I groaned rolling over to shove my face further into my pillow to shield my eyes from the blinding sun only to realize my movements were restrained.

Lifting my head I squinted around the iridescent room at the figures lying around me.

How the hell did I end up in the basement?

I looked to the shape that had been restricting my mobility to see -shocker to no one - Alex curled up to my side as he lightly snored. Spooned behind him cuddled Jack. That’s when I looked over to noticed it wasn’t just the three of us sprawled on the now pulled out futon couch as I looked over to see Andrea also pressing me to the couch with a single arm and a single leg draped over me as she snored. I laughed as I caught a glance of Vinny sprawled beyond her.

I let out another groan as I gave up and rolled back onto my back. "Stop," Alex groaned tightening his grip on my side as he pulled himself closer to me, "go back to bed!" He groaned nudging his nose against my shoulder causing me to laugh.

"Alex I got to get up!" I whispered as I tried to wiggle from both his and Andrea's slumbering hold.

"Nooo!" He whined pouting. "It’s cold, stay here and keep me warm!"

I rolled my eyes as I pulled from his grasp and crawled on top of him. He rolled onto his back as he blinked the sleep from his eyes. His brown orbs rolling over my body as I sat on his hips, a slug smile pulling at his lips as he ran his fingers up and down the base of my spine. I wondered how this would look if anyone had woken up, the way he was looking up at me, the look in his eyes as he rubbed small circles into my hipbones with his thumbs. I smirked down as I graced my lips to his ear, "then get a blanket." I smirked before sitting up and pulling myself of the couch to stumble to the stairs.

"Oh no you don't" he laughed catching my arm causing me to fall back into his body so we were chest to chest.

"They could wake up." I whispered sitting up on his stomach, straddling him once again as I flickered my eyes towards our friends and he took both my hands in his.

"So?" He smirked flicking his eyebrows as he slowly entwined my fingers with his.

"Cass is already convince you want to sleep with me, and Rian already though that once." I whispered.

"Let them think what they want!" He hushed running a hand on my jaw, "we know what’s true and we know what’s already happened stays between us."

"But why add to the fire?" I whispered pulling his hand from my face.

"I’ve kissed jack more times than vie kissed you," he chuckled, "if everything they thought were true, I’d be gay."

I shook my head with a smile avoiding his eyes as they lingered on mine. The whole thing was weird. Going from being so distant from Alex for so long, to hating him, to being friends, to hating him again, to this. Our friendship was so bipolar and I couldn’t help the urge to keep myself distant. Every fiber of my being was telling me to push away, to protect myself. I knew my mind was trying distance myself from him knowing that at any moment the whole thing could flip and id lose him.

Ignoring the screams of my mind I leaned forward to curl into his warm chest allowing him to run a hand through my light brown hair. I knew being around him and acting like that was dangerous. But the sensation of losing him in an instant made me only want to be closer to him. To cherish the good times with him while they were still around.

"Do you really care that much about what they think?" He hummed.

"I don't know, I just don't want things to be weird." I shrugged running my fingers over his chest, "you know they wouldn’t let it go if they knew what happened."

"Who cares?" He shrugged as I sat up to look down on him, "well I mean I know you do because if anyone here as much as rolled over, you would be off me and asleep in the blink on an eye."

"And you wouldn’t?" I asked.

"Nah!" He shook his head, "because no matter what I do, your mind is made up, nothing matters."

"What’s that supposed to mean?" I laughed.

"It means that even if I upright and kissed you right now-"

"Right now?"

"Yes right now, if I kissed you right now, like this instant, it’d mean nothing, so why should what they think mean anythi-"

His words caught in his throat as I leaned forward and allowed my hot breath to linger against his waiting lips, as if he was anticipating me to kiss him. I watched as his eyes slid shut and his breathing hitched when my breath nipped at his quivering lips but I made no movement. When I felt him shift his weight a smirk glazed itself onto my face and I pulled away, leaving Alex confused and frustrated.

"Nothing?" I smirked cocking a brow as he silently shook his head, his wide eyes never leaving mine as I crawled off of him to get to the stairs. "Tell that too little Alex." I smirked trying to hide my own rose blushed cheeks.

"I hate you." He scrunched bluntly

I looked over my shoulder to send him one last chuckle as I looked down on him rubbing a hand over his face. I shook my head in satisfaction before pulling myself up the stairs.

"Well good morning sunshine!" Rian chimed as I pulled myself up onto a stool at the island and he slid a mug of orange juice in front of me.

I folded my arms over one another, burying my forehead within to shield my eyes from the blinding sunlight. All that escaped was an ungodly groan as a mix of voices chuckled causing my head to lift from its cool place on the granite island top. "What are y'all doing here?" I groaned scratching a hand through my matted ponytail. My gray blue eyes scanned over the faces of a few of my friends consisting of, Marc, Cass, Matt and Zack.

"Someone fell asleep while we were packing up and had to be carried to the car so we could all get back here and stay over." Zack explained rubbing a hand on my back as I buried my face into my palms.

"Sorry guys!" I spilled with a chuckle that was still dipped in sleep.

"Don't you had a long day, just wish I was a nugget and could have been carried." Rian laughed.

"I’m not a nugget!" I snapped gaining a giggle from Cass.

"Everyone else still asleep?" Marc laughed leaning back on his elbows into the counter behind him as I puffed crossing my arms over my chest.

"Almost everyone." A voice grumbled as it flicked my head and I laughed knowing to whom it belonged.

"Oh did little ol' me wake you up?" I gaped slapping a hand over my mouth with a giggle.

"Watch it!" He grumbled smashing a hand to my face with a laugh.

"Y'all are weird!" Matt grumbled as Alex pooled onto the stool beside me with a shove.

"You have no idea!" Rian laughed turning around when I noticed he had been baking pancakes. "Who wants one?" He smiled as he slid the last few on top of a mountain.

We all cheered as he slid the plate into the center of the island and I got up to get everyone else plates and utensils.

As we all sat down to eat as the warm aroma slowly led the last few stragglers up stairs to the kitchen till the group was complete again.

We were all sitting around the island discussing some random story Matt and Zack were telling about something that had happened last summer when I noticed Alex stiffen beside me. "What’s up?" I whispered leaning my head on his arm as he looked down at his phone. His eyes grew hard as he continued to glare at the phone. "Alex what is it?" I asked placing a calm hand on his wrist.

"Nothing." He spat glaring at the screen.

"Alex?" I hushed as the phone buzzed again and his jaw set.

"I have to go." He all but growled pushing from the counter catching the attention of the laughing group as he stormed from the room. I caught Rian's eyes as he seemed to be the only one to have caught onto his odd change in behavior. I swallowed as I stood and trotted down the front hall to catch Alex slipping on his shoes at the door.

"Alex what’s going on?" I asked trying to keep my voice level though his behavior not only confused me but scare me a little.

"I can’t say." He mumbled looking down at his feet. “Not yet.”

"Alex?" I cooed stepping forward as he pulled me into a tight hug.

"I’m sorry," he muttered into my hair, "I have to do this."

"Alex you have to do what?" I asked as he pulled the door open and was gone in an instant. My gut sinking to my butt as the tables turned and I watched him walk away.
