Alex's POV

I stared at the floor, arm hanging over my guitar as I thought of Lily. How her eyes sparkled in the moonlight, and when she laughed. It was an amazing night. Then I go and do something stupid by kissing her like that. I felt incredibly guilty. However, I was glad we were able to have a serious conversation this morning. I was going to try my hard-

"Alex!"

I glanced up, back to reality to find Jack standing over me, with a serious glance. "Huh?"

"Dude, is that Lily chick still on your mind? Ya, totally spaced out on us."

"Who's Lily?" Rian and Zach instantly called out at the same time.

"Uh...just someone I met the other week." She obviously wasn't, I said it to get them off my back but it didn't quite work out how I'd planned.

"A, she's not just someone," Jack replied, "if she was the whole spacing out and making mistakes thing you've got going on here, wouldn't be happening."

"Making mistakes?"

"Seriously Alex, are you hearing yourself right now?" Rian piped up from behind his drums.

"Don't listen to them Alex," Zach stated. I was just about to say thanks, however his cheeky grin stopped me. "It's ok to be head over heels for-"

"This is why I didn't tell any of you about her!" I snapped, as I bolted up from the chair. "I knew you'd react like this."

"A, calm down, we're just worried. Seriously go get the chick before anyone else comes along. We can tell she means a lot to you. Don't screw it up though."

I appreciated what Jack just said, which made me settle down. However there was one thing that annoyed me. "What do you mean by that?"

Jack picked up his guitar, "Come on, A, all of the other girls haven't stayed for very long, have they?"

"That was then, this is now. I've changed, Jack."

He smirked. "So you keep saying... What happened to Jessica? You were with her just before Lily came along."

"Alex, Jack...Ri and I are still here..."

"You know what Zach, let's leave them to it."

They both walked out before I could tell them not to.

"So? Jessica?"

"Jessica was a totally different matter...she means nothing to me, can I go?"

He shook his head and sat down on the couch, "how was she?"

"Jack, really? Come on...ok I admit screwing up with girls. I never had any luck with them but Lily, she feels different to me. There's something that's pulling me towards her. None of this happened with the others especially Jessica."

Jack suddenly had a huge excited smile on his face, like he'd just won something awesome. "That's it, A. That's what I needed to hear. Invite this Lily chick over, we'd love to meet her."

I smiled as I heard her name. Jack patted my shoulder. "Go. I know ya want to."

With his words I grabbed my jacket and headed towards the door.

"But don't forget we have a show in a couple of days." I walked towards my car. I'd just been set up by my best mates to spill my feelings for Lily. I can't blame Ri and Zach that much, it was all Jack's doing. I appreciated it though.

I smiled as I hopped into the car and drove to Lily's. I was just about to knock when the door swung open.

Lily's wide eyes greeted me, her hands on her chest. "Oh my goodness, Alex! I was just heading out."

"Where to? Maybe I can join you?"

"Sure, I just need some stuff at the shops."

"I'll take you there."

In the car, I gave her a couple of quick glances and then took a deep breath. "I need to talk to you, can the shopping wait?"

She swung round in her seat, "yea, what is it?"

"I need to get out."

I grabbed the door handle, it flew open and I got out. I walked to the grass and sat down.

"Alex..."

I turned, her eyes full of worry. "Don't be so worried. I just need to get something off my chest."
I started to fiddle with a blade of grass. "Lily, I've never been great in relationships but...I want one with you."

There was a moment of silence. I felt sick with nerves. Did she like me the way I liked her? Before she quickly glanced down, I noticed her cheeks grew pinker.

"Oh wow," she mumbled.

I am sorry if I have spelled Zach wrong but I know his real name is Zachary so I've spelled it with a h instead of a k. It's really confused me haha.

Aww poor Alex. How will Lily react?

And this Jessica, my made up character again, not based on anyone. I'm not sure what to do with her right now, don't know whether I'll add her into the story or not.

When I started writing this, I thought it would only fit into 10 chapters but I've added a lot more to it, that's not going to happen now as this is chapter 9 already.
