Alex's POV

Jack!"

"You're back," he approached from the living room with a smile. "Ya scored right?"

"No...I was with Lily," I unzipped my jacket and took it off.

He raised an eyebrow. "Man, sounds like a chicks name. Sure ya didn't score?"

I snorted, "no, not like that anymore Jack, you know that." "Sure..." He trailed of as if he didn't believe what I'd said. "Who is she then?"

"A girl I rescued."

He smirked. "Dude, is that another word for sco-"

"Jack, stop that," his cheeky grin disappeared.

"She was being abused by this creep and I took her to the hospital...if that's scoring then yes, yes I did."

"Jesus A, how Batman of you. Chill," he turned to go back into the living room.

I narrowed my eyes. "Thanks," I mumbled at his snarky comment, then bolted upstairs to my room. Right now, I couldn't take his jokey attitude. I needed sleep. As I entered I flopped out on my bed and closed my eyes.

"Get off me!" she shouted, a minute later, after leaving the pub with him.

I clenched my fists, while entering the ally way. There he was trying to kiss her. She attempted to fight him off but he was too strong.

"Oh come on, let's have fun!"

I walked up behind and pulled him away, pinning him to the wall. He laughed and looked over at her.

"Hey, your boyfriend is here."

He suddenly pushed me and grabbed her.

"Let me go," she whimpered, shrugging to get out of his embrace.

"As you wish."

He threw her into the pile of rubbish in the corner. "You're just trash, who orders plain old OJ at a pub anyway?" he laughed.

I quickly had him in my grasp, up against the wall. I brought my arm up and punched his nose. "No, you're trash." I spat through gritted teeth.

He wiped his nose, moved his eyes from side to side, looking extremely surprised by my actions. He shoved me back and ran off. I smirked at how easily defeated he was.

I turned to see her empty stare. I held out my hand. "It's ok. I'll look after you now."

She stuck out her shaky hand, placing it in mine.

My eyes sprung open. I bolted up right, frantically breathing. I rummaged for my phone to find a text from Lily. I needed to see her.

I slid off the bed, walked into my bathroom and looked in the mirror. I sighed as some sweat ran down the side of my face. I turned the tap on and splashed myself with water.

After I'd dried off, I rushed down the stairs and entered the kitchen, just as, "Why are you up so early?"

"Seriously, make some noise next time," I complained, grabbing a cup and spooned some coffee in.

"Sorry A. I heard ya galloping down the stairs-" he paused for a second, leaning against the door frame, "are you ok? I heard you shouting in your sleep, it woke me up."

Oh...my heart sank.

"No you're trash," he continued, "that's not you. What were you dreaming about?"

"Jack... I'm fine. I... I have to go." I began to get passed when his hand grabbed my arm.

He studied me, concern filled his eyes, and shook his head.

"A... say hello to Lily for me," he said, letting me past.

I knew that wasn't what he wanted to say. This conversation isn't over just yet. I picked my jacket up off the floor to put it on and left the house.
