Lauren Williams, the victim of a lifetime of abuse.
Jack Barakat, the best friend.
Alex Gaskarth, the boyfriend.
Lauren's parents didn't want her, not really. They wanted a boy instead. A pretty little baby boy to take on the family carpentry business like his father and his father before him. Instead they got Lauren, stupid, pathetic Lauren. So why shouldn't they be allowed to take their anger out on her? She's their daughter, she belongs to them, they can do what they like with her. Right? That's what the Williams family believes. Poor, poor Lauren. The only thing she's good for is being the family punching bag. Alex and Jack have no hope of helping her.

I saw your other comment and came here. Yay, I'm so glad you're writing again! I can understand wanting to rewrite it, it has been a minute since you posted the series.
I'm a little fuzzy on all of the events in the last edition, but I don't think what you wrote in this prologue happened before? Or maybe I'm just not remembering? But regardless, you have me hooked already, wondering what happened. Why did Alex leave her? Like whattt...
I guess it's good you are rewriting it, though, I've kind of forgotten a lot of it since I tend to read a lot and just, my college brain as of late hasn't been the best, lol. Due to lack of sleep.
But yes, I will be here to read. I may just reflect on this like a totally new story, just so you know, so sorry if I act oblivious to any factors you keep the same. I remember at least loving the other series, so I know I'll like it here as well. :)
