Alex's POV

"I don't care if J comes, I'm shattered."

I watched Lily push herself off the couch, waiting to shoot up and help her...again. Surprisingly I didn't have to, I smirked as she waddled out of the room. It was cute.

I went back to reading some stuff on my phone for a second to only have it slip out of my grip at Lily's pain filled shriek.

"Alex!" I heard her cry when I rushed out. She had her hands planted firmly on the wall taking rapid small deep breaths.

"Umm...wait there!"

I caught her harsh stare before she winced in pain. "I-I don't think I'll be going anywhere, don't you think?"

It's alright Alex, she's having a baby, she can be as pissed off as she wants. I told myself as I went to grab my phone. The truth is I didn't have a clue with what I should be doing right now. All I could do was call the doctor for advice.

"Shit," I slammed the phone down at the useless information that Doc had given me. Just wait...see what happens. Jesus, not that long ago my girlfriend shrieked in pain and all we do is freakin' wait...

When I got back Lily rubbed her belly and mumbled something under her breath which I couldn't understand but she smiled then glanced back up to me. I was confused by how relaxed she seemed.

"Err, Doc said to wait, see what happens."

"Did you kiss her?"

I took in her little giggle however I wasn't getting the joke. "What?"

"Oh-" I quickly stepped closer as she winced again. "S-snow White," she continued.

I felt stupid all of a sudden. "Nah, not my princess and she's a tad bit young for me," I winked. Lily took a deep breath, I wasn't sure if it was a relieved sigh with my response or the pain.

An hour passed, not much happened. Lily winced a few times which made me phone the Doc back but still the same response as before so I gave up and phoned Lily's mother. She wanted to come over, after so many attempts, I'd convinced her not to as nothing was really happening.

There's no doubt Lily was becoming so uncomfortable. She paced up and down the living room after fidgeting around on the couch. "I want it out," she moaned.

"It's on it's way babe."

She sighed. "I-I-" Her eyes widened for a moment before her cheeks grew a shade of pink.

"Apart from the obvious, you ok?" I grinned to myself at the question, I'd asked when we'd met.

"Phone the doctor."

I went over to her. "I have."

"Now!" she managed to yell before taking another deep breath.

I began to close the gap. I was too busy trying to help that when my feet suddenly felt wet, I wondered why but noticed that guilt and embarrassment had her look at the ground which gave it away. I knew Pete was on her mind, it was wrong, she couldn't be thinking of that loser right now.

"Lily," I said calmly which got her attention. "It's ok. I'll get an ambulance." I quickly gestured to the floor. "I'll get this sorted. Trust me it's all good."

I took my phone out of my pocket as she shook her head and mumbled something, again I couldn't tell what it was.

With a loud knock at the door, relief hit me. I rushed to open the it and laid eyes on the ambulance dude with a female next to his side.

"Ooww!"

I let them both rush passed to get to Lily. I walked over to see them help her. I suddenly felt useless.

"Lily, I'm Mark and this is nurse Danni. We're here to help you. Please hold my hand," he gestured towards her. I expected some hesitation but no, her hand slammed onto his. Mark led her to the couch, they both sat down. He began checking her over.

I continued to watch intently, sounds around became a distant hum getting lost in the moment. I wasn't sure how long I'd just stood there for, however Mark calling my name pulled me back to reality. I blinked.

Mark just stared at me as if he'd just asked me a question. "S-sorry, what?"

Mark smiled. "We don't have time to get her to hospital, we're going to deliver here. Just checking if you've got any old sheets or towels before I go out-"

"Yea," I interrupted, which made me feel like I'd just been rude. This was something I could help with so dashed off. After shoving the sheets at Mark, I walked out to quickly text Jack. I really wanted to get back to Lily so I asked him to spread the word.

"That's it, take a deep breath and push." Danni's firm voice made me rush to Lily's side. She grabbed my hand and squeezed really hard. I winced, but remembered this wasn't the time to let that bother me. She was giving birth for goodness sake.

"Nearly there! Just another push."

I glanced down at Lily. Covered in sweat, she looked exhausted. Lost in the moment, I jumped at the hand which landed on my shoulder. "Dude relax," Jack calmly smiled. "I'm outside."

I grinned as he covered his eyes, rushing out of the room. I wanted to go with him however my girlfriend was giving birth so I couldn't.

I immediately turned back round as cries filled the room. Lily held out her arms. Danni placed our baby in her arms and smiled. Lily just stared down at it.

"Congratulations it's a girl," Danni said as Mark tried to take the baby away. Lily shook her head and tightened her grip. "No, don't take her away."

"Hey babe," I spoke up, Lily's eyes suddenly in my direction. I quickly glanced down, to fight the urge to get lost in her beautiful eyes, "she needs a clean. Let Mark take her, he'll give her straight back. I promise."

Lily looked at Mark, down at the baby, then hesitantly gave her to him. She watched as he took her away.

"Do we have a name?" Danni calmly interrupted. Lily looked at me and blinked.

I nodded. "Annabelle Gaskarth."

I turned to find Lily's questioning stare.

"Do you like it?"

Her eyes lit up with a grin. "Yea. It's nice," she said under her breath.

"Get some sleep babe," I stroked her hair as Mark came back with Annabelle. I reached over and held her in my arms. I smiled at the sight of a mini Lily. She was gorgeous.
