Dancing with the wolves

Rowan's POV

I heard my door open and saw dad leaning against the door frame.
"Up you get buddy, you have school." He said.
"I'm not going." I said and pulled the covers over my head.
"Please Row, I know you don't want to go but you have too." Dad said and walked into my room and sat on my bed.
I sighed and looked at him.
"Can we have a takeaway tonight if I go?" I asked.
"Yes we can, only if I don't get a phone call from the school saying I need to pick you up and that you survive the whole day at school." He said.
I groaned but nodded.
Dad smiled.
"Be quiet when you come downstairs as Aid and Will are asleep on the sofa." He said and I nodded and dad walked out the room.
I sighed and rolled out of bed and had a shower and got dressed and went downstairs.

Will and Aid was still flat out asleep on the sofa.
I wondered out to the kitchen where dad was given Zig and Flo their breakfast.
"Why isn't mummy up?" Zig asked.
"Because mummy isn't well." Dad said and I made him jump as I stood beside him and stole some toast.
"But mummy looks fine." Zig said.
"Enough with the questions okay. Mummy isn't well and she needs some sleep." Dad said.
Zig nodded and carried on eating his toast.
"I'll see you later." I said and grabbed my bag and board.
"Laters Row." Dad said and I walked out the door.

Since Mike left I felt really lonely.
" Cheer up Row, you'll find someone." My friend Ruby said.
"You try losing your best friend and then tell yourself to cheer up." I said.
"Rowan Barakat to the office please." Someone said over the speaker.
I rolled my eyes and slowly made my way to the office.
"I haven't even done anything yet." I said as I got to the office.
"Your not in trouble Rowan." The head said and I turned round and looked at them.
"Then why am I here?" I asked.
"Rowan I want you to meet Casey." They said and this boy wheeled up beside them and was looking down.
"Nice to meet you Casey. But what am I meant to do?" I said really confused.
"Rowan, Casey is new here and I would like you to be a friend to him and show him around and look out for him." The head said.
"I might be in a wheelchair but I can look after myself." Casey said.
"See, he don't need me so I'll be going back to class." I said and turned round.
"Not so fast Mr Barakat." The head said and I groaned and looked at them.
"What? He's made it clear he don't need my help so why should I waste my fucking time on helping him?" I said.
"Rowan I know you miss Mike." The head sighed.
"Wow big whoop think everyone has gathered that." I said sarcastically.
" Rowan just listen!" The head said loudly.
I sighed out of annoyance.
" Casey is new here and I'm trusting you to show him round the place." They said.
"Wow your actually willing to let me show people despite my issues." I said sarcastically.
" Rowan can you just do this for me." The head sighed.
"Fine. Coming with Casey." I said and he nodded and followed behind me.

Me and Casey was sat on the field smoking because i couldnt be borthered to go to class and Casey was just following me around.
"Aren't you a bit young to smoke?" He asked.
"Fucks arent really given." I said.
"So..." Casey said.
"Any siblings?" I asked as I might as well be a friend to him.
"Yeah, I have an much older brother and a younger brother. You?" He said.
"Yerp, 2 older brothers 1 older sister and 1 younger sister." I said.
"Wow, how old?" He asked.
"Seth is 28, Riley is 27, Aidan is 24 and Finn is 12. What about yours?" I said.
"Matty is nearly 30 and Nathan is 10." He said and looked down.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, its just home life isn't easy for me and my family." He said quietly.
"How come?" I asked.
"Because I'm in a wheelchair and Nathan has downs syndrome and Matty has a drug problem." He sniffed.
"If it makes you feel any better my family has a load of mental problems." I said and put my hand on his knee.
He looked at me and smiled.
"What's wrong with them?" He asked.
"My dad and Seth both have BDP. Riley has anxiety, Aidan and Finn has depression and I have ADHD and some behavioural problems." I said.
"Fuck." He chuckled.
"So your mum doesn't have anything wrong with her?" He asked.
"I don't have a mum. I have 2 dads." I said.
Casey frowned.
"Its hard to explain. Do you live with your mum And dad?" I asked.
"Just my dad. My mum died in a car accident, the same one which put me in this fucking thing." He said and looked at his wheelchair.
"I'm sorry about that." I said and looked down.
"Its fine. I've sort of gotten over it and I'm still getting used to this." He said.
I smiled.
"Boys get to your lessons now!" A teacher said.
Me and Casey just groaned and we went to lessons.

"I have no idea what I have to do." Casey said.
"Wanna come round mine and I'll try and help, but I'm not the best as I can't focus very well." I said and Casey chuckled.
"Yeah, I would like that." He smiled.
Ive already fallen in love with his smile.
"Good, follow me then." I said as we went back to mine.

Aidan and Will was just leaving with the kids.
"See you later trouble." Aidan said as she walked pasted me since she was carrying Flo.
"Laters.." I said.
"Damn I would literally fuck the dude." Casey said.
"Will? Sadly he's Aidan's husband." I chuckled.
" Well damn." He said and wheeled himself into the house.
"Dad? Pa?" I said loudly as I threw my bag on the side.
"Hey Row." Pa said from the sitting room.
"I have a friend round." I said.
"You have friends!?" Dad said from the kitchen.
"Ha ha, yes I have bloody friends." I said and dad walked out and smiled when he saw Casey.
"Dad this is Casey, Casey with is my dad Alex and my Pa Jack who's in the sitting room." I said.
"Nice to meet you Casey." Dad said and walked into the sitting and jumped on Pa.
"Fuck Alex." Pa groaned.
I chuckled and walked into the kitchen and into the garden with Casey following.

"They seem cute." He said and wheeled next to me.
"You say that now but they'll annoy with their cuteness." I said.
"Relationship goals." Casey chuckled.
"No I think my brother Seth and his husband Tyler are relationship goals." I said.
" So is everyone in your family gay?" He asked.
"Me and Seth are gay. Riley is pansexual, Aidan is bisexual and I think Finn is gay but I don't know." I said.
Casey smiled and his phone went off.
"I have to go." He said sadly.
"But you just got here." I said.
"My dad wants me home. I'll see you tomorrow." He said and went off.
I sighed and looked down and messed with my shoes.
Someone came out and sat next to me.
"He seems okay." Pa said.
"He's nice but he has a hard time at home I think." I said.
"I'm sure he'll be okay." Pa said and pulled me to his side.
I smiled and hoped he was right.
