Chasing the Future

It was another week later. I was about to have a job interview, Alex was putting the finishing touches to my suit. The few bruises on my neck that still hadn’t faded were luckily covered by the collar. Alex pulled a bit at my hair.

“No leave my hair alone,” I winced. “It was so perfect before but now…”

“No aw Jay, it looks perfect,” Alex replied, kissing me on the nose. “You gotta go now.”

I kissed him goodbye, kissed Mari goodbye and petted the dog and the cats some more. Time to leave.

The interview went well. It was a job in marketing that was connected to bands which firstly made it attractive to me and secondly made me attractive to them since I had lots of experience with bands. They told me they would call me but I could see the secretary giving me a thumbs-up as I left.

I decided to surprise Alex and bought some flowers and chocolates. He had been the cutest ever during the past two weeks and I felt like rewarding him somehow. I came back home to see Mari playing with the animals. The cats and the dog liked each other surprisingly much, it was nice to see.

I went to the kitchen to see Alex who was preparing a delicious meal. He turned around to kiss me hello and I whipped out the flowers and the sweets. He sighed.

“No oh my God Jay, thank you so much! But what for?” he asked, smiling broadly.

“For you being a wonderful husband,” I said, smiling and kissing his cheek. He put away the flowers before hugging me tightly and kissing me. How had I missed these kisses!

We ate dinner, me feeding Mari. It took a long time but finally, she had accepted all her mashed potatoes. We brought her to bed and tucked her in, Alex singing a little lullabye to her.

He was so cute; I couldn’t resist, I had to kiss him again. He kissed back, hungrier and more passionately than before. He removed my jacket and my tie before pushing me in the direction of our bedroom, grabbing the box of chcoclates on the way.

“How about serving the chocolates in some special places?” he purred seductively and pushed me on the bed.

This probably was the final chapter, I'm not sure if I'll do an epilogue. I hope you liked this story, it means a lot to me that so many people read it as well as the first part, Chased be the Past.
