Lily's POV

I sat on the bed staring down at another positive sign. I'd done another test just in case the first was wrong. I wasn't sure what to think. I needed to tell my mum and Sophie...was I ready to have a baby? I couldn't say.

Alex seemed to have handled this better than I was. At first he just stared at the floor for a moment, turned to face me, smiled and said, "you know what Lily? Having a kid with you is going to be awesome." He then tightly wrapped his arms around me and left with a huge smile.

Now, I'm here, the next day just as nervous with the same result. I got up, threw the test in the bin and made my way downstairs.

"Good morning!" Rian chirped glancing up from his phone.

"Morning," I mumbled.

"What is it?" he asked, detecting my low mood.

"I think it's one of those days where you know shit is going to happen," I grabbed a bowl from the cupboard and placed it on the kitchen bench.

"Yea, those days suck," he replied.

What happened next was out of my control, a tear ran down my cheek followed by another. I tried to wipe them away, I couldn't which is when Rian rushed over and pulled me into his arms. "It's the nightmares right?"

I shook my head and backed out of his hold. "Nah, they're gone...for now," I began, wiping my eyes. "I'm pregnant," I finished in tears again. I was a wreck. I wasn't ready to have this baby.

Rian's eyes widened. "Does Alex know?"

"Yea."

He led me to the living room and sat on the couch with me. "What it's worth, you'll be a great mother."

"What makes you say that?"

"Because I do. Just look at you," he grinned and waved a finger at me. "You're awesome. Alex loves the crap out of you. We all do. If you have this baby, we're all going to be here for you." Rian took hold of my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "You're not alone in this."

Baz and Peyton ran over wagging their tales and tried to jump up next to us. I let go of Rian and picked up Baz, then we both helped Peyton.

"These fellas love you too," he said patting them as they turned round in circles before plonking down resting there heads on me. Baz quickly got up and curled up in my lap. I stroked him while they both calmed down. "I know."

"Lily having a baby may seem scary but it's so rewarding afterwards. Please think seriously about this. I think you're more ready than you think you are." Rian smiled and got up which caused Peyton to open an eye to see what was going on.

"Thank you."

"It's ok. I'll keep quiet but let Alex know for me."

Rian was good. I felt better already. He also said Alex should be home soon, he just popped out for breakfast stuff.

Alex's POV

"I'm ok," I heard Lily speak. I placed the bags down in the kitchen and walked to the couch. Lily smiled as I sat down next to Peyton, who was fast asleep. She had her phone to her ear. "Come over I-I have some news."

After she'd hung up, Lily turned to face me. "Sophie is coming over. I had to tell Rian, I got upset about it when you were out just now..."

"It's cool Lily, are you ok?"

She nodded as Baz stood up and joined Peyton's side. "I'm so scared but I've always wanted children." Her eyes lit up, it was like everything about this baby causing trouble just disappeared.

l pulled her into my arms. "It's going to be one hell of a journey but I want to do it with you," I said softly. "Talk to me Lily, I want to know how you feel."

She looked up at me, her glazed over with tears. "I'm scared...Something is saying I'm not ready but it's quickly being taken over by another saying I am...I'm very confused about it all. We will need to go to the doctors...it's not been confirmed yet..."

"What's not been confirmed?" Sophie's voice came from behind. Lily pulled away, rushed into her best friends arms and sobbed. It hurt to see her break down like that, at least it wasn't the nightmares. I turned, wiped the tears from my eyes and decided to leave the girls alone.

After a couple of hours Sophie joined me in the garden. "So you've knocked my friend up."

"Yea...sorry about that..."

She grinned and shrugged. "Takes two to tango," she smirked. "Thanks for treating her right through all of this shit she's been in lately."

l smiled. "It's ok. The moment I saw Lily in that pub, I knew I had to protect her from that douchebag."

Sophie giggled. "Aww that's so cute."

"How is she?"

"She's asleep with the dogs. They're yours right?"

I nodded.

"They love her already," Sophie grinned. "It's adorable, they're like you."

I chuckled. "I'm glad."

"I thought I'd be the one to have babies first. Lily never had luck with boyfriends. It's true that this kind of stuff happens to the least expected."

I nodded. "Sometimes it is."

Sophie swung her arms around me. Which left me stunned. I awkwardly held her back. She stayed there for a moment before backing off. She grinned from ear to ear. "Yea I finally understand what Lily's been going on about. His heart beat is so relaxing, his chest is so comfy...blah blah blah..." she giggled.

"Well I am Mr. Freakin' Sexy Hairy Chest Gaskarth," I laughed.

"That's true," she winked. "I still have that signed picture."

I smiled and then something came to me. I didn't know why it had only occurred to me now. "Where did the picture come from?"

"Oh-oh the Internet. I found it thinking it was this random chick you were kissing for like a second and then my jaw hit the floor. That's my best friend. What the hell?!" she giggled.

"So there's pictures of us out there?"

"Oh chill! I got the pic myself. Once Lily got all secretive about stuff, I went out. Yes I stalked my best friend, it was awesome." Her smile grew bigger.

"Wow...Lily kept saying you were crazy," I chuckled which led to a playful punch on my arm. "Oww!!"

"Oh be quiet you whimp," she smirked.

I laughed. Sophie was great. Crazy but great. No wonder Lily loved her.

"So you and Jack?"

"He's awesome," she grinned. "Umm Alex I want to ask him if he'd be my boyfriend," her voice lowered as she glanced around.

"Do it. He's always saying how fucking sexy you are," I smiled.

"Really?" she mumbled.

My eyes widened from her sudden low mood. I quickly studied her. Yea she meant Jack's opinion but my next words just slipped out. "You're beautiful Sophie."

Sophie quickly looked up at me, her eyes wide and her cheeks grew pink. "You really think that?"

"I do."

She smirked. "Wow Alex and Jack from All Time Low thinks I'm hot," she giggled and got up. "Thanks I...I've always felt ugly..."

"You shouldn't feel like that," I got up.

Before I could say anything else, Sophie smiled and waved behind her, "thanks, I better go find Jack."

When she'd gone I went to check on Lily, she was still asleep. I bent down and placed my lips gently on her forehead. I began to get up as her hand grabbed mine. "Stay with me," she mumbled. "Alex-Alex stay-stay with me..." Her eyes were closed, I watched them twitch, as she dreamed. I tightened my grip on her hand in hope it will make her dream better. I would stay here for as long as Lily needed me.
