Walls

After the concert I went home, he needed me and I needed him. I woke up with his arms around me.
"Lex." I said
"Yeah?" He mumbled
"I'm so fucking sorry." I cried
"Just tell me why." He said voice cracking from either sleep or tears.
"You said you wanted to spend the rest if your life with me and I panicked; you deserved someone better. But while I was away I realized I can't do better then you; I need you in my life." I said tears falling into the sheets
"Ry." He said
"Even if it's just friends Lex, I fucking need you." I said
"Ry, if I thought I could do better I would have moved on. But I had to think that'd you'd come home. You're the best thing I've ever fucking had; I need you just as much as you need me." He said
I took his face in my hands and kissed him.
"Was it you at the park?" He asked
"Yeah, it was. I saw you and went to the place I was saying and just cried." I said
"Where were you staying?" He asked
"Homeless shelter down in Compton" I said
"Seriously?" He asked
I nodded
"They're the only one that would take me; all of the ones up here knew who I was." I said
"You could have been raped." He said
"I wasn't." I said
"That’s not the point." He said
"What's the point?" I asked
"It was Compton, those aren't just rumors about them. It's true shit. You could have gotten raped or killed." He said
"Alex, I knew where I was. I knew what could have happened but it didn't. No one wants to rape a girl who had bleeding cuts up her entire arm." I said
"You cut?" He asked
"Yeah." I said
He sighed
"Can we not fight? I don't want to fight." He said
"Then what do you want to do?" I asked dropping my head down to the pillow
"I want you to look at me." He said
I sat up and looked at him.
"Promise me that your here to stay." He said
"Lex I promise I'm here to stay." I said
He nodded and I wiped a stray tear from his eye with my thumb.
"I'm so deep in love with you that I don't think I could even convince myself to leave." I said
"Ryan." He said
"Yeah?" I asked
"I love you more than I've loved anyone." He said.
I nodded and he leaned down to me and kissed me gently on the lips.
"Go back to sleep." He said
I laid down
"Do I really have tiny fists?" I asked
He chuckled
"Yes." He smiled
"Anything else that I do?" I asked
"They're for me to know." He smiled "You do drag your feet when you’re tired." He added
"I know, I don't know why." I said
"It's cute. My little zombie." He said
"Are you accepting me back into your life?" I asked
"There was no doubt that I wouldn't." He said
I smiled
"Your hair is so long." He said
"I'm going to cut it back to short." I said
"How short?" He asked
"Probably back to how it was." I said
"Okay." He said
"Alex." I said
"Yeah?" He asked
"I love you." I said
"I love you too." He said
He pulled me to his chest and I slowly fell asleep.
When I woke up he was still asleep, I got up and took a shower. I stood in the mirror and cut my long hair off, I didn't cut it back to the A-line I had before it was shoulder length, and my bangs were in swoop formation. It was back to its original dark brown color. I walked out into the bedroom and pulled on one of Lex's T-shirts and a pair of skinny jeans.
"You're up." Lex said from the bed
"I needed a shower." I said
He got up and walked over to me and cupped my face; he leaned down and kissed me.
"I like your hair." He said
"I like your face." I smiled
"I missed your voice." He said
I smiled, and his phone started ringing; he picked it up and said 'uh huh' and 'okay' and 'on my way' when he hung up he started pulling clothes on
"Where are you going?" I asked
"We are going to the hospital." He said
"Why?" I asked
"I'll explain in the car." He said
I nodded and pushed my feet into a pair of toms and we walked out to the car.
"How was Baltimore while I was gone?" I asked
"Same as me; mopey." He said
"My babies." I said
He took my hand and we walked to his SUV and started off towards the hospital.
"What's going on?" I asked
"Kenz." He said
"What about her?" I asked
"It's baby time." He said
"I was gone that long?" I asked
He nodded and sped off towards the hospital
"Who knows I'm back?" I asked
"Jack." I said
"Did Jack tell anyone?" I asked
"He wouldn't." He said
I nodded and it was silent for the rest of the ride
"Are we the first ones here?" I asked
"Yeah." He said
"Really?" I asked
"She called me first; I told her I'd be in the room with her because you weren't here." He said
"Oh." I said
"Now you're going go to be in the room, as a surprise." He said
"She's going to slap me so hard; I deserve it though." I said
He chuckled and we raced into the hospital and got our stickers and went to her room.
"Knock knock." Alex said
"Alex?" Mackenzie asked though the door
"Yes. Can I come in?" He asked
"Yeah." She said
She sounded like she was in a lot of pain.
He walked in and held me close behind him; she couldn't see me
"How are you doing?" Alex asked
"Pain!" She squealed grabbing her stomach
"Where's your man?" He asked
"Rest room." She said
"I'm going to go talk to him." Alex said
I stood behind the curtain and he left.
"Mack I'm sorry. I'm so, so, so sorry." I whispered
"Who the fuck is there?" She asked
I walked around the curtain and looked at her, she got out of her bed and walked over to me; her belly was huge. She looked me in the eyes and slapped me straight across the face; I just stood there. My face was on fire but then she hugged me.
"I'm sorry." She sobbed
"It was deserved." I said
She continued to sob into my arms until another contraction ripped through her body,
“It’s almost time.” She said
“I’ll be back, I have to go show my face to the others. I’m such a fucking ass.” I said
“Yes you are. But an ass that none of us are mad at.” She said
I walked out of the room and he husband was waiting to enter
“Go in.” I said
He nodded and pulled me into a tight hug.
“We missed you.” He said
“She slapped me.” I said
He chuckled and kissed my cheek. I spotted Alex standing in the doorway of the lobby laughing at something probably that Jack had said. I walked slowly out there and peeked into the waiting room; everybody was fucking there. My dad, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn; all of them. I stepped a foot into the room and caught one person’s attention, and that man was my father. He look up at me and waved me in; I ran to him and folded myself into his lap.
“Ryan.” He said
I looked up and everyone was looking at me
“Daddy.” I said
He hugged me so tight.
“Don’t you ever do that again. About gave me a heart attack.” He said
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry to everyone for this huge inconvenience.” I said
“My Ry Ry is home safe that’s all that counts.” Jimmy said
“I think she’s Alex’s Ry Ry now Jim.” Matt said
Jimmy pouted his lip out at me, I clambered out of my dad’s lap and hugged him. He squeezed me until I couldn’t breathe.
“Jimmy… I… Can’t… Breathe.” I gasped
His grip loosened a bit and he kissed the top of my head. I climbed out of his lap and stood looking at all of the people that love me, I was instantly mad at myself for leaving.
“Ryan! Baby time.” Jack came running out
I nodded and ran back into her room with him, she was red and squealing.
“I’m here, I’m here.” I said
She took my hand and squeezed it, soon enough the crying of a new born baby rang throughout the room.
“It’s a girl!” The doctor exclaimed
Mackenzie looked at Jack and he smiled,
“What’s her name?” The doctor asked
“Anette Nicole” They said in unison
“I’m going to go in the waiting room and deliver the news.” I said
“Go home, I’ll see you tomorrow.” She said nodding
I leaned over and kissed her sweaty forehead. I walked out into the waiting room and smiled at our family.
“It’s a girl.” I said
“Name?” Jimmy demanded
“Anette Nicole.” I said
They all smiled.
“Can we go home?” I asked
Alex nodded and took me into his arms and we walked outside to the car.
When we got home Baltimore charged at me tackling me to the ground, he continuously licked my face until I told him to stop. Alex took my hand and led me into our living room, we sat down on the couch and talked about everything that I missed. Jack had a girlfriend for a short period of time named Daniella, Alex said she was pretty cool but Jack of course can’t handle a relationship so they broke up. Vic and Kellin adopted a son who is three years old; his name is Albert. As the sky became dark Alex and I moved into the bedroom and turned the TV onto the cooking channel and stared at it not paying attention.
“Most people would have given up.” I said
“I’m not most people.” He smiled
“I’m glad, if I had come back and not been able to be in your life at all I don’t know what I would have done.” I said
“I loved you too much.” He said
I looked over at him and smiled, I loved him so much too.
