Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
Vacation is over, and now it's back to the real world. Back to work and school. I balance my pencil on my upper lip and let it drop as I look back down at my notes. Finals are soon and I'm stressing out. I let out a deep sigh and go back to writing. The only way that I memorize something is if I write it over and over, and this is the 10th time that I'm writing my notes. It's worked in the past, and I know it's going to work for my finals. I twist my wrist a bit and go back to writing. I know Jack is just as busy, I haven't really seen him with how much we have to study. "Okay Nyssa, you're fine, just listen to the music and write." "Are you okay Nyssa?" I look up at Alex and lean back. "No, I'm really stressed out from studying. This is the tenth time that I'm writing my notes and my wrist hurts." "How about I massage it and you take a break." "I can't take a break, I've already taken one from procrastinating. My finals are in a few days-" "And that is the sound of someone who needs a real break. Come on, get up and lay stomach down on your bed." "What are you going to do?" "Don't worry, I'm not trying anything."

I get up and go over to my bed, I lay down and bury my face into my pillows. Alex starts to slowly massage my lower back and I let out a groan. Oh dear god, I didn't realize how tight my back is. "How's that?" "Harder," I mumble into the pillows. He massages harder and it makes me groan in pleasure. "Yeah, right there." He massages more, getting more groans from me. "This feels so good." "I could tell how stresses you were, so I knew that this is what you needed." "Thanks for noticing." The last thing he massages is my wrist and I groan even more. "Oh dear god Alex." "Does it hurt?" "It feels so good. Keep going." He massages my hand, up to my wrist, and up my arm. "Does that feel better?" "So much better." He kisses my hand and I look up at him. "I think I can focus more now." "That was my goal. To help you relax so that you can focus better." I sit up and give him a quick kiss, "thanks Alex. I really needed that."

"Finals are done!!!," Jack and I scream. We take out our notes and start tearing them up. "What are you guys doing?," Alex asks us. "This is our tradition. At the end of every semester, or year during high school, we would tear up all of our notes and throw them away." "And it gets even better because the school has an event at the end of the spring semester where we can toss everything into a fire." "Everyone loves it." "That sounds really fun." "It is, and remember how I told you about that event I signed us up for to dance at?" "Yeah." "That's tonight as well, it takes place after the fire." "Well I have it all memorized, so I'm ready," he smiles down at me and pulls me close by my waist. "Thanks Alex. Are you doing anything Jack?" "I have something planned." "Jack plays guitar and sings. I used to join him on the singing part." "You sing?" "A bit. But I rather dance." "I would love to hear you sing one day." "Maybe, one day."

"Well I'll see you tonight Nyssa, I have to go practice for tonight." "Okay Jack." He picks up his torn notes, stuffs them into a bag, and walks out. "I'm so glad the semester is over," I mumble and rest my head on his chest. He rubs my back and kisses my head. Ever since I told Alex about what happened, he hasn't tried to force me to do anything. I'm so glad that I told him... I feel like it brought us closer... "Are you nervous for tonight?" "A little, and excited at the same time. I think because I've usually done this with Jack, even for our schools talent shows." "Well what about with me?" "I mean, I'm excited because I get to do it with you. But you at the same time, I'm just nervous in general." "Well I'll be there with you the entire time," he smiles down at me and tucks my hair behind my ears. "Thanks Alex."

"How the hell did she get a guy like that?" "Who fucking knows." "He can do so much better." I hear girls mumble and I hold Alex's hand tighter. "Nyssa, are you okay?" "I'm fine, I promise." Whenever I'm with Alex on campus, this is what I hear half of the time. And sometimes I wonder if I'm even good enough for Alex... We keep walking and I slowly look up to see Claire and the same guy I saw her with a long time ago. I smile to myself and watch them, it seems like they're really dating and she's happy, actually happy. Claire looks over and sees me. She looks at me awkwardly and I give her a small wave. She gives me a small wave and smiles a bit. "Who did you wave at?" "An old friend who's finally happy." "Okay everyone!!," a guy yells in the mic. "Since we did our tradition of throwing our notes into the fire, it's time for the entertainment!" Everyone cheers and claps. "Okay! Up first! Claire and Alex doing a group dance!" People clap and we run onto the stage. As soon I get on stage some people stop clapping and I hear them mumble.

My breathing starts getting fast as I notice the looks they're giving me. "This is a mistake," I mumble and start walking off but Alex grabs my hand. He steps close and leans down, "don't listen to them. Just ignore them. Only listen to me. I believe in you, and I know you can do this. You're so much more than they know." He kisses my forehead, "are you okay now?" I nod and he walks me to the middle of the stage. I nod to the sound system people and the music starts. Alex starts dancing and I freeze up. Why do I have to be like this? He keeps dancing and looks at me worried. "You can do it Nyssa!!!," I hear someone yell. I look out into the crowd and see Claire waving her arms big. "You can do it!!," she yells and smiles. I smile at her and listen to the music. I watch Alex a bit and start dancing with him which causes him to smile. When we finish the routine people clap and yell for us. I throw my arms around his neck and he picks me up to spin me around which causes me to scream.

We get off stage and the guy comes on. "Okay! Give it up again for Claire and Alex! Okay next is Jack Barakat performing a song." Jack gets on stage with his guitar and adjusts the mic. "Okay, this is a cover of a song. And I'm singing this for a special someone," this causes some cheers and whistles. Alex wraps his arms around me from behind and rests his chin on my head. Jack starts playing, "I don't want this moment to ever end. Where everything's nothing without you. I wait here forever just to, to see you smile," I stare at him as he sings. "I want you to know! With everything I won't let this go! These words are my heart and soul! I'll hold onto this moment you know! 'Cause I'd bleed my heart out to show and I won't let go!" He looks at me as he sings and I bite my lower lip. He's singing about me. I know he is. When he finishes the song, people clap and cheer and he jumps off stage. He looks at me and walks into the crowd. "Jack! I'll be back Alex." "Okay Nyssa." He lets go of me and I push my way through the crowd.

"Jack! Wait!" I keep pushing through, I can't find him anywhere. When I finally get out of the crowd, Jack is no where to be found. "Jack!" "Who are you looking for?" A guy asks me, I look up at him, "did you see a guy with skunk hair and a guitar?" "Um, sorry no." "It's fine.." I let out a deep breath and look down. "Hey... I saw you on stage, what's your name again?" I look up at him and push up my glasses. "Nyssa." "Nyssa..." He studies my face a bit and I look at him confused. "Wait, I think I know who you are." "Y-you do?" "They way you pushed up your glasses, and those glasses, and your hair in braids... I do know you!" "Um, wh-who are you?" He smiles big, "it's me. Jungkook. From middle school and high school." I study his face a bit and it hits me like a wall. Oh. My god. "Do you remember me?" "Y-yeah." "I remember you. Why didn't you sing tonight?" "I wanted to dance instead with my boyfriend." "You have a boyfriend?" "Yeah." "Strange, for some reason I thought it would always be Jack." "Y-you thought that?" "Okay, confession time." He runs his hand through his hair, "I actually had a crush on you back then." "You did!?"

I stare at him shocked. No fucking way. "I did," he smiles and laughs a bit. "But I never asked you out because of how close you were with Jack. I thought you two were dating but didn't tell anyone." "Oh no, we've never dated. My boyfriend is my first. Jack and I are still close though." But I really need to find him... I know that song was to me... "Dang, now I wish that I did ask you out back then." I blush at that, Jungkook has gotten a lot more cuter over the years. "I-I'm sorry Jungkook. But I have to go." "That's fine. See you around some time?" "Yeah." I run off and look around, with it being night time, it's a little harder to see someone. "Jack... Where are you.." First Jack sings that song, and then I run into Jungkook who I haven't seen since high school who just admitted he had a crush on me. This is some night.
