Kiss Me Again

Don't Wanna Make The Same Mistakes As Them

It was two days later, and we were back at school..sadly. Alex was walking me hand in hand to homeroom.
"I like your hair up like that." Alex motioned his head towards my high ponytail, which was swinging from side to side as I walked.
"Really?" I smiled cheekily at him.
"Mhmm. It's cute...you're cute." He leaned down and kissed my nose, causing me to giggle and blush.
Gosh, Alex. You're the real cutie.
We stopped walking when we got to my classroom. We turned to each other and smiled.
"Have a good day, okay?" He smiled down at me, and I grinned and gave him a small nod.
Then, he looped his fingers in the belt loops of my jeans, and pulled my waist closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he both leaned in, closing the space between us.
And once again, there goes the butterflies I get everytime he kisses me.
We pulled apart and said our goodbyes, before I entered the chilly classroom, and took my seat.
And as always, Hayley came about six minutes late, and took her seat next to mine. She immediately pulled out her phone and started grinning wide, before quickly tapping her thumbs on the screen.
I took this moment to examine her outfit, which was quick to capture anyone's attention.
She was wearing a blue sweatshirt, black shorts, black and blue striped tights, and black high top Converse.
Only Hayley could pull off an outfit like this. She looks cute in anything, really. That's one of the things I envy about her.
Three minutes had passed, and she still hadn't looked up from her cell phone.
I frowned, and cleared my throat.
"Ahem!! Earth to Hayley! Helloooo?!" I waved my hands in front of her face, trying to get her attention.
Her eyes stayed glued to the phone, but she just held a finger as if to say, "hold on a sec."
I crossed my arms and waited, till she finished typing her text, and she turned her attention to me.
"Yes?" She blinked at me.
"Well hello to you, too!" I smirked.
"Who were you texting?"
"Jack." She simply stated, the corners of her mouth twisting up a little bit, as she said his name.
"Uhuh..and what were you talking about that was so intriguing, you couldn't bother to notice the existence of anyone else?" I raised my eyebrows and smirked some more, as her cheeks started to turn red.
"Uh, no-nothing.. Just..talking."
"Correction. Jack doesn't talk to girls, he flirts." I laughed as her cheeks got redder and redder.
"We were not flirting, Tay.."
"Yes you were! You have a crush on him, don't you, Hayl?"
I was getting a kick out of this.
"N-no..we're just friends!"
"Just friends my ass! I call bull shit!!"
"Tay..shut up." She looked down to try to hide her blush.
"No, just admit it, Hayley! You LOOOOVVVE HIM!!" I imitated her, laughing my ass off when she hid her face on the desk, and flipped me off.
So Jack and Hayley like each other?? I've SO gotta make this happen.

***************
It was the afternoon now, and Alex and I were on his bed, doing homework. Or at least we were doing homework, but then we just laid back down and took a break.
"How's your day been? Anything new?" Alex asked, stroking my hair while I laid my head on his chest.
"Hm..I passed my chemistry quiz." I shrugged, then accepted his high five when he put his hand out.
"Nice. I'm completely caught up in all my classes, now. Back to all As." He grinned, obviously relieved and proud of himself.
"Oh my gosh! Good job, baby!!" I beamed, giving him a kiss.
"Why, thank you." He smiled, pulling me on top of him.
"I think I might need some more praise..I don't feel congratulated enough." He smirked, causing me to giggle and smirk back.
"Well, I am sooo happy for you.." I whispered, before connecting our lips once again.
"Go, Mr. Gaskarth.." I whispered against his lips.
Next thing I know, he flipped us over, and hungrily moved his lips against mine. He licked at my lip, but I pulled away and smirked at him.
"Nuh uh uh..we've gotta make sure you keep those grades. We need to continue working now, breaks over."
He rolled his eyes and sighed, before getting off of me and sitting back up, turning his attention to the homework. I did the same.
We started working on a report on a war, for History. It was stuff we've all known about since like, middle school, but hey, easy A.
"The Battle of Lexington..let's see.." Alex tapped his pencil on his chin, thinking about what to write.
"You're doing Lexington?"
He nodded in response.
"More like..Alex-ington.." I said quietly, realizing how bad of a joke it was.
He blinked a few times, then looked up at me.
"What did you say?"
"I-I said...Alexington.."
He stared at me for a moment, before his lips slowly curled up, and mine did too, and soon enough, we both busted out laughing.
"That's such a bad joke!!!" Alex laughed uncontrollably.
"I-I know!!" I laughed along with him.
We just continued laughing till our eyes began to water, and then we just started laughing about nothing in particular, till our stomachs started to hurt.
I loved this super giddy feeling, just having fun, joking around with my boyfriend. I live for these fantastic moments with him.
We had been laughing so hard, we didn't even notice the front door open and close. We didn't notice anyone came in, until we heard the man's voice.
"ALEXANDEEERRR!!!!"
Alex's smile instantly changed to a frown. His eyes widened, and he gulped.
"Alex? W-who is that?" I asked, worried about how he was reacting.
"M-my father." He got up off of the bed, and ran to his closet, pulling out some scholarly-looking blazer and button-up, I had never seen before.
"ALEXANDER WILLIAM, GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!!!" His father sounded angry about something.
"COMING, FATHER! JUST A MINUTE!" He yelled back, quickly throwing off his band tee, and shrugging on the button up.
I got up and helped him quickly button his shirt, after he failed on the same button three times, from trying to speed through it.
"Alex, what is all this?" I whispered, obviously confused, as he put his arms in his blazer.
"No time to explain it now..I've gotta go talk to him." He quickly kissed my head, before taking my hand, and heading downstairs.
"Hello, father... I wasn't aware that you were coming here, today." Alex greeted, with his head held high, after clearing his throat.
"Well it is my damn house, is it not?" His dad hissed, causing Alex to gulp out of nervousness.
"Y-yes sir..it is your-"
"WELL DAMN RIGHT, IT IS!"
Alex hung his head in defeat, and took a deep breath, obviously annoyed and uncomfortable. But not nearly as uncomfortable as me, in that moment.
He wasn't even acknowledging my existence at all! Me, the strange girl in his house, holding his son's hand, standing right in front of him!
Alex noticed this too, because he cleared his throat and motioned his head towards me.
His dad only blinked at him.
"Um...FATHER..this is Tay, my girlfriend." He introduced me, squeezing my hand a little tighter.
"Hi, nice to meet you." I politely smiled, and held out my hand for him to shake.
He simply looked down at my hand, then back up at me, before giving me a terribly forced smile.
"Yes, well...Tay..you should be leaving my house now, I must have a..chat with Alexander."
I raised my eyebrows and looked at Alex, who widened his eyes at his father.
"Uh, no! Father, she..she lives here now!"
"Pardon me?!? Are you trying to tell me, that she lives in MY HOUSE??" His dad was starting to turn red with anger.
"Yes, father! You're never here anyway, and I'm sure Janet would accept her!" Alex fought back against his dad.
"Oh, for heaven's sakes!! This is MY house!!! You and Janet do not have shit to do with it! And neither does that." He pointed his chubby finger at me.
I felt shocked, offended, and highly uncomfortable, all at once.
"That?!? Why are you referring to her, as that?! She's a fucking person, dad. A HUMAN BEING!! Why don't you stop treating everyone else like shit! Just because you're successful in your work, doesn't mean that your so spe-"
"Ah! Success!! Since I'm sure you all wouldn't care to have this talk over dinner, let's just do it now!" His father's mouth turned into a sickly grin.
"Oh Alexander, I've read your last report card, and I must say..I am VERY disappointed in you for getting that B. That sure isn't getting you any success!!"
Alex hung his head in shame, as his face fell.
"I pulled it back up to an A.."
"But why did it fall in the first place?!?"
Alex shut his mouth, and looked over to me, with a sad expression on his face.
"OH!! LET ME GUESS, TAY HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT?"
"N-no! It wasn't her fault, I just.."
"Skipped. The school called and said that you skipped a very important day, which I'm guessing, led up to you falling behind, and getting a B. Hm? Is that correct?"
"Y-yes." Alex stared at the floor.
"And who, Alexander, did you skip with?"
Alex glared at his father, and sighed.
"She's got nothing to do with it, dad."
But his father wasn't listening, he just turned all his attention to me.
"Tay, is it? That's an odd name."
"I-it's short for..T-Taylor.." I was quite nervous now.
"T-Taylor?" He mocked me.
"Don't stutter, it makes you sound just as ugly as you look-"
And before I could even register what he was saying, Alex was dragging me out of the house by my hand.
"LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU LEAVE AGAIN, SHITHOLE!!" Alex yelled to his father, before shutting the door behind us.
We got into his car, and he quickly backed out of the driveway, and began to drive through the night.
"Alex? Where are we going?"
"Just going for a drive. I need a breather. It's taking everything out of me not to turn this car around and punch him in his fat, fucking face." Alex snarled, gripping tighter onto the wheel, as he drove down the straight, paved path.
"Oh.. Well, is it okay if I tell you that I officially hate your dad?"
"Well, I hate your step-mom, so I guess we're even." He chuckled, and I laughed, too.
"I see why you felt so pressured.." I started, after a while.
"He's a bit intimidating.."
"Ha, yeah. He has that effect on people." He rolled his eyes.
"Well...w-why?"
Alex sighed.
"He thinks he's like a king, or something. Like everyone else is some peasant to him, because he makes money, and he's so 'proper', and so much better than everybody else."
"Hm.."
So he's basically a narcissistic, snotty bastard.
"But he won't hear any of it, if you tried to tell him. It's just hopeless." He sighed, then his expression changed from anger, to defeat.
"I bet he wasn't such an asshole before my mom died, though...but that's my fault. He blames me for it. Even I blame myself for it. I'm the reason for everyone's pain."
I turned to him in shock.
The fact that his own father would blame him for something like that, and then just expect him to be perfect? It's just..too much. It's wrong.
"Alex...Alex baby, no. That's not your fault. It really isn't. Please don't blame yourself for that, it's not true. He's delusional. He only cares about himself, he doesn't know anything..heck, he hardly even knows you. But I know you, Alex. And I'm glad you were born."
It fell silent for a while. But it didn't matter to me, as long as he was taking my words in. I didn't want Alex to feel that way, ever. No one should ever have to feel unwanted.
"Thank you... Can we change the subject please?" He choked out, loosening his super tight grip on the wheel.
"Sure, babe." I gave him a small smile, and he gave me one back.
"So...uh...Oh yeah!! Hayley and Jack like each other. I've come to the conclusion."
Alex raised his eyebrows.
"Really? Did she tell you?"
"No, silly! She denied it!"
"Ohhhh! So what do you think we should do?"
"We need to bring them together somehow..ooh!! Like..like a double date!!" I gasped, already excited about my idea.
"I married a genius." He joked, winking at me.
"Yep! And I've got the invisible ring to prove it!" I laughed, holding out my hand.
He took my hand and kissed the top of it, before asking-
"But where should we go, babe?"
I thought for a moment.
"ICE SKATING!!!" I screamed.
He gave me a weird look as he turned the steering wheel.
"Jack and I? Ice skating?? Well sure, if you wanna see two idiots behind you, falling on their butts every five seconds."
"Awww!! Come on, babe! It'll be fun! Do it for Jack! Do it for Jack and Hayley! Do it for the love!!" I begged on and on, until he finally gave in.
"Okay, okay! Fine! But I won't enjoy it!"
I squealed in victory, then leaned over, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Oh, I think I'll be able to change your mind.."

Notes

Omg this is horrible, I'm a horrible writer, I apologize. I'm gonna try to work on my writing skills, I'm sorry :c
I would've posted this last night, but couldn't get a hold of the computer, so yeah :/

When this fic ends, (which it won't for like a LOOONNNGG time), try to remember this chapter, because there's something important about this chapter that'll come up later. I won't tell you what, though ;)
I have soooo many things left to write, I bet this is probably gonna last for over 50 chapters..
BUT YOU CAN'T LEAVE NOW BC I'VE GOT YOU SUCKED IN TOO DEEP! MWAHAHAHA!!!
