Trigger Warning self harm

Jack's POV

I knew Alex was home so I called him to see what was wrong but he ignored all my phone calls and my texts which started to get me worried.
I went to my room to check on Alex through the window but he had his curtains closed which wasn't like Alex whatsoever.
I quickly put my shoes on and grabbed my phone and ran downstairs.
"Where you going Jack?" I heard Charlie ask since it was my evening to look after Ruby.
"Alex is in trouble and he needs my help." I said and turned round and looked at Charlie.
"But what about Ruby? You can just drop everything and run to Alex all the time. You have your sister to look after." Charlie said.
"Right now and I would never normally say this but Alex is more important than Ruby. Yes I can because she is not just my sister, she's your sister as well. I need to make sure my boyfriend hasn't fucking killed himself, please Charlie just look after Ruby for me." I said and Charlie looked at me and sighed.
"I have had nothing to do with her Jack, she won't settle for anyone part from you. As for Alex he's old enough to look after himself.
"Then get to know her! I've had to look after her for 2 years while looking after mum and having to juggle work with my school life! Alex's dad is in hospital because of some fucking idiot crashed into him. Alex has the fucking worry of losing the only bit of family he has left!" I shouted really losing my cool and if I didn't get out of here soon then I wouldn't be able to keep a lid on things.
"Fine, do whatever the fuck you want. But I want you and Ruby out in a week." Charlie said.
"But I have nowhere to go. I haven't go enough money to get myself a place." I said and Charlie shrugged his shoulders.
"Not my problem." Charlie said and turned round and walked in the sitting room and I just sighed and walked out the house and quickly went next door.

I banged on the door and got no response so I forced my way in.
When I got upstairs I went straight to Alex's room and I found him in a ball on his bed.
"Alex, babe talk to me." I said as I walked over to him and rolled him onto his back and I was shocked to see what had happened.
"Alex! Alex wake up for me." I said loudly and I shook him and I got my phone and called for a ambulance and rushed to the bathroom to get towels and I ran back to the bedroom and I wrapped the towels round Alex's arm.
"911 how can I help you?" The woman asked.
"I need a ambulance, my boyfriend tried to kill himself. Please hurry he's bleeding badly and I can't stop it." I sniffed and moved some hair from Alex's eyes.
"A ambulance is on its way sir." The woman asked.
"Thank you." I whispered and hung up.
"Alex, baby listen to me okay, I don't know what has happened. But I need you to get over this. I need you more than ever Lex." I whispered.
Everything just went in a blur and I came back to the world I was at the hospital.

Everything which had happened just hit me all at once.
"Fuck." I said loudly and picked my phone up and looked for Josh's number and when I found it I dialed it.
"Jack, I'm a bit busy right now." Josh said and he tried to hold a moan back but it didn't work very well.
"Sorry, I shouldn't of bothered you." I whispered and sniffed as I looked down.
"Drew stop, Jack tell me what's the matter." Josh said seriously.
"It's doesn't matter, you can get back to what your doing." I said quietly and looked up and pulled the phone away from my ear and sniffed loudly.
"Jack it does matter, tell me what is the matter." Josh said seriously.
"I'm at the hospital." I said quietly.
"Jack why you there? You haven't overdosed on drugs have you?" Josh said seriously and I heard him move around and Drew whining in the background.
"It's not for me." I whispered.
"Is it for Lily? Is she okay?" Josh asked since he had a soft spot for Lily, even if Lily didn't like him.
"It's not for Lily." I said quietly.
"Christ who else is in your life that is important to you? Because the list isn't that big, even you know that." Josh said and I heard him start to get dress.
"It's Alex, he's tried to kill himself and I don't know why he did it." I said and I felt myself break down again.
"Jack just hang in there, I'll be at the hospital as soon as I can okay." Josh said and I nodded and sniffed.
"Okay." I whispered.
"I don't give a shit Drew, Jack needs us right now." Josh said seriously to Drew.
"Its fine, if you and Drew have plans then I'll be okay." I said.
"It's fine Jack, it was only sex." Josh said.
"I would kill someone if they disturbed me while in the middle of having sex with Alex." I said and Josh chuckled.
"Well you was there for me when I needed someone and I'm returning the favor." Josh said and I smiled.
"Thanks Joshua." I said.
"Cunt." Josh said and I smiled again and hung up and I went looking for Alex.

"I'm looking for my boyfriend, he was admitted here about a hour ago and nobody has told me anything." I said as I stopped a nurse.
"I'm busy right now." The nurse said.
"I need to know if my boyfriend is okay, nobody has said anything to me about how he is. For all I know he could be dead." I said loudly and I felt someone get hold of my hand.
"Calm down." I heard Josh say quietly.
"Where's my dad?" Josh asked since his dad was a doctor here.
"He's currently with a patient." The nurse said.
"When he's done tell him that I'm here for me please." Josh said and the nurse nodded and walked off.
"What if he's dead Josh. I can't cope with this especially after what Charlie said." I said and Josh pulled me into a hug.
"Alex is a fighter. What did Charlie say?" Josh asked and pulled back and looked at me.
"He said that me and a Rubes have to be out of his house in a week and I haven't got the money to buy myself a place and I can't go on the streets or go back to mum. I don't know what to do, I'm losing my fucking mind right now." I said quickly.
"You and Ruby are more than welcomed to stay with me and Drew you know that." Josh said and put a supportive hand on my arm and I smiled sadly.
"Joshua, what you doing here?" Josh's dad asked.
"I need you to tell us what's the matter with Jacks boyfriend." Josh said and Josh's dad walked off and we followed him.

We got to a room and I saw Alex and I smiled.
"Is he okay?" I asked and looked at Josh's dad.
"He lost a lot of blood, but you found him just in time. We have him on a blood transfusion and some antibiotics since he had a slight infection. Other than needing loads of rest and spending some time in hospital I'd say he'll be okay." Josh's dad said.
"But he's going to make this right? He's not going to die or anything like that?" I asked and Josh's dad chuckled softly.
"We're going to keep a close eye on him. As long as Alex accepts the blood transfusions and keeps his IV in them he's going to be okay and make a recovery." Josh's dad said and I nodded.
"You and Drew okay son?" Josh's dad asked.
"Yeah, we was thinking if you wanted to come over Sunday. Your invited as well Jack." Josh said and I nodded and I looked at Alex and walked over and sat in the chair.
"I'll think about it." I whispered and got hold of Alex's hand and kissed it and kept hold of it and I just watched Alex as he was asleep.
"Alex, should hopefully wake up soon, but he'll be tired due to the blood loss and that." Josh's dad said and I nodded.
"You going to be okay Jack?" Josh asked and I nodded.
"Okay, you have my number if you want me okay." Josh said and he walked over and kissed the top of my head which made me smile a little.
"We'll leave you be." Josh's dad said and I nodded.
Once I was alone I just started to say small nothings to Alex and just hold he woke up soon.
