I wish I could

I run through the Glass in the Street (Jack POV)

Thank god his pulse was there. I almost started crying with relief, I could never lose this boy. I got my phone out and called an ambulance.

At the hospital, I was told he had been hit with a glass bottle. He had suffered a major concussion as well many cuts.

I was strangely numb at first, but after some time, pain slowly crept into my heart. It was some kind of a stinging in the region of my heart. First, it was only pain for Alex being hurt and me not being able to prevent it, but soon it developed into me being angry at the asshole hurting him.
I had an idea who it might’ve been the attacker. Matt. He had been jealous at us and he was the type of guy who got aggressive easily. I paced up and down the hallway while Alex was being cared for.

The pain got stronger until I couldn’t bear it anymore. It radiated into my extremities and I hugged myself in an attempt to keep myself from falling apart. I could’ve lost Alex.

When they finally let me in to see him, he was propped up against loads of pillows, his head bandaged. He was paler than usual and the circles under his eyes were especially bluish today.
I almost didn’t want to touch him; I was scared I would break something. But when I did, I couldn’t believe he was real. His hand was so cold; one could’ve mistaken him for dead.

I sat down at his bedside for a long time. He weakly smiled at me; I hesitated to kiss him since his head was damaged after all.

But there was one thing I did.

“Alex, do you remember anything?” I asked cautiously.

“About what?” he retorted.

“Why you are in hospital, hooked up to an IV and a bandage around your head,” I explained.

“No… I just know that I left my family, a bit drowsy from taking a pill and that’s where my memories cut out.”

“Alex, are you still taking those pills?” I said worriedly. I had given the bottle to him several weeks ago, shouldn’t he already be finished with them?

“No, it’s… it’s nothing. Don’t worry Jack,” he responded, slightly blushing.

“Lex, I’m just worried. If anything comes up, please tell me. I only want to help,” I offered.

I stayed with him that night, not letting go of his hand. After some hours and a lot of pondering about the attacker and what was going on with my boyfriend and these pills, I finally fell asleep.

Notes

Hey look, Alex's alive!

@NONAMETAGD
aaahh I really don't know? I get so bad with sequels, I still haven't finished Chased by the Future and also I'm really into Homeless right now.

I guess I can maybe make one chapter as a sequel and post it in here if I find the time to do so if more people want me to do it? :)
