Perfect Boyfriend

Nyssa's POV:
I stare down at Claire, she's woken up now, we're at the hospital. "I'm so glad that you're okay Claire." I grab her hand and she looks away from me. "What is it Claire?" "You told me you're boyfriend did this to me?" "Yeah." "And you're going to stay with him now?" I stare at Claire and slowly let go of her hand. "You should let Claire rest, Nyssa," Jack tells me. I nod, get up, and leave.

I finally find the manual and look through it, there has to be something in here that relates to this type of situation. Like if Alex malfunctioned or something. I keep looking and freeze when I read something. If the Perfect Boyfriend hurts a human, the user can return him without penalty.... I sit on my bed and stare at the floor. Alex is the reason Claire is in the hospital... Alex could have handled this situation differently... I thought he was smart... Am I... Am I really going to keep Alex now...

*TWO DAYS LATER*
"Tell us Alex, what exactly happened on this trip?" "Well, I noticed that the girls were treating Nyssa differently." "Different as in?" "They were talking to her. I've noticed when girls talk to Nyssa, it's never good." "Well you can't base this off of past experience." "I know. There was one moment though. Sara and her friends were with us. Sara was trying to keep my attention, and I noticed that her friends were sort of behind Nyssa. I finally gave Sara my full attention for a few seconds and then I hear Nyssa scream. I look and Nyssa is running down the hill like she was pushed." "Pushed?" "Yes sir. I know how Nyssa runs, and this run was like she had no balance. Like she was pushed." "I see." They nod and write something down. They asked me and Sara to sit in while Alex got questioned. But we had to stay quiet. They talk to low for us to hear and our teacher nods. "After looking at the evidence, we have concluded that Nyssa is sane and innocent. We have concluded that Sara and the others were bullying Nyssa on this trip and have decided that they will be taken out of their classes for the rest of the semester."

I stare at them in shock, Sara quickly gets up and leaves the room. Alex smiles at me and walks over to me, "shall we go eat something Nyssa? I know you're hungry." I just stare up at Alex. He has no idea why it was wrong of what he did. It's because... It's because he's a robot...

"Nyssa, why are we at a docking station?" "Because... Rian is meeting us..." "Why is Rian meeting us?" "Because he's taking you away." "But why? I love being with you." "But is your love real?" "What are you talking about?" "You're a robot Alex.... Is your love real?" "Nyssa... I-" "And what you did to Claire... You're a robot. You could have figured out a different solution to help me. But instead, you caused Claire to go to the hospital. And you don't even see what's wrong with that." He doesn't even see what he did wrong... "I just wanted to protect you Nyssa." "I'm returning you Alex." "Why are you returning me?" "Because if the Perfect Boyfriend hurts a human, the user can return them without penalty." "Well, if that will make you happy. I'll be happy." I stare at him, "you don't get it do you?" "I just want you to be happy. And if this will make you happy, I'll be happy." "I-I don't believe this." Why has it taken me this long to realize this? To see how different he is?

"I'm happy with what you did Alex. But you've just shown me the main difference between us. Between a human and a robot." I start walking away and he grabs my shoulder. I shrug his hand away, "goodbye Alex." I run off, fighting back the tears. "Nyssa!! Wait!!" I keep running, I see the Uber that I had requested to drive us here still waiting. "Nyssa!!" I get in the car and close the door before Alex gets to the car. "Please drive. Now." We drive off and Alex runs after us. "Please drive faster." The driver listens and we go faster. Alex is banging on the window and I don't look at him. "Nyssa! Nyssa please stop! Nyssa I love you!" "Go away Alex..," I whisper. Alex finally stops following us.

Rian's POV:
I finally find Alex, he's staring down the road. "Ah. There you are Alex. Where's Nyssa?" "She left." "Wait. Wait... She's returning you... And you're not going to fight for her!?" "The ring is black." Black... Nyssa hates him... This isn't good!! "Well. Um. If you come with me, we'll get ready to leave."

Nyssa's POV:
I stare out the window, I only keep thinking of Alex. Mainly the happy memories. The time he saved me from Alec both times. The times he made me laugh. The times he made me nervous when he was to close. The time when he was there for after my nightmare.... "S-Stop! Please go back!!" The driver shakes his head, turns around, and drives back to the dock. When we reach the dock, I run out of the car and run onto the dock. "ALEX! ALEX I'M SORRY!! ALEX!!" I look around for him, "ALEX!!" I start crying, I hope Rian didn't show up yet. "PLEASE ALEX! I'M SORRY! I DON'T WANT YOU TO LEAVE!! Please don't leave me!!..." I drop to my knees and cry more. "I'm so sorry Alex... I don't want you to leave..." "Nyssa." I quickly turn around and see Alex. "Alex!!" I quickly get up and hug him, crying into his chest. "I'm so sorry Alex. I'm so sorry," I cry. Alex holds me and kisses my head. "I don't blame you for wanting to return me Nyssa. I had hurt your best friend. I don't blame you for being angry at me."

I look up at him and he wipes my tears. "R-really?" He smiles at me, "of course." I smile at him, he leans down, and kisses my cheek. "Let's go home Nyssa. I'll make you your favorite dinner."

Rian's POV:
Well that was a close one. Even though Nyssa can return Alex, she has the right to keep him as well. I smile to myself and watch them leave while holding hands. "I knew you didn't want to return Alex, Nyssa." Now if only Alex can get Nyssa to do it with him, that'll help us out a lot. Nyssa also has to allow Alex to actually kiss her, just not on the cheek. Because things can go wrong if they don't actually kiss.
