I wish I could

I was surprised. Really, really surprised. No nightmares? No panic attack when waking up? No dreams to haunt me all day long? I had to tell Jack.

“Jacky! Wake up!” I squealed, shaking him. He grunted and pulled up the blanket. I pulled it off again, shaking him violently. Finally, he opened his eyes and glared at me. But when he saw my happiness, his facial expression softened.

“What is it, you annoying ball of cuteness?” he asked.

“No nightmares!” I squealed.

“Ooh, that is great! Come here, let me hug you!” I happily went in for the hug and we cuddled for some more before I decided to get up and make us some breakfast. I felt free and happy, not being held down by the heavy remnants of a dark night. I danced around the kitchen, opening packages, closing cupboards while making up a song which I swayed my hips to.

“Nice moves,” Jack commented with a wide grin.

“I thought you were in bed,” I said, blushing like a madman. But he shushed me and joined me in my dance, bouncing his hip against mine, singing at the top of his lungs and jut generally being cute and fun.

After this, we enjoyed our food, pancakes. They were delicious and we decided to do this more often in the future. Then, we collapsed in front of the TV. It was rainy outside so it wouldn’t have been that nice anyways if we had gone outside. We watched all the Home Alone DVDs we had and couldn’t bother to get up afterwards so we just stayed on the sofa, me playing with Jack’s hair.

“Jacky, imagine if it stayed like this. No more nightmares,” I said quietly.

“It’d be so great. I’d be happy because I wouldn’t have to worry about you and the medication anymore, plus you doing well makes me happy,” he replied.

“Maybe we can make it work. I feel that you being with me helps a lot,” I said.

“I will be at your side for as long as you need it. I will try to stay with you at night. I love you,” he responded softly, turning his head to look at me.

“I love you more,” I gave back, kissing his soft lips.
We fell asleep only shortly after.

I know this is super short but I'm preparing something that I think you will really like for this story.
I don't know if I can post tomorrow because it will probably be stressy, I'm sorry!
