Jack's POV

I walked out of lessons thanking god it was the end of school and the fact it was Friday so I meant I had to think of what to do for this date with Alex.
"Hey Jack, party round mine all weekend. You should bring Alex, I have enough booze and weed to last us the whole weekend." Josh said as he threw his arm over my shoulders as I made my way towards Alex's locker to meet him like I did everyday after school.
"Can't Josh." I said and Josh stood in front of me and put his hand on my forehead.
"Who are you and what have you done with Jack who never turns a party down?" Josh asked and I moved his hand off my forehead.
"I have my 2 year old sister to look after and I said I would take on Alex on a date somewhere but I no idea where." I said.
"Give her to Charlie for the weekend and your date with Alex can be coming round mine and getting fucked out of your faces." Josh said and I just looked at him and rolled my eyes at him.
"Charlie having anything to do with Ruby is like my mother being off drugs and being a normal mother." I said and walked round Josh, who walked after me and caught hold of my arm which made me stop and look at him.
"Okay, that was a touchy subject and I should of known. But you and Alex need to let your hair down. Christ Jack your both 17 and you're both stuck looking after Ruby because your brother is a cunt and won't have nothing to do with her." Josh said and I looked at him hard getting ready to have a go at him when I felt someone hold my hand which made me look and I saw Alex.

"What's going on?" Alex asked.
"I was telling Jack that there's a party round mine all weekend. I have enough booze and weed to last us the weekend." Josh said.
"And I told him that we don't just down tools and go to a party because of Ruby." I said in a snappy way which made Alex look at me.
"Okay, I'm not being the referee in yours and Josh's lovers tiff there. But babe I have to agree with Josh here. I don't know about you but I need to let my hair down, especially after what's happened." Alex said and I turned myself so I was looking at Alex better.
"And what about Ruby? Have you forgotten about her and that we have nobody to look after her." I said.
"Well you don't have to go, since your being a fucking drama queeen about it." Alex said and turned round and walked off and I just watched him walk off as I heard Josh having a chuckle to himself and his arm found its way back round my shoulder.
"I was beginning to think you and Alex wouldn't match but after that I am happy to say that you have my approval to carry on dating him." Josh said and I just rolled my eyes.
"Also once he gets his confidence up around us he's going to fit in really well." Josh said.
"Jack buddy, I know you have Ruby to think about here but you need to let your hair down." Josh said and I just sighed.
"Let me and Alex talk about it and if we decide to come then it'll probably be tomorrow." I said and Josh smiled and kissed my cheek.
"I'm holding you too this and I'll see you tomorrow." Josh said and went to walk off but I stopped him.
"Is it at your parents place or at Drew's?" I asked which made Josh laugh sarcastically.
"Please Jack use your head here. My parents threw me out when they found out I was gay and was dating Drew and they absolutely hate the fact he's 21 years old and a rich boy." Josh said.
"Oh yeah I forgot about that." I said and Josh chuckled.
"See you at some point." Josh said and walked off on his phone probably talking to Drew.
I went looking for Alex and we went home.

"So who is going to look after Ruby?" I asked since me and Alex was arguing about going to this party.
"Give her to Charlie, Christ sake Jack he is also her brother and he should take some responsibility for her and not just leave it to you. You have to go to school and go to work and yes you have me to look after Rubes, but that's not the point." Alex said and moved onto the bed and sat on my legs.
"You are still a teenager Jack, you should be out enjoying yourself not tied down looking after your sister because your mother is a crack whore and loves her drugs more than her kids and your brother is just a cunt who won't offer to help you." Alex said and I looked down but Alex made me look at him.
"He can't expect you or me to juggle our lives around because your brother doesn't want to have anything to do with Ruby. They both need to learn that your not always going to be here. You might want to go to college away from here or you might want to move away, who knows but they can't keep you tied down in this shit hole of a town. It's not right babe." Alex said and I just nodded and looked down.
I felt Alex move and him kissing my forehead.
"I'm not pressuring you okay, I'm just pointing out that your sister and your brother can't relie on you forever." Alex said quietly and made me look at him.
"You was right that about earlier." I said quietly.
"Right about what? I said a lot of stuff." Alex said and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"About me being a drama queen at school." I said and Alex smiled.
"Josh said he was getting worried that me and you didn't suit each other but after you said that he said we have his approval and that once you get to know Josh and Finn you'll fit in just fine." I said and Alex chuckled and pushed me onto my back and just hovered above me.
"Even if we didn't suit each other you would miss my dick to much to stay away from me." Alex said quietly and kissed me which I returned.
"That's true." I said and took Alex's top off which made Alex smile sadly at me as he looked at his arms.
"Hey." I said and made Alex look at me.
"Scars or no scars. Having a meltdown or not having a meltdown. I love you no matter what." I said quietly and gently pushed his head down and kissed him which Alex returned.
"I love you too." Alex whispered and stoked my face with his fingers softly which made me smile.
I rolled us over so Alex was under me and took my top off which made Alex smile and he reached up and went to touch the burn scars on my chest but I gently caught hold of his hand which stopped his touching my scars.
"Why can't I touch them?" Alex asked quietly.
"I can't bare the thought of people touching them." I said quietly.
"I understand." Alex whispered.
I smiled and kissed Alex a little harder than before which Alex returned as he undone my jeans and pushed them down along with my pants and I did the same thing.


"For fuck sake Charlie it's only for the weekend, I have a life and it's not as if she's my child which I made." I said to Charlie since we was stood in his kitchen arguing about him having Ruby.
"She hates me Jack, how the hell am I going to do anything with her?" Charlie said.
"Then get her to like you. Do the same thing as you do with Lily and Jackson, include her in stuff." I said and Charlie just rolled his eyes.
"If I was to go off to college and so does Alex what's going to happen to her then? I can't take her everywhere with me. I'm 17 years old Charlie, I shouldn't have to be looking after my sister because our mother is a waste of space. But I do look after her because she'll end up in the system and I would never wish that on anyone. I will not have her go through the same shit as I did in the system." I said and Charlie looked at me shocked.
"You went into care?" Charlie asked.
"Yes, that's how I met Josh." I said and looked down.
"What happened to you?" Charlie asked.
"I'm not talking about that. We are talking about Ruby here." I said seriously and looked at Charlie.
"If I said I would have Ruby at the weekends, would that make you feel better?" Charlie said and I frowned at him.
"It would make me feel better, then I can do what I want to do with Alex. We can have some time to ourselves." I said with a smile.
"Then it's a deal then." Charlie said and I hugged him which was a rare gesture for me to do to anyone other than Alex, Ruby and Josh.
"Thanks Charlie." I said quietly.
"It's okay." Charlie said and I smiled.
"Alex is in the sitting room with the kids." I said as I moved away from Charlie.
"Okay, you two go and have fun. But be careful with what you take and drink." Charlie said as I walked out the room.
"Always do." I said and recused Alex and we went round Drew's house.


"What if they don't like me?" Alex asked as we waited for Drew to answer the buzzer so we could get into the block of flats where Drew live and now was where Josh now lives.
"Drew will like you, I know that for a fact as for Finns other half I don't know because this is the first time I'm meeting him as well." I said and Alex moved closer to me as Josh came down in just a t shirt which I knew was Drew's.
"Hey guys! We was thinking you weren't going to show up." Josh said and he pulled me into a hug and went to do the same with Alex but Alex moved away.
Josh just smiled at Alex which Alex returned.
"Come on up guys." Josh said as we followed him upstairs.
"What's Finn fella like?" I asked before we went inside.
"A cunt. You might need to keep an eye on Alex, he been saying things about Drew's scars and they are faint compared to Alex's so just be aware of that." Josh said and I nodded and looked at Alex who was looking uneasy at the floor.
"Alex." Josh said and Alex looked at Josh.
"Me, Drew and Jack will look out for you okay. We'll look after you." Josh said and Alex smiled and nodded and Josh opened the door and we walked inside.
