I wish I could

The others had tried to hold me back but I had refused. They were not going to stop me from helping Alex, no matter how hard Matt had hit me. They had told me Alex had swallowed some pills and I wanted to help him calm down further. It seemed to work and I told him not to worry about leaving me. He fell asleep quickly and I waited until he was snoring adorably before I left.

I talked to the others once more; Zack had helped before by pulling Matt off me and securing him tightly so he couldn’t move anymore. After it, they had shoved him out of the door and told him that if he’d come back, they’d call the police. The others told me that they’d stay for another thirty minutes before leaving. Rian helped me with my black eye.

I couldn’t fall asleep after returning to Alex. I had to think about Matt and I couldn’t help but worry about Alex. What if Matt would attack him?

After what seemed like ages I finally managed to fall asleep.

The next morning, I woke up with Alex still next to me. I realized it was the day Alex had a family dinner. I woke him up by kissing his neck softly and he soon mumbled something and turned around to kiss me. It was adorable.

After a day of cuddling, I reluctantly had to let Alex go to see his family. I for my part stayed home to watch TV.

At around 11 pm I was having a snack when I got a call. I wasn’t able to take it immediately but when I took it, all the blood drained from my face.

“Jack… Help… Opera,” Alex stammered before he got silent, the phone fell to the ground and I could only hear steps of someone running away.

Panic rushed through my body. I didn’t care if I had my PJs on, I needed to save Alex.

I got in my car quickly, not forgetting my keys and just to be armed, a big knife.

After five minutes, I arrived at the opera. It was dimly lit but I could make out a body laying on the floor. I started running, the blood pulsing through my veins, heart beating harder and harder. I knelt down beside the person and felt a liquid soak my pants as well as glass shards cutting through my pants..

It was Alex. I froze. The whole world seemed to stand still.

I looked for his pulse.
