Time Bomb

I woke up to a contraction ripping through me, as I sat up the top of my head came into contact with Alex’s chin causing him to hiss in pain while I curled up in my own pain. When mine was over I looked back at Alex who was holding his chin.
“I’m sorry Lex.” I said
He just looked at me.
“You’re fine, are you okay?” He asked
I nodded.
“Let me get your doctor.” He said climbing out of bed.
He left the room and another came through me. I screamed and felt tears run down my face. I grabbed my phone and texted Mack that I needed her and Jimmy. Alex walked back in with my doctor and she smiled at me.
“You’ve got two visitors outside but I want to check your cervix first.” She said
I nodded and let her do her doctor thing.
“Well, well, well. Looks like we’re making some progress. We’re up to six. You’ve been here six hours so one centimeter an hour.” She said
“I’m going to be in labor forever!” I cried.
“Not forever, just ten hours of this and then some more.” She said with her cheery smile.
I whimpered.
“I’ll come check on you soon.” She said
I nodded and she walked out letting Mack and Jimmy came in. As soon as Jimmy saw me in tears he ran to my side.
“Oh princess, I don’t like to see you in this much pain.” He said
“It’s good pain. I’m having a baby.” I said
“I know, and I can’t wait to meet her.” He said
I smiled at him and he slicked sweaty hair off my face and onto the top of my head.
“Alex why did you let your very pregnant wife pack on her own?” Jimmy asked towering over Alex.
“James.” I snapped
He looked over at me.
“I let him take a nap, I was just packing the dishes. Just because I’m pregnant doesn’t mean that I’m helpless. I’m stubborn and instead of taking a nap with him I told him I was going to pack.” I said
“He should have stayed up to help you pack.” He said corning Alex.
Alex just stood there, I could tell he was a little frightened because Jim was intimidating.
“Look Jimmy, I know. Trust me I fucking know, I feel like the worst person on the planet. I have been beating myself up since it happens so I don’t need you in my face telling me that I’m a shitty person.” Alex snapped.
“Guys please stop, it is fucking over okay? I’m here getting ready to have a healthy baby so I need you guys to get over it.” I snapped.
I was done with this, I knew someone was going to say something about it but Alex has been literally beating himself up over it. I keep telling him it’s okay but he won’t listen. I was the one who told him to nap, I had been packing with Mack for weeks and I was fine. The baby was fine, she was healthy.
“Okay? I’m getting ready to have a baby so you two need to put them away and get on with life.” I said
“Baby soon?” Jimmy asked
“I’m dilating one centimeter an hour.” I said
“Hey! Six centimeters is passed the half way mark.” Mack said
I nodded and she gave me a sweet smile. I looked up at Jimmy and he smiled. I wanted to smile but I just cried instead, he gave me a small smile and just bent down and hugged me.
“I’m going to go update the others.” He said
“Who’s here?” I asked
“Everyone.” He smiled.
“Everyone?” I asked
He nodded.
“That poor lobby.” I said
“I would say the poor famous people.” He laughed.
“Your life is just so hard.” I said scrunching up my face at him.
He rolled his eyes and kissed me on the nose.
“I love you.” He said
“I love you too.” I smiled.
He walked away and Mack looked at me.
“She’s moving so slow, I’m ready to meet my niece.” He said
“I’m ready to meet my daughter.” Alex said
“You two be patient.” I said
Alex pouted at me.
“I could push her out faster.” He said
“Shut your mouth.” I snapped.
“Mouth shut. Do you want ice chips?” He asked.
“Yes please, and go say hello to everyone.” I said
He nodded and kissed me before walking out of the room.
“It’ll be over soon mama bear.” Mack said as she sat next to me.
“I want it over now.” I said
“I know, at least you’ve got me. I’m here with experience.” She said
“Speaking of, where is she?” I asked
“At Mrs. Lowes.” She said
“Is Jack L going to see her?” I asked
“I don’t know, he didn’t even want to fight for her custody. That just makes me think he didn’t really want her… you know what I mean?” She asked
“I do. But Barakat does. He loves that little girl and that little girl loves her.” I said
“He’s a good guy.” She said
“He is.” I smiled.
She laid back with me and took my hand.
“We’re gonna get through this funny thing called life.” She said
“I just feel like, I’ve been so stressed out Mack. I’m like a ticking time bomb and I just feel like at any second I’m going to explode.” I said
“Well hopefully when this little girl explodes out you’ll feel a little better for a while.” She said
“Thank you for that image.” I said
“Just wait till Alex sees your cum cave when you’re crowning.” He said
“You’re literally disgusting.” I said
She looked at me and have me a big smile.
“But you love me this way right?” I asked
“Well it’s the only way I’ll take you. Never change.” I said

“Saggy boobs and dried up sausage wallets.” She laughed.
I laughed and laughed right through a contraction.
“Laughing works to dull the pain.” She smiled

She slapped my leg and rolled her eyes.
Three agonizing hours went by and I was done, I was so tired and so done with this crap. I was a crying, sweaty, and snotty mess. I don’t know how Alex could stand to be in the room with me like this.
“Hey sunshine how ya doing?” My doctor asked.
“I’m ready for my fate. Am I dying?” I asked
“No you’re not dying silly.” She laughed
I gave her the weakest smile.
“So my dear Ryan.” She said
“What?” I asked
“You’re not dying but you’re ready to have a baby!” She exclaimed.
“Baby time!” Mack yelled
I looked over at Alex and he was beaming like the sun.
“No.” I said
“No?” Mack asked confused.
“I’m not doing it. I refuse.” I said crossing my arms over my chest.
“Are you fucking kidding me right now?” She asked
Alex just started laughing.
“What’s so funny Lex?” I snapped.
“You, you’re adorable.” He said
I grunted.
“Ryan it’s time.” My doctor said
“I don’t want to.” I said
“Well that’s too fucking bad isn’t it princess.” Mack said
I glared at her.
“Look at me like that all you want, I’m putting my foot down and you will be pushing that little girl out of your penis fly trap.” She said
Alex choked on what must have been his spit.
“Excuse me her what?” He asked
“You heard me.” She said
I laughed and smiled.
“Let’s have a baby!” I shouted
We all cheered and my doctor wheeled me out.
“Wait!” I yelled
“What baby?” Alex asked me.
“My dad.” I said
“What about him?” Mack asked
“I need him. I need my dad.” I said
“He’s here, I will go get him.” Mack said
I nodded and she ran off and Alex grabbed my hand.
“Ry.” He said
“Yeah?” I cried.
“We’re having a baby.” He said
I nodded and when we got to the delivery room my doctor smiled at me as Alex gowned up. He came in and then my dad came in with his gown.
“Daddy I’m so sorry.” I cried
“Don’t I’m the one who is sorry. I should not have acted like I did. I was scared to lose you.” He said
“You’re not going to lose me you’re my dad and always the number one man in my life..” I said
He smiled.
“Well I don’t want to be that guy but I really don’t want to be in here for this. Is that okay?” He asked
I nodded and he kissed my forehead and ran out of the room.
“You ready Ryan?” My doctor asked.
I nodded.
“Are you in pain?” she asked
“That’s a stupid fucking question don’t ya think? Can I push this baby out?” I snapped
She laughed, and gave me a look.
“Push.” She said
I screamed and screamed, cried and literally blamed Alex for everything.
“One last push baby girl.” Alex cooed into my ear.
“Fuck you Alex, you push one more time.” I snapped
He didn’t back away this time and I took a deep breath and pushed one more time.
That. That I when I heard the most beautiful noise, the loud cry of my daughter, I looked up at Alex and he had tears in his eyes.
“They’re going to take her and do her tests, we’re gonna finish the delivery and take you back to your room. We’ll bring her to you.” My doctor said after Alex clipped the cord.
I nodded.
Everything was done, and I was back in my room cleaned up, sewed up and ready to meet my baby. I was jealous Alex got to lay eyes on her first.
“Alright Ryan are you ready?” My nurse asked
“Yes! Gimme.” I said
She handed me the most perfect baby girl, the tears came down my face as I looked at my husband. He crawled into the bed with me and kissed me lightly on the lips.
“She’s perfect.” He cried.
“She looks like you.” I said
“No, like you.” He said
I looked over at him as he stared down at our little girl.
“Oh, look at those eyes.” He said
I looked down and smiled, they were mine.
“I told you.” He said
I smiled.
“Those eyes are yours.” He said
“They’re mine.” I said
“You ready for me to get the lot.” He said
“Get everyone. Oh my poor doctor is going to have trouble getting in here.” I said
“I’ll get the most important ones.” He said
“They’re all important.” I said
He smiled and he walked out of the room, a few minutes later he came back in with four people. Mack, Barakat, my dad, Jimmy.
“Hi guys.” I smiled weakly
“Is this her?” Mack asked
I nodded and she walked over to me.
“Oh my god, she’s precious.” She said
“Want to hold her?” I asked
She nodded and I handed her my bundle.
“Look at her.” She whispered.
“I want to see.” My dad said walking up to Mack.
I smiled.
“Does grandpa want to hold you?” Mack asked her in a baby voice.
“Yes grandpa wants to her.” My dad said
I smiled as she handed her over to my dad.
“Oh kiddo. She’s so beautiful.” He said
I looked up at him and he was crying lightly, but crying all the same.
“Daddy you’re crying.” I said
“I’m so happy.” He said
She got passed around to everyone until she was handed to Barakat. He looked down at her and smiled.
“Hi little one. I’m your uncle Jack and I’ve been waiting a long time to meet you.” He said rubbing his nose on her small one.
I smiled at the love in this room.
“She’s got Ryan’s eyes. Alex I’m surprised you could make a baby this cute.” He said looking up at his best friend.
“Shut up.” Alex said
Jack walked back over to us sitting in my bed and gave me her back, that’s when the doctor walked in.
“Alright guys it’s time. Do we have a name?” She asked
“Yes.” Alex and I both said
Everyone looked at us.
“Do the honors my love.” Alex said
“Her name is.” I said pausing to get everyone attention.
“Spit it out.” Mack said
“Aspen Rose Gaskarth.” I said.
