A Tongue Like a Nightmare That Cut Like a Blade

"Anyway what happened was...”

When Alex woke up, he found a girl with one blue eye and one green eye staring at him. He didn’t see any anger in them which was good. He had been afraid that she would never want to talk to him again. He hesitantly put his hand to her face and stroked it with his thumb. Aurora didn’t move. She just kept staring at him.
“Are you mad at me?” he asked her.
“No,” she answered like if she had been talking all her life.
“You spoke, so does that mean...”
“I’ve given up my silence, well, at least for you anyway.”
“That’s good. You have a beautiful voice you know.”
“Thanks. My dad used to always tell me that.”
“That song you were singing the other day was about him right?”
“Yeah, it was.”
“What happened to him? Why do you blame yourself so much?”
“Its my fault that he’s dead. If only I...”
“If only you what?”
“I might as well tell you what happened to him. Alesia is the only one that knows, and it would be nice if someone else does too especially since I like that person.”
“So you do like me?”
“Of course I do. I wouldn’t have let you take my virginity if I didn’t.”
“I thought you hated me though because I heard you sing.”
“I was mad at myself, but that doesn’t matter anymore. Anyway what happened was...”
“No!” I screamed at my dad. “We are not moving!”
“But sweetie...,” my mom tried to say.
I don’t care about your excuses! We are not moving! All of my friends are here. I will not go to some school where I don’t know anyone. Alesia is here too. How is she going to be with no one.”
“She has...”
“I know she has grandma, but she doesn’t have any friends. The only friend she has is me.”
“She’ll be fine on her own.”
“How do you know that?”
My mom finally snapped. “We are moving, and there is nothing you can do about it.”
“Like hell I can’t.”
I walked out the door and slammed it will all my might. I couldn’t believe that we were going to move. It’s not easy being the new kid, and they knew that. They also knew how close I was to my deaf cousin. She was my best friend. I couldn’t just leave her.
That was where I was going. I walked down the street and to my grandma’s house. Alesia opened the door and smiled at me. She let me inside, sn we went up to her room. The two of us sat down on her bed that was covered in stuffed animals. I smiled at the sight before frowning at what I had been told earlier.
“What’s wrong?” she asked me.
I sighed. “I’m moving.”
“Where are you moving to?”
“I don’t know. I wouldn’t let them tell me. I stormed out and came here.”
“They can’t take you away from me. You’re my only friend.”
“That’s what I tried telling them, but they wouldn’t listen to me.” Silence filled the room. I finally Aurora started to sign again. “I’m not going back.”
“What?”
“I’m not going back.”
“Then stay here with me.”
I did stay with Alesia and grandma. My parents ended up not moving. They stayed in our house. Everyday they begged me to come home and move with them, but I never let them explain anything. I was not going to leave my life behind.
Eventually, I got a call from my mom telling me to go to the hospital. I knew that I had no choice because something terrible had happened. My family is not one to get sick, and if we do, it’s just a cold.
My grandma drove me to the hospital. I don’t think she knew what was happening because she wouldn’t talk to my parents about moving. I went inside the building and found my mom waiting for me. She didn’t say anything. She just let me to a room.
Inside was my dad laying down on the bed with wires in his arms. I had never seen him so sickly. I walked over to him, and he smiled at me. His hand motioned me to sit down next to him. I did so.
“Dad, what’s wrong?”
“I’m not going to make it sweetheart.”
“What are you talking about? What happened to you?”
“I’ve been ill for sometime. This hospital doesn’t have the proper medication and treatment for me.”
“What’s why we were going to move?” He nodded. “Dad, I’m so sorry. I should have listened.”
“It’s ok sweetheart. Would you do me a favor and sing me one last song?”
We sung the first song that we had ever seen together before he finally stopped breathing. Tears started to spill down my eyes. At that moment, I made a promise to myself and my dad that I would never let anyone hear my voice ever again. Singing was our thing, and it will stay that way.

When I first put my stories up, there was an option when creating a story. I've been asked this before, but when I looked to find it, it wasn't there anymore. As far as I know, they don't have the option anymore. It would be nice if it was there again since this story and another of mine need it, but sadly, it's not there.

Thanks! That's one of the best comments that I've ever gotten. As I say in real life because I'm a Japan loving anime freak. Arigatou gozaimasu!

This is so heartbreakingly perfect
@missymoo93
I'm happy you found it cute. I didn't know if it was going to be too cheesy because I'm a hopeless romantic that loves that stuff, and sometimes I think of really cheesy stuff.
Thanks!
