Sick Little Games

Rian POV:

From: Jack Barakat- "Dude, I need you to do me a massive favour. Can you get Alex over to yours tonight? I'll come over, as usual, but I need to sorr this out, I need him to forgive me. He wouldn't come if he knew I set this up so could you not mention it, thanks, I owe you."

The things I do for this guy. I sent a quick reply letting him know that I'd do it. I'm not just doing this for Jack, I'm doing this for everyone's sake. Jack's sake because, even though he has been a total dick, he deserves to be happy. Alex's sake bexause he, too, deserves to be happy and I genuinely think Jack and Alex would be really good for each other. And everyone else's sake because, seriously, this is dragging us all down. I'd find Alex at break and ask him.

I hurried out of English and rushed down to Alex's locker, knowing that is exactly where he'd be.
"Hey, dude."Alex spun on his heel. He looked like shit. "Woah, what's up with you?"
"Is I say that he's a total prick and his name begins with a 'J', would you know who I'm on about?" I could feel the hatred towards Jack. I sighed, already knowing how tonight would end.
"I'm guessing you mean Jack? Well, anyway, wanna come tound to mine tonight? Take your mind off him?" Come on, I had to get him there somehow.
"Yeah, sounds good. Do you know what he did earlier? He pulled me into a fucking cupboard and tried to explain...again! He can't just apologise and then expect everything to be okay, Rian. It's not the way it works."
"I know, man, I know. He'll realise soon enough though. We could talk about it later if you want."
"Yeah, thanks. I mean it, thank you. You're thw first proper friend I've had since I was seven."
"I'm glad, you're an awesome guy, Alex. I'll meet you outside the gates, yeah?" Alex nodded and I walked off to find Jack and tell him that, so far, his plan was working. I just hope he doesn't do a classic Jack and screw this up forever."

Alex's POV:

For the second time in less than twenty four hours, I had a genuine smile on my face. I really like Rian, I really do. And the nice thing? I don't see him as more than a friend, he's more like a brother to me. No, my type of guys is pretty specific: tall, lanky, dark hair with blonde streaks, cocky and a massive dickhead. Why do I always pick the worst ones? I headed off to my next class, bubbling with excitment. It's nice to finally have a friend.

Final bell had just gone and I practically skipped out to the gates, Rian was already waiting...unfortuneately, he was talking to Jack. Great.
"ALEXXXXX!!"
"Fuck off, Jack." Jack's face turned from happy and hopeful to disappointment and hurt. Good. It might help him understand how he's been making me feel all this time.
"Come on, Alex, let's go." Rian put a hand on my shoulder and led me away from Jack, who stood rooted to the spot, face still showing the hurt expression. Rian and I turned and walked away from school, Rian throwing a 'see you later' to Jack, me just throwing him a glare. Hang on, see you later? See you later? What was that supposed to mean? Calm down, Alex. It's just a mates thing. Rian and I walked back to his, stopping for a few cans of Monster on the way, we talked about the funny things that had happened during the day and laughed about a teacher tripping and falling up the row of desks, successfully flashing her underwear as she did so.

Rian and I had spent the last few hours on his X-Box, listening to Blink-182 and talking about Jack.
"You know when you get that feeling that it's so wrong, it right?" Rian nodded. "That's how I feel. He's been fucking horrible to me but I couldn't help but think how attractive he is. I'm starting to piss myself off with it now." I sighed, getting this off my chest was helping a lot more than I thought.
"Why don't you just give him a second chance? Everyone deserves a second chance, right?"
"I guess, but what if this is all just a sick little game to him? What if he's just playing me?"
"He's not, Alex, trust me. I've known Jack for a while now, I know how he truly feels, I can read him like a book."
"I don't know, Ri. I want to give him another go but I'm scared. I've had people be dicks to me for most of my life. I don't want to finally let someone in only for them to crush me again."
"I understand what you mean." We fell silent for a while, a comfortable atmosphere surrounding us. We were pulled out of their thoughts by the front door slamming, I jumped slightly, and looked at Rian in hope that he'd know who it was. He just shrugged. Rian's bedroom door creaked open.
"Hey, Rian...Lex?" Lex? I know that voice but I couldn't quite place it. The door opened a little more and I could now see who was stood there, looking a little nervous. I stood yp, a sudden wave on anger flowing through me.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE, JACK?"
