not obsessed with you."

"Sure." Alex rolled his eyes.

"Just give me your phone so I can text him and tell him to leave you alone." Jack said, holding his hand out for the phone.

"Dude you can't just tell me what to do and choose my friends. I'm my own person." Alex snapped, keeping his phone firmly in his back pocket. He hated how Jack thought he had full rein over him all the time. Alex deserved to choose if he wanted to be friends with someone who was obsessed with him or not. It was his life.

"Give me your stupid phone, dude." Jack growled, feeling his anger bubbling.

"No."

Jack pounced on Alex, pushing him down into the floor and reaching around to grab his phone. Alex screeched as he slapped Jack in the shoulder. Jack grabbed his ass on accident and tried not to blush as he frowned and moved his hand to his second pocket.

"Get off me you dick! Your fat ass is suffocating me!" Alex screamed. Jack pulled back with his phone making Alex sit up and try to snatch it from him, but Jack moved it out of the way and began typing. Once he sent the text he threw the phone on the bed and pushed Alex down by his shoulders.

"You're the dick. Danny. Is. Obsessed. With. You. I just did you a favor." He stood up and glanced at Cass who nodded and said, "Maybe Jack is right, Lex. Danny is kind of... well... He talked about you all during lunch."

"He talked about me?" Alex asked as he sat up, rubbing his back that hurt thanks to Jack throwing him down. Cass gave a small nod making Alex ask, "What'd he say."

"Umm..." She glanced at Jack who was now sitting in Alex's recliner he had in his room for no reason, "I dunno if Jack will like it."

"Fuck Jack, he's a baby, tell me." Alex said. Jack scoffed and rested his chin in his palm as he watched Alex stand up. Alex glanced behind him at Jack and walked over to him.

"Don't come near me." Jack huffed moodily. He didn't want Alex near him because he pissed him off for being an asshole and not listening to him when they both knew he was right and looking out for him. Alex sat down in his lap just to spite him. He rested his hands on Jack's chest while curling into his lap, acting cute and innocent just to piss Jack off more. Jack glared down at him as he growled, "I said don't come near me asshole."

"I want to be near you you are my boyfriend." Alex said while kissing Jack's jaw. Jack turned his face to look back at Cass who rolled her eyes. Valarie moved to sit next to her with a small smile.

"He was pretty much saying you deserved better than Jack." Cass said.

"He's a fucking cunt." Jack snapped. He felt Alex's kisses move down to his neck to nip at, "I hate him so much. Why were you ever friends with him, really, Alex? You just attract fuckin' psychos."

"That's not true." Alex pouted, looking up at his glaring boyfriend. Jack rolled his eyes and looked back at Cass who frowned at him.

"He's kind of weird now that I think about it." She admitted, "I think I've honestly only heard him talk about Alex."

"My friend dated him once." Val admitted, "She said he actually drove all the way to her house to see if she was actually doing what she said she was. She lived in another state, too. She moved across the country just to get away from him."

"He never told me that." Alex frowned, turning to look at his newly gained friend.

Val shrugged, "He probably didn't want you to know if he likes you. It'd scare anyone sane away."

Cass bit her lip, "You better be careful, Lex."

"Look, guys, he's one of my best friends. I know him. He wouldn't do that. You're probably getting him mixed up... or the girl's over exaggerating. You both probably are." Alex defended.

"I doubt that." Jack said, "You should've heard some of the things he said to me."

"What'd he say to you? When did you guys even talk?" Alex asked.

"Before he kissed you. When you ran off. He talked to me in the bathroom. He said pretty much what Cass said. That I didn't deserve you. Actually, he said you were miserable with me." He sighed then, sitting back in his chair, "I don't know, Lex. He's just got that creepy vibe about him."

"Creepy vibe?" Alex asked, looking around the room to see everyone nodding their heads, "Really, you guys? You're all acting like paranoid idiots. He's not creepy. We've been friends since freshman year."

"How much do you actually know about him?" Valarie asked before adding, "I mean, being friends and knowing someone are completely different things."

Alex bit his lip and shrugged, "I... I know enough to know he's not some obsessed psycho."

"Whatever." Jack muttered. Alex really hated that word sometimes, "Just don't go near him anymore."

Alex rolled his eyes, "Whatever."
