Chasing the Future

It was the morning after. I stretched, feeling very content with myself. I had pleasured Alex the night before, his moans were still echoing through my mind…

I got up to make breakfast. Mari was now able to eat mashed things wish some bits and pieces in it so I made her some mashed carrot and I added some bread to soak.

For Alex and me I made pancakes. Soon, the smell of the most perfectly round pancakes ever was wafting through the house and I generously spilled maple syrup and put little pieces of butter on my perfect stack.

I put them on a tray and brought them up to Alex. He was still sleepy, it was adorable. I put the pancakes down next to him and kissed him. I didn’t care about morning breath; I just had to kiss him. He happily munched on the pancakes and I even spoon-fed him some. After we had eaten up, we cuddled some more. Mari started crying so we just took her to cuddle with us.

Later that day, I received a call from the company I had applied at.

“Mr Jack Gaskarth? Shine PR here,” I heard a female voice say cheerily. My heart started beating faster. Oh my God.

“Yes, it’s me. What is it?” I asked, forcing myself to sound calm.

“You were here for an interview yesterday and it was decided you would get the job of the internet advertising assistant,” she chirped. My cheeks flushed with joy.

“Thank you for telling me! When do I start?” I asked, barely able to contain my excitement.

“Tomorrow morning at 9 am. Please make sure you bring in your bank details. If you have any questions you can call our help desk anytime,” she responded.

“Great, thank you. Goodbye,” I said. She said goodbye too and I sunk down to the ground. This was fantastic. A job. Alex would be so proud of me.

I searched for him and when I finally found him, I nearly suffocated him with the big hug I gave him. He started squealing when he first heard the news and we jumped up and down while squealing for a bit like overly excited schoolgirls.

I laid out my suit and important papers in the evening, ready and excited for my first day. Alex was all cheery and happy as well, he hummed songs all the time and Mari picked up on our mood, she smiled with the first little teeth she had and squealed happily too.

I went to bed in a good mood and fell asleep with Alex hugging me.
