Everything's Magic

The Best Thing

Jack and Alex sat on the bridge for a little longer, wide, happy smiles painted on their faces, until Jack suggested that they could go back to his and eat everything because his parents are dropping him food in tomorrow.

So as soon as they got home, Jack was ducking into the freezer, grabbing two boxes of ice cream, spoons, and a shit load of other fat foods.

"Good thing I have my bike so I can burn all this off." Alex laughed, helping Jack carry the stuff into the living room, stuffing what he can on the table beside the sofa.

"I'm lanky, so..." Jack shrugged, placing the stuff on the floor, instantly grabbing the tub of ice cream and spoon. Alex rolled his eyes at him, sitting down next to him with a bar of chocolate in his hand.

"Movie?" Jack raised his eyebrow in a questioning way. Alex nodded, getting up to look in the DVD shelf.

Alex picked out a movie: Peter Pan (A/N: Of fucking course).

He used to watch it all the time with his older brother, Tom. Instead of it bringing back bad memories, it brought happy memories of his brother and him. Memories when Tom would stick the movie on for Alex to fall asleep to and stayed by his side until he fell asleep. When Alex got home from school, he'd stick it on the TV in the living room and make him something to eat before sitting down next to him.

They were joined at the hip, until it was time for Tom to go.

Alex stuck the DVD in, walking over to Jack. The skunk haired boy grabbed the bottom of Alex's shirt, pulling him closer to him. Alex just continued to grin, letting Jack pull him down onto the sofa and snuggled up to him while still grasping the chocolate bar.

"I miss watching this with someone. Thanks, Jack." Alex mumbled, his head on Jack's lap, body surrounded by candy wrappers. Jack looked down at Alex, smiling as he leaned down to kiss his cheek.

"You're welcome." He then continued play with Alex's hair with one hand, the other occupied by more chocolate.

This is exactly what he needed: to share kisses, food and watch movies together. That was everything to complete the previous gap in Jack's empty heart.

After the film, Jack looked down to find Alex asleep, chocolate and ice cream smeared all across his mouth. He felt a warm feeling in his belly as he admired the adorable boy asleep in his lap.

He grabbed his phone from the side, finding two new messages.

From: Mum
I'm bringing money and food down tomo at 10 x

He sighed, closing the message. His mum doesn't care - Jack knew that. She only sends messages of notices and information on when they'll be visiting or sending food down, not asking how he was feeling, or what was new.

His dad, however, sent nothing. He hasn't spoke to his dad in at least a year, which hurt Jack quite a lot, seeing as him and his dad were once close.

But he was ill and didn't have enough time to be sending messages or visiting, but more concerned on getting the best health he could.

Jack loved him a lot, but just wished he'd get a text, call or even a visit from his dad at least once, because he missed him.

But Jack wouldn't go over to visit them, because he had no transport or felt like he was welcomed there anymore.

Things change.

Jack opened the second message, finding out it was from the black haired girl in his Science class.

From: Jesse
Come meet me down at the cafe, you now, to make up to the date we never had? Don't let me down, Jack.

Jack felt a painful feeling in his belly: guilt.

The only reason he said yes to going on a date with Jesse in the first place was because she was a cute, nice girl, and that Jack needed to have some social interaction that he was lacking.

But he felt like he should go to the cafe, as Jesse's words strung guilt upon him. He didn't want to let the girl down, again.

He very carefully removed Alex from his lap, kissing his forehead. He then went upstairs to check his face and re-style his hair.

He left a note for Alex on the small table, collecting his phone and quietly leaving the house.

He let the warm air hit him as he made his way to the cafe.

"Oh, hey, you showed up!" Jesse laughed as Jack took a seat across her. Jack nervously laughed, nodding his head.

"Yeah. Sorry about before, it honestly slipped my mind." Jack picked up the coffee that Jesse handed him, taking a short sip while eyeing Jesse nervously.

He didn't want her to think he was a dick, so he tried his best not to act like one.

"Oh, it's fine. But hey, we finally made it." She laughed, her high-pitched voice echoing through Jack's ears.

He felt a little more relaxed as the "date" went on. Jack didn't really like to think of it as a date, because he had Alex, and he felt like it wasn't right to call it a date. Jesse did though, going on about how fun the "date" is, and how she's having a great time so far.

Jack wanted to tell her that he had a boyfriend, but something, like a block, was stopping the words from falling out his mouth.

He didn't know what it was, but it stopped him, and gave him a bad feeling in his gut.

"Anyway, thanks for actually showing up, Jack; it was fun." Jesse said after a while, giving Jack a smile, dimples visible on her cheeks.

"Yeah, it was, thanks." He agreed, watching Jesse grab her bag.

"Another time soon?" She suggested, giving Jack a look that made him weak. He nodded slowly, keeping his mouth shut. She grinned and got up, waving and thanking Jack again.

Jack stayed put, staring off out the window as he watched Jess get in her car.

Alex was awake, and as soon as he felt no body near him and and empty house, he started to panic.

He forgot where he was and how he got in the house. But soon enough, it all came crushing back, and he remembered he was at Jack's, but there was no sign of him.

Noticing the white paper on the table, Alex reached over to grab it, finding messy handwriting covering it.

Alex
I had to be somewhere, and I didn't have the heart to wake you up. By the time you read this, I should be nearly home.
You don't have to wait if you don't wanna. :)
Jack x

Relief washed over his slightly tense body as he finally found the answer to why Jack was absent.

Going to itch his face, he found out it was was all sticky and had chocolate all over.

He groaned, walking upstairs to the bathroom.

After washing with face, he didn't bother much with his hair, only brushing it. He really needed to re-dye his hair and get it cut, as the dye was fading and his hair was getting too long for comfort.

Going back downstairs, he decides to clean up the living room, putting the ice cream back in the freezer and some sweets in the cupboard. He threw all the rubbish in the bin to make the living room a little more clean for when Jack came back home. He also did the washing, remembering Jack saying he hated doing the washing up earlier when they were talking about random bullcrap to get to know each other more.

It's weird how they're dating, but barely know anything about each other. There were still a great amount of stuff they had to tell each other, rather soon or later.

As soon as Alex put the last plate in the cupboard, the door opened, an instant smile on his face.

Walking in view of the front door, he saw a sexy looking Jack Barakat walking his way.

"Hi." Alex greeted, wrapping his hands around Jack's waist for a quick hug.

Jack gave him a welcoming smile, discarding his arms from around Alex's waist.

"Sorry I went without waking you up. You just looked so cute and peaceful, that I didn't have the guts to." Jack pouted, his arms re-joining Alex's hips. The pink haired boy laughed, pulling his arms over Jack's neck, even though it was a little stretch - as he was tall.

"I probably would've moan at you if did wake me up." Alex laughed again. He isn't really a morning person, although when he does wake up early he goes outside to explore the city.

"You're good at moaning at me." Jack smirked slyly, moving himself closer to Alex. Said boy blushed, before moving his arms away from Jack.

"Yeah, well." Alex shrugged, not bothering to continue what he was going to say. Jack chuckled, removing himself from Alex, then went in the living room with Alex following close behind.

"Oh, wow. It's clean in here. Did you do this?" Jack turned around confusedly, looking at Alex. The younger male just nodded, feeling his cheeks warm up slightly.

"You didn't have to, but it's still nice of you. Come here." Jack grinned, gesturing Alex to come forward. He did so, a little nervously standing in front of the taller boy, wondering what he was going to do.

He felt Jack's fingers over his hot cheeks, and he pulled their faces close. Jack gave Alex a look as if he was trying to ask if it was okay, because he didn't know if Alex was uncomfortable. When Alex nodded, Jack instantly pulled Alex in for a sweet kiss, brushing his nose with his own.

They didn't really kiss much after they made themselves official, so the kiss the were sharing now held a lot of feelings they've had since earlier.

Pulling back, Alex's cheeks were completely red and flustered, so he shyly ducked his head.

"You're cute." Jack commented, finding the boy in front of him overly adorable. He admired the way Alex's dimples would show when he's embarrassed, adding so much more to his cuteness.

"Whatever." Alex mumbled, embarrassment still loud and clear in his voice and face. Jack laughed, leaning forward and kissing Alex's cheek.

"Jack," Alex giggled, yes giggled , hinding his face under his hair, "stop it."

"No," Jack planted a kiss on his nose, forehead and both his cheeks before finally stopping.

"Have you had anything to eat?" He asked, suddenly concerned. He was out for at least an hour and a half to two hours. Knowing that most people don't like helping their selves - aka, Alex- he was a little worried.

"I ate some of the spare chocolate we didn't eat earlier." Alex said, as his cheeks slowly cooled down. He honestly didn't want to eat any of Jack's food, just as Jack's suspicion, as Jack hadn't told him he could help himself.

"Come on, let's make breakfast before my parents deliver more food," Jack took Alex's hand, leading him over to the kitchen. Alex was worried about meeting Jack's parents, but he decided to think of positive things to calm the anxiety.

"Seriously, you cleaned up in here, too? You're amazing."

"You said you didn't like washing up, so I thought I might as well do it for you." Alex watched Jack grab a two clean plates, placing them on the cleaned side before grabbing the food.

"You're the best." Jack moved over to Alex and gave him a gentle peck on the lips.

Maybe Alex was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Notes

Aye.
So I'm super tired right now, but I got the rest of this written.
I haven't been sleeping properly. I've been going to bed at 1pm - 6pm. Yes, fucking pm. I'm just nervous because I'm starting anew school in a couple of days, so I wanna make these days last (by staying in my bedroom, wow).
I only get about 4-6 hours sleep, so that's why my writing is shit (it always is, anyway).

Sorry so swearing so much in this authors note, but I'm half asleep and 50% know what I'm writing right now.

I know you don't care, but whatever.

Have a nice day, okay? Goodbye, and I hope you get more sleep than me because it's not great being tired all the time.
