Alex's POV

I woke up and was alone in the bed.
I sat up and looked around.
"Jack?" I said quietly and got out of bed and wondered round until I found where the kitchen was.

"What you doing up? I was going to bring you breakfast in bed to cheer you up a little." He said.
"You don't have to do that." I said quietly.
"But I want to. But now your up you can have it now." He said.
I looked at him.
"Look, I know you have gone out of your way to help me and everything and I am really thankful for it. But I should go." I said and looked down.
"What? You don't have to go. I'm fine with you staying here for as long as you need to stay." He said.
"I just need my clothes and I'll be gone." I said quietly.
"Alex what's going on?" He asked.
"I don't deserve your help Jack." I said and went to walk off but he caught hold of my hand.
"Alex what is going on in your head?" Jack asked.
"I can't stay here. I need to do something to take my mind of what has happened. I can't stay here Jack!" I said.
Jack pulled me into a hug and I cried into his chest.
"I don't know what to do." I sobbed into his chest.
"Go back to bed. Get some sleep just so you can give yourself a break. Then when you wake up you can have something to eat." He said and softly kissed the top of my head.
I nodded into his chest.
"Go back to bed." He said quietly and pulled away.
I looked down and went to the bedroom.

I must of fell asleep as when I woke up I had a arm round my waist and Jack snoring quietly behind me.
I moved a little and he woke up.
"Shit, I'm sorry." He yawned and went to move his arm but I put my hand on top of his.
"Don't say sorry." I said quietly and rolled over and faced him.
He moved his hand and brought to my face which made me flinch away from him.
I looked down and sighed.
"Sorry." I said quietly.
"What happened?" He asked and looked at my arm.
"A life time of hell." I said quietly.
Jack looked at me.
"What did they do to you?" He asked quietly.
I looked at him.
"The unforgivable. You think it and they probably did it." I said and looked back down again.
Jack pulled me into a hug.
"You didn't desvere what happened to you." He said quietly.
"It was either me or Jacob. I wasn't going to let him get beaten and abused by them and destroy him like they did with me." I said.
"You did what you had to do." He said and I nodded.

I heard my phone go off.
I looked at it and saw one of Jacobs friends had texted me.
'Meet at my place half an hour.'
I sighed and moved away from Jack and went to get dressed.
"I have to go somewhere." I said as I pulled a shirt on.
"Want me to come?" Jack asked.
"No. You might scare her." I said and pulled a pair of skinny jeans on.
"Scare who?" He asked.
"The last person who probably saw Jacob alive." I said and put some shoes on.
"Will you come back?" Jack asked.
I thought about it for a second.
"Yes." I said and Jack smiled.
"See you later." I said and walked out the door.

I got to her place and knocked on the door.
Few seconds later the door opened.
"Alex." She sobbed and I pulled her into a hug.
"Its okay. Everything is going to be okay Leah." I said quietly.
She sniffed loudly and moved away from me.
"Want to come in?" She asked.
I nodded and followed her in.
I sat on the sofa and looked around.
Leah sat next to me.
"He was here the night he died." She sniffed.
I looked at her.
"What did you two do?" I asked.
"Got stoned like normal and had sex. That's it Alex I swear." She said and looked at me.
"He was here all night?" I asked.
"Yeah, when I woke up he was gone. No note nothing which isn't like him because he always left me a note saying where he was so I didn't have to worry." She sniffed.
"Did you take anything?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Mostly heroin." She said and looked down.
I looked away from her and sighed.
"Alex I'm so sorry." She said.
"You was meant to be getting clean Leah." I said.
"I know, I know. But he knows where I am and says I'm his bitch and everything. That's why.." She said and I finished her sentence.
"That's why Jacobs dead. But what about Harry?" I said and looked at her.
"Harry pissed him off. Here, I have this. I hope it helps." She said and pushed her phone in my hands.
"Do you know who he is?" I asked.
She nodded.
"But you can't say. I understand." I said and stood up.
"Where you going?" She asked.
"I need to speak to my partner." I said.
"Alex has a boyfriend." She smirked.
"No, my CSI partner, but I'm working on the whole boyfriend part but that's been put on hold." I said.
"Get in there Lex." She smiled.
I smiled back.
"Seriously though. All the shit you're going through and have been through you more right than anyone to get your happily ever after." She said.
"Hopefully. Fingers crossed." I said quietly.
She smiled.
She stood up and pulled me into a hug.
"Take care Lex." She said quietly.
"You too. You know my number and I'm only a phone call away." I said and she nodded.
"I'll see you soon." I said and kissed the top of her head and walked back to Jacks.
