I Never Said We Were Exclusive
Alex’s POV
After we picked up an entire suitcase of Lillie’s clothes, I texted Jack.
To: Jack
Meet me and Lillie at the Boardwalk MiniGolf place in ten minutes.
I really hoped my kissing Lillie hadn’t freaked her out too much. I had wanted to kiss her for awhile now. Not since I first saw her; I don’t really believe in love at first sight. But since she sat down in the living room with me and the guys and started playing guitar. She was mesmerizing.
“So, Lillie, about that kiss…” Lillie rolled her eyes.
“I said it was fine, Alex. I liked it. Just—just don’t lead me on, okay? Don’t pretend you want me if you don’t.” Lillie said with a slight shiver in her voice. I wondered if many guys had hurt her in the past. They’d have to be complete idiots to hurt Lillie.
“I do want you.” I said automatically. I didn’t mean to say it that quickly. I would’ve pushed Lillie up against a wall and made out with her in seconds, but I didn’t know how I really felt about her yet. I knew I liked her a lot, but did I want a relationship with her? Well shit, it was too late to take it back now.
“You do?” Lillie asked. Her cheeks were blushed red. It was fucking adorable.
“Y-yeah.” I nodded, though I was still uncertain. Great. If I broke Lillie’s heart I would never forgive myself. Luckily, we were almost at the minigolf place, so Jack , Rian, and Zack would be there to diffuse the tension.
“I have feelings for you, Alex. I just don’t know how I feel about those feelings yet.” Lillie said. This statement confused me and relieved me at the same time. It seemed like she felt the same way I did. I pulled into the parking lot of the minigolf place, where Jack, Rian, and Zack were already waiting for us.
“Hey bitch.” Jack said pointedly to me. “Took you long enough to show up.” I rolled my eyes at Jack and went to buy our putters and golf balls. We all fought over the different colors like eight-year-olds. I eventually ended up with the green ball. Lillie had the purple one, Jack had blue, Rian had orange, and Zack had black.
“Ladies first.” I offered, handing Lillie a putter. She practically snatched it from me.
“I’m going to kick your ass, Gaskarth.” Lillie smirked. The first hole was pretty easy. Everyone except for Jack got a hole-in-one. Jack took five strokes. Lillie was actually great at minigolf. On the eighth hole, she got her fourth hole-in-one.
“Damn, girl.” Jack said as he gave up on the eighth hole and picked up the ball, placing it in the hole. “You’ve got us all beat.” Everyone laughed. Jack really sucked at this.
Lillie’s POV
I used to minigolf all the time with my brother, and we were damn competitive about it. I was determined to beat Alex and the other guys. I couldn’t stop thinking about Alex saying he wanted me, though. I really did like him, but I didn’t know if I was ready for a relationship with him. I mean, I’d only just met him and most of my relationships ended badly. I pushed it to the back of my mind and decided to let what happened happen. When we were at the fourteenth hole, we found ourselves inside a cave. The entire course was an island theme, so the cave made perfect sense. When I finished my turn, taking two strokes, I ran off to wait at the net hole. Jack, who immediately followed me, surprisingly only took four strokes before coming to wait at hole fifteen with me. We couldn’t see Alex, Zack, and Rian, who were still on the other side of the cave, taking forever.
“So you and Alex…” Jack started. Did he know about the kiss?
“We’re nothing.” I said quickly. “I mean, we’re friends, but that’s it.” Jack rolled his eyes.
“Bullshit.” Jack said. “If you guys aren’t together now, you will be within the next day. He’s crazy for you.”
“He is not.” I said, though I really hoped he was.
“Yeah, he is. Have you seen him look at you?” Jack asked, shaking his head. “It kind of sucks, since you’re so hot.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked. Jack was confusing as hell to talk to.
“I’ve wanted to make out with you since I first saw you.” Jack said simply. “You’re hot as hell, you’re hilarious, you’re down to earth. You make me want to just--” Jack leaned in and his lips were on mine. I couldn’t believe this was happening. I liked Alex, I really did, but I liked Jack, too. And he just wanted to make out, right? Before I knew it, I was kissing him back passionately. My arms were wrapped around his neck and his hands were on my waist, guiding his hips towards mine as the kiss grew more intense. I slid my hands up his neck and tangled them in his hair.
