The Lion and The Lamb

Alex's POV

"Please wake up Lex. Please, please wake up." I heard someone whisper and kiss my forehead which I knew only one person did that and it was Jack.
"I really need your help Lex, so I really need you right now." Jack sniffed.
I managed to move my hand and I heard Jack gasp.
"Baby open your eyes for me." Jack said and squeezed my hand.
I groaned and opened my eyes but quickly shut them again.
"What's the matter baby?" Jack asked.
"Light is too bright." I groaned and went to move my hand but couldn't because I had something stuck in my hand which prevented me from moving it.
"I'll turn the light out." Jack said and he stood up and turned the light out and walked back over and sat on the chair.
I opened my eyes and blinked a couple of time and I turned my head and saw Jack who was smiling at me but he had tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Don't cry." I said with my voice cracking and reached out and rested my hand on his cheek and wiped the tears which had fallen.
"You have to much of a pretty face to cry." I said quietly and Jack chuckled which made me smile but I couldn't fight of this yawn which was threatening to leave my body so I just let it go.
"I'm tired." I muttered.
"Go to sleep then, I'll be here when you wake up." Jack said quietly.
"Cuddle me." I whispered and I felt Jack let go of my hand and I heard him walk round the bed and then I felt the bed dip behind me and Jack started to mess with my hair as I moved closer to him and felt content for some reason.

When I woke up I noticed Josh was here.
"Hey Alex, gave us quite a scare man. But honestly Jack just talk to him." Josh said and stood up.
"You don't have to go." I said and Josh smiled.
"Yeah I do, I felt Drew in charge of the flat and I have unfinished business to finish off with." Josh said and he walked over and he kissed the top of my head.
"Take it easy yeah, get Jack to give you my number and you give me a call or a text if you need anything." Josh said seriously and I nodded which made Josh smile.
"Take care of him Jack." Josh said and he walked out the room.
"What was Josh talking about?" I asked and rolled over to face Jack.
"Me and Ruby are being kicked out of Charlie's. I haven't got the money to buy my own place and I can't stay with Josh and Drew because they sometimes do drugs and I can't have that with Ruby. I refuse to go back to mums and my only option is the streets but I don't want that either. I don't know what to do Lex." Jack said and looked down.
"You can come and live with me." I said and Jack looked at me.
"But what about your dad?" Jack asked.
"My dad has died Jack. The hospital miss some stuff and it killed him." I sniffed and felt tears in my eyes and Jack pulled me into his chest.
"Alex I'm so sorry." Jack said sympathetically.
"I have nobody Jack." I sobbed into Jacks chest and took a handful of his top.
"You have me and Ruby." Jack said softly.
"I haven't got a family anymore." I continued to sob into Jacks chest.
"Shush, it's okay. Everything is going to be okay. Me and Ruby are going to look after you." Jack said.
I continued to sob into Jacks chest until I tired myself out and fell asleep.

When I woke up again Jack was tracing patterns on my hip.
I sniffed loudly and I looked down at my wrists and only then did I noticed that they was bandaged.
"I've fucked up haven't I?" I whispered and Jack kissed my forehead.
"No you haven't baby." Jack said and I looked at him.
"Yeah I have, I nearly killed myself." I whispered and looked down.
"But you didn't. Okay, I need you to promise me something." Jack said and made me look at him.
"Don't do this to yourself again. If you feel like doing this again then you come and talk to me. It's what I'm here for. You have my back and I have yours. This is how this relationship works, we support each other through anything and I mean anything Alexander." Jack said seriously.
"Okay, I promise." I said quietly and Jack smiled and kissed me softly.
The door opened and me and Jack pulled back quickly and we looked and saw it was the nurse.

"Hey Alex, how you feeling?" The nurse smiled.
"I'm okay. What you doing?" I said and looked at the nurse confused.
"I'm just giving you another blood transfusion since you lost a lot of blood. I also have to change your bandages." The nurse said and I felt Jack move from the bed and I looked at him.
"I need to pee. I'll be back in a second." Jack whispered and kissed me which I returned and Jack walked out the room.
"You gave him a right scare." The nurse said and I looked at him.
"I didn't mean too." I whispered and watched the nurse hook the blood transfusion up.
"I know, but I'm being serious when I say you need to talk to someone. Your boyfriend looks like a really nice person and he looks like he understands you." The nurse said and I smiled and nodded.
"He is really nice and he's about the only person who understands me." I said quietly.
"Let me look at your arm." The nurse said and I gave him my arm.
"How long have I been in for?" I asked.
"You've been in for 3 days. Your boyfriend hasn't left your side." The nurse said and pulled back the sticky bandage which made me hiss in pain.
"Sorry, I hate that part." The nurse said and I smiled and Jack walked back in the room.
"Stitches?" I asked confused and looked at Jack.
"You did a good job on yourself Lex." Jack said quietly and I looked down.
"When can I go home?" I asked and looked at the nurse.
"You have one more blood transfusion but that won't be until tonight and then youll have the doctor check you over and hopefully you'll be able to go home tomorrow." The nurse said with a smile which I returned.
"Right, I'm just going to put the bandage on and I don't want you picking at it. If he does you slap his hands away." The nurse said and looked at Jack who chuckled.
"Will do." Jack said and looked at me which made me smile.
After the doctor was finished I just wanted to sleep so I cuddled into Jacks chest again and went to sleep.
