Jacks POV

I just held Alex as he cried on my shoulder.
He stopped crying half an hour later.
He pulled away from me and sniffed loudly and wiped his nose in his sleeve.
"I'm sorry." He said quietly.
"Don't say sorry. You have nothing to be sorry for." I said.
He looked at me and smiled then looked away.
"Would you like a drink?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Tea or coffee?" I asked as I got up.
"Anything stronger?" He asked.
"I already checked, the strongest here is coffee." I said.
"Well damn. As much as I love coffee I could do with a tea." He said and looked at me.
I smiled and nodded and made him his tea.
I walked back over and handed him his tea.
"Thank you." He said quietly.

"Need to go to the morgue." Alex said and got up.
"Go home Alex." I said.
"No, I need to know what that bastard did to my baby brother!" He said loudly.
" I understand that. But right now you need to go home. Cry, scream. Do anything which any normal person would do. Mourn." I said.
"I can't go home. If I go home then I might do something. And I don't want to go back to that! I can't!" He said quietly and got louder as he finished.
"Hey. You don't have to go home. Why don't you come back to my house. You can relax and just try and get your head together." I said quietly.
"I want to see Jacob first." He said seriously.
I sighed and admitted defeat.
"Okay, want me to come with you?" I said.
"Yes please. That's if you want too?" He said.
"Anything to be here for you." I said.
Alex smiled.
"Let's see what is going on shell we?" I asked.
Alex nodded and we walked to the morgue.

"Alex what you doing down here?" The girl said.
"Need to make sure you taking good care of Jacob." Alex said quietly.
"Sweetie go home." She said softly.
Alex glared at her.
"Tell me what happened." He said seriously.
The girl looked at me.
I nodded.
" Okay, so like our friend Harry. Jacob was stabbed in the back 3 times as well as the front. But unlike Harry, Jacob put up a bloody good fight." She said and looked at Alex who had a small smile on his face.
"He used his arms to defend himself." Alex said quietly and lifted Jacobs arm up and looked at them.
"He also had sex with someone." Alex muttered and looked at this hickie on Jacobs neck.
"Its a couple of hours old." The girl said.
"The person who did this to him made sure it was slow and it was painful." The girl said and looked at Alex.
Alex sighed.
"I can't hear anymore." He said quietly.
The girl nodded.
"I'll let you know when you can come down and say goodbye to him." She said.
Alex nodded.
"Just look after him for me." Alex said quietly.
"I'll take extra care and time with him Alex. Let's get the son of the bitch who did this to Jacob and Harry." She said.
Alex smiled and walked out.
"You take care if him. Without Jake, he'll go of the rails. I can't see my friend go down that road again." She said.
"I'll look after him. Don't worry." I said and she smiled.
I smiled and walked out.
Alex was waiting for me.
"Wanna go back to mine?" I asked.
Alex nodded.
"Do you need to get anything from yours?" I asked.
Alex shook his head.
"I can't go back there." He said quietly.
"Okay lets go then." I said and we walked to mine.

We was at mine and Alex was sat on the sofa miles away.
I got him some PJ bottoms and a towel and went to the sitting room.
I sat next to him which made him jump and he looked at me.
"Some PJ bottoms and a towel so you can have a shower or a bath." I said.
Alex smiled and shook his head.
"Don't trust myself." He whispered and went back to looking at nothing.
I got up and went and ran him a bath.
I went back to the sitting and held my hand out.
Alex looked at me confused.
"I'll stay with you while you have a bath. To make sure you don't do anything to yourself." I said softly.
Alex looked down.
I got down to his level and made him look at me.
"Whatever has happened in your past I don't care. Scars anything. I don't care, all I care about is being with you through this difficult time. Being a friend which you probably never had. I will be here for your Alex." I said.
Alex smiled a little.
"Come on, you need a relaxing bath." I said and helped him up and took him to the bathroom.

"Turn around." Alex said.
"Give me a chance." I chuckled and turned round.
I couldn't resist but looked over my shoulder and saw Alex had loads of scars on his back.
I quickly looked back round when I heard Alex get in the bath.
"You can turn round now." He said quietly.
I turned round and sat on the toilet lid.
I looked at his arms and saw scars and needle marks.
"Is this why you don't trust yourself?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I put myself into recovery for Jacob. So he didn't have to see me out of my face or cutting myself so badly that I need to go to hospital. I did it for him. Now he's gone I don't think I stay clean any more." He sniffed.
"Hey. You are going to stay clean, because if you need someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on I'm here. I'll always be here for you." I said.
Alex looked at me.
"Thank you." He said quietly.
I smiled.

Alex got out the bath.
"You hungry? Thirsty?" I asked.
"Tired." He yawned.
I smiled.
"You can have my bed tonight." I said.
"Where would you sleep?" He asked.
"On the sofa." I said.
Alex shook his head and grabbed my hand.
"No. I don't feel safe." He said and looked down and let go of my hand.
"Sorry. I'll go." He said quietly and went to walk off but I caught hold of his hand.
"Don't go." I said.
"I have to. " he whispered.
I walked to the bed room with Alex following behind.
"I'll stay. If you stay as well." I said.
Alex nodded and climbed into bed.
I climbed in behind him.
Alex rolled over and faced me.
"How can I pay you back?" He yawned.
"You don't have too." I said quietly.
He smiled and fell asleep.
I just watched him sleep until I fell asleep as well.
