Walls

As The Misfits were on stage and we were just watching because Of Mice and Men’s tech was there it started to rain, Mackenzie and I stood there happy because we knew none of these kids or adults were going to leave this place because of rain, they were dedicated fans.
“I think this is pretty cool.” I heard Tino from Of Mice and Men say
I nodded in response and just watched. Tino and I didn’t get along very well because of the first time that Mackenzie and I met him he decided to insult my dad and I.
“Look Ryan I’m sorry about last time.” Tino said
“Valentino stop.” I said
“I’m trying to apologize.” He said
“I don’t want it.” I said
“Tino leave her alone.” Austin said
I looked back and smiled at Austin, Tino walked away and Austin replaced where he was.
“He’s just trying to be nice.” Austin said touching my shoulder.
“I know but I’m a stubborn girl and I’m not just going to forgive him for what he said.” I said
“I know, I don’t expect you to Ryan.” He said
“Do you think I’m a band whore?” I asked
“No Ryan you don’t and you don’t look like you were raised by junkies.” He said
“Oh Austin didn’t you know?” I asked
“Know what?” He asked
“I was raised by my mom and she was a junkie. My dad wasn’t in my life until I was twelve. Then I was raised by him, Korn, Slipknot, The Misfits and more.” I said
He nodded and I smiled.
“So Valentino when you see me hanging off of band members of the bands Korn and Slipknot and others it’s not because I’m a band whore it’s because they’re my fucking family.” I said getting in Tino’s face
Tino backed away and Mackenzie laughed, I knew she wasn’t going to stop me.
“And if you insult my father again or Mackenzie or any of my family I will personally rip you a new one. My mother was a junkie but it doesn’t give you the right to rub it in my face. You know nothing, nothing about my life so before you even think to say something about me talk to Corey Taylor, Or James Sullivan. Insult me around them I dare you. And my dad was the best you wanna know why? Because he dropped everything during a concert to come pick my sorry ass up from the Children’s services office when they took my fucking mother to jail. He came and got me and raised me like I had been with him the entire time, he raised me right and don’t you think I’m afraid to defend him and the rest of my family because I will punch you if I need to.” I sneered from in between my teeth.
Alan and Austin were just watching me as I got in Tino’s face; I got closer the more he backed away.
“Alright angry bear it’s time to get away and take a breather.” I heard someone say
I was then picked up and taken away from the scene, when I was set down Corey Taylor was holding onto my shoulder.
“I’m okay.” I said
“You’re not okay. If looks could kill Tino would be dead.” He said
“He makes me so mad. First time I meet the band everyone is nice and he’s whispering shit about me and family. Second time he’s trying to say he’s sorry.” I said
“Wait, wait, wait.” He said
I just looked at him.
“Is he the one that called you the band whore because you were hanging all over me, Jonathan, and Jimmy?” He asked
“The very one. He’s also the one who said I looked like I was raised by junkies and that my dad should be in prison for being a horrible father.” I said
“Baby girl your mama was a junkie.” He said
“But he didn’t know that and he doesn’t have the right to say I look like I was. Do I look like I was?” I asked
“No. You look like you were raised like a punk rock princess.” He said
“Thank you.” I said
“And you were raised by band members that totally makes you a badass.” He said
I laughed and Baltimore trotted up to me.
“Hi baby boy. Are you being good for grandpa Corey?” I asked
“Grandpa?” He asked
I nodded picking up Baltimore.
“You know what, he’s coming with me.” I said
Corey nodded and I got off of the bus and headed back to Mackenzie with Baltimore by my side.
“Are we better?” Mackenzie asked meeting up with me before I entered backstage.
“Yeah.” I said
She smiled and kneeled down and pet Baltimore. When she stood up we walked back to the side stage to watch The Misfits set. It was halfway over already but they were still rocking it.
“Holy shit this dog is adorable.” I heard someone.
I looked behind me and Austin and Alan were standing there.
“Hi guys.” I said
“I prefer cats but this little guy is a cutie.” Alan said
I smiled at the ginger and Austin leaned down to my ear.
“You scared him and he may be my band member but I’m proud of you for standing up to him.” He whispered.
“I’m not done. I have one more thing for him.” I said
“Do you want to go tell him?” He asked
“Pull me away if you need to.” I smiled
He nodded and I handed the leash to Mackenzie. I started walking towards Phil, Aaron and Tino; I knew Austin was watching over everything that happens.
“Don’t kill me.” Tino said
“I’m not here for that.” I said
“What do you want?” He asked nervously.
“Good luck today and don’t take that niceness as I forgive you, take it as I’m not going to yell anymore.” I said
I walked away and sat down next to Baltimore and he climbed into my lap.
When The Misfits finished they ran off stage and I was engulfed into a sweaty group hug with Jerry, Dez, Eric, and Mackenzie.
“You guys did awesome.” I said once the hug was over.
“And you guys stink!” Mackenzie squealed.
Jerry laughed and kissed my forehead.
“We heard you yelling at Tino over the music Hun.” He said
“It was awesome wasn’t it?” Mackenzie asked
“Hell yes.” Dez said
I smiled and they walked away and Mackenzie took down their equipment and some guys helped us take it to their hauler.
“Wanna walk around?” I asked Mackenzie.
“Yeah, we have like four hours until Slipknot.” She said
I nodded and we started walking, just walking around the Maze of bands.
“Ryan!” I heard someone
I looked beside me and Doug was coming at me.
“Okay you have the set lists right?” He asked
“Yes.” I said
“Good, I didn’t want you to be confused why there are only two sets today and the set two has six bands instead of four. We’re splitting it into two days, ten today, ten tomorrow.” He said
“I figured that, I haven’t even looked at the set list. Just the lineup.” I said
He nodded.
“You two know you can’t go home tonight.” He said
“What am I going to wear?” Mackenzie asked
“You have a boyfriend that can drive.” He said
“Good point. I’ll give him a call later.” She said
Doug nodded and ran off to the stage.
“Give me the leash.” Mackenzie said
I looked at her funny and gave it to her, she pointed and I looked in the direction and no one other than Copeland was running at me. Yes, the two year old is running. I kneeled down and caught her.
“What in the world are you doing here?” I asked her
“Daddy.” She said pointing.
“Wanna meet the rest of Kellin’s band and the rest of Vic’s band?” I asked “Cause I do.” I said
Mackenzie nodded and we walked to where Cope was pointing, as we walked I saw Kellin and Vic standing together.
“Ryan have you noticed that we are surrounded by sexy band members?” Mackenzie asked as we were walking
“Yes and you can’t have any of them.” I said
“I don’t want one, I love my man. Buuut, you can.” She said
I rolled my eyes and stood behind Kellin and Vic.
“It seems I keep finding this runaway baby.” I said
They jumped and turned around
“Gosh darnit she got away again. What are you doing here Ryan?” Kellin asked
“I’m filling in for drum technicians that called in sick today and tomorrow.” I said
“Damn girl you are going to be busy, maybe.” Vic said
I handed Cope off to Kellin.
“How’d you get this gig?” A ginger guy asked
I looked confused.
“Oh, I’m Jesse. I’m the rhythm guitarist in Kellin’s band; Sleeping with Sirens.” He said
“I’m Ryan, Kellin and Vic’s new neighbor and I have this job because my dad is the drum tech for Korn and Slipknot. I naturally get these jobs. This is my best friend Mackenzie and my dog Baltimore.” I said
“That’s pretty fucking sweet.” Kellin said
I nodded.
“Let me introduce you to Sleeping with Sirens.” He said
I smiled and so did Mackenzie.
“Gabe Barham; Drummer, Jack Fowler; Lead Guitarist, Justin Hill, Bassist, Me Kellin Quinn; Singer, and Jesse Lawson; Rhythm Guitarist and backup vocals.” Kellin said pointing as he named
“Hi guys I’m Ryan Rosen, and this is Mackenzie Morgan.” I smiled.
“I guess we’re going to be spending time today.” Gabe said
“Drum tech out?” Mackenzie asked
“Yes.” He said
“Ours too.” Vic said
“Introduce us.” A tall shirtless man with tattoos and a beanie on said nudging Vic
Vic laughed.
“Me Vic Fuentes; Singer and Rhythm Guitarist, Jaime Preciado; Bassist and sometimes backup vocals, Tony Perry; Lead Guitarist, and Mike Fuentes; Drummer.” Vic said
“Brothers?” I asked
“Yep this is my baby bro.” Vic said punching Mike in the stomach.
Mackenzie laughed.
“Hey do you guys know Of Mice and Men?” Mackenzie asked
“Yeah, they are pretty good friends to all of us.” Mike said
“Well if you hear Tino complaining about a girl getting in his face and yelling at him don’t worry about it.” She said
“Why?” Jack asked
“It was Ryan.” She smiled
I groaned and they all looked at me
“What happened?” Justin asked
“Well the first time I met the band they were all pretty cool but he was whispering shit about me because he figured he could judge me.” I said
“What did he say?” Vic asked
“That I’m a band whore, that I look like I was raised by junkies and that my dad should be in jail for being a bad dad.” I said
“Ignorant.” Kellin said
Kellin and Vic both know about my mom and what my dad did that day.
“Why a band whore?” Jaime asked
“Because when they met her she was hanging all over Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Slipknot, The Misfits, and Iron Maiden.” Mackenzie said
“Those guys are my family, they all helped my dad raise me.” I said
They all nodded and rolled their eyes a Tino’s ignorant actions
“You seem like a cool chick.” Mike said
“Thanks.” I smiled
“I can’t wait to spend time with you tomorrow night.” He said
I laughed and we just talked for a few hours and then I slipped into Avenged Sevenfold tour bus and I took a power nap on Jimmy’s leg as he played video games, Baltimore curled up on my tummy.
