Lily's POV

After panicking about the news, I'd settled down and went back to normal... Well as normal as a heavily pregnant me could get. Alex and Jack forced me to sit down and talk about what had happened. I was so relieved that, along with other girls, I was finally safe from him. A huge weight off my shoulders that's for sure.

I now stared at the rows of seats in front of me. It was passed my due date a week ago, I was getting seriously uncomfortable. I'd been, in Jack's words, so god damn lazy, doing anything seemed like a boring chore.

"Lily Gaskarth!" I smirked when I heard my name being called out. Alex had made a mistake, phoned straight after to get it corrected. Apparently this place was really laid back with patient's information.

As I followed the nurse through the hallway, I heard someone heavily panting and their fast footsteps behind me. I glanced round at Alex's contagious smile. He grabbed my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze as we continued following the nurse into a small room.

"Make yourselves comfortable," the nurse pointed at the chairs which faced a wooden desk. "Your doctor will be here in a minute."

"More like an hour," Alex moaned as he sat down. "How come time to these people-"

"Hello Mr and Mrs Gaskarth," a man with short gray hair interrupted Alex, when he slid onto the seat behind the desk.

"We're not Mr and Mrs Gaskarth," I corrected. "Well we are but my last name's not Gaskarth. Alex here got too carried away filling in the forms on the website."

My words earned a kick in the shin and a smug grin from Alex. I gave him a quick glare before the doctor chuckled.

"We will have to get that sorted. What can I do for you?"

"Sir, wouldn't it be easier to just hold her down and I'll blow into her mouth, the baby should pop right out."

The doctor narrowed his eyes towards Alex. I couldn't tell if he appreciated my boyfriend's logic. The doctor's stare softened with a smile. "Oh if only it was that easy Mr Gaskarth."

Alex returned the doctor's smile.

"Let's see...Mrs, umm Lily is 40 weeks. That's ok. The first born child can be late. I'll do a few tests but right now you just have to wait. It's alright to get to 42 weeks."

"Wait? I've done that for 40 weeks! I'm done waiting. I want to be able to pick things up off the floor without...without it being so hard."

The doctor glanced down at his notes. "Ma'am I understand your discomfort, it won't be long now. Follow me," he stood up and ushered me over to the bed.

Alex's POV

Lily moaned when she attempted to get out of the car. I ran over and helped her. "2 more weeks of this? This is your fault."

"Our fault," I corrected when we walked inside. "It takes two people to get pregnant. Anyway, it might not be the whole two weeks anyway."

I thought that would earn another slap in the face remark, no, she placed her hands on the kitchen counter and took a deep breath before she headed out of the room.

I ran after her. "Are you ok?"

"I'm fine," she spat.

"What was that deep breathing thing just then?"

"I had to calm down from the words that left your mouth. I would like a drink of water please," she ordered.

Well she seemed to be quite annoyed at me for all of this, didn't want to piss her off anymore. "Ok babe," I replied heading back into the kitchen.

"So, she's blaming you for getting her pregnant?"

I jumped as Rian's voice came from behind. "Jesus Ri!"

"Sorry Alex, didn't mean to scare you." He patted my shoulders and grinned.

"I've told Jack this before, you really need to be louder," I moaned. "Yea she just started today."

"Late hey?"

I nodded. "Tests were fine. The baby just wants to stay inside for a bit longer. Doc told us if nothing happens after 2 weeks then they will have to force the baby out."

He raised an eyebrow. "Is that why you're in a mood?"

"Honestly Ri, she's...this baby is making my sweet adorable girlfriend evil. I want it out as much as Lily does."

Rian smirked. "Lily that bad then?"

I nodded again which caused Rian to lean closer and lowered his voice, "brace yourself, it's gonna get worse when she's in labour."

"Where's my water!"

I quickly grabbed a glass. "It's on it's way," I shouted back at Lily to see Sophie barge into the room. "Just the person I need," I smiled.

This made Sophie's smile turn into a look of suspicion. "Umm...if this is about Jack, err..."

I held out the glass towards her. "Save your embarrassment, this is not about my best mate, it's yours. This water's for Lily."

Sophie took it. "How is she?"

"Thirsty," I replied which earned a smile from Sophie and a chuckle from Rian.

"I'd better take it out then," she grinned and made her way over to Lily.

An hour later, I was just about to reply to Jack's recent text when the sound of guitar strings being plucked distracted me. I rushed to the living room, Lily had Zach's bass balanced on her swollen belly. I smiled as she nodded along to her efforts.

After a moment, I reluctantly decided to interrupt. "Yea Zach will be out soon."

She immediately glanced around. "I might as well get some practise in, hey?" she smirked. This was the Lily I wanted back. "Alex, I'm-" She paused to take a deep breath, I stupidly didn't think much of it as she continued pretty quickly, "aiming to kick Zach out really soon." Humour filled her voice.

"I'll let him know..." I trailed off when she rubbed her belly. "Are you ok there?"

"Yep," she nodded.

"Ok...," I grinned a little, sitting on the couch. I decided to give her a hint of what I thought was going on. "We shouldn't get too comfortable tonight...Jack might be coming round." I obviously didn't mean that, Lily was smart, she'd figure it out. I'd just sit here and wait. I grabbed my phone to finally text Jack.

Oh no poor Lily getting uncomfortable! Haha. I'll take the on a break thing off the title as I'm updating again but I don't know the time frame between the next updates. I hope you're still liking this story.
