The Experts Say I'm Delirious
"We're so sorry."
“Why are we at the beach?” Jack questioned. “Alesia and I don’t even have swimming suits.”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Alex said as he grabbed two bags out of the trunk. “Now go put this shit on, so we can have some fun.”
Shit.
Alesia thought the same thing but not as a swear word. She absolutely did not want to even touch the water. That salty liquid was evil. The girl just wanted to go home and cuddle with plushie. Alesia wanted nothing to do with the deadly ocean.
“There’s a bathroom over there.” Jack pointed to it. “Come on.” He excitedly ran as fast as he could to the building. The other guys ran after him. Alesia, however, walked slowly.
What was taking her so long? All the guys were waiting outside the girls’ bathroom. However, Jack was the most curious. His mind kept darting back to the sketch she drew. She said that she sketched her life. What did the ocean have to do with her life? Was it a good thing that they brought her here or a bad thing? The look in her eyes kept playing in his head. This was probably a bad idea.
When Alesia finally came out, she was wearing a sky blue bathing suit. The bottom piece was this frilly skirt. His face reddened at the sight. She was so… beautiful.
“I thought you’d like that,” Alex whispered in Jack’s ear. He turned to the guys. “Come on! Let’s swim!” Alex, Rian, and Zack started off towards the water.
Alesia was nervous and scared. Jack could tell. “Do you want to build a sandcastle with me?”
“Yeah, I’d love to. I haven’t built one since I was 12.”
Although it was a small smile, the smile that Alesia gave made him feel a lot better. Maybe this wouldn’t be that bad.
Jack ran over to what he thought was a perfect spot. His arms waved like crazy for the girl to come over. She did and sat her body down next to him, Jack started by building the base of the castle up. The teen studied his hands as they started to make the most crooked sandcastle ever. She placed her hands on his as she moved them the right way.
“You do it like this.”
“Oh.” He could barely breathe. His heart was beating fast. He couldn’t believe how he was feeling right now. He had never been affected by a girl like this before. Alesia turned and smiled at him. “I have to go to the bathroom.”
“Oh, ok.” He quickly got up and ran to the bathroom as fast as he could.
Jack found himself slamming his head on the wall. When did he be become so shy? He was Jack fucking Barakat. He never gets shy. In fact, he has never even cared what people think of him. Why was this one girl making him feel this way? He knew that he liked her. He liked other girls in the past, but they never made him feel this way. Alesia was the only one.
“Why aren’t you swimming?” Alex asked Alesia as she stared up at the three men. He knew that she read his lips, but she didn’t answer. He turned to Zack and Rian. “Shall we?”
The group picked her up and started to carry her over to the liquid. She squirmed and kicked, but it was no use. They went in waist deep before throwing her in.
Jack heard a blood curdling scream as he exited the bathroom. Alesia was the only girl on the beach. It had to be her. He started running in the direction of the scream to find his band mates staring with wide eyes at the girl in front of them as she freaked out. Jack ran as fast as he could over to her and scooped her up into his arms. He quickly went over to where the sandcastle was and sat down with Alesia on his lap. Her head was buried in his chest. He rubbed her back and gently rocked her.
“We’re so sorry,” Rian said when they reached him.
“Fuck off!” Jack wasn’t angry. He was furious.
“Dude, we didn’t know,” Alex tried to explain.
“How could you not have known?! Didn’t you see the look in her eyes when we got here, after she changed, and every other time she looked at the water?!”
“Of course we didn’t! We weren’t staring at her like you were! We thought it would be fun! We didn’t know that she was scared of the ocean!”
Of course they wouldn’t know. She was hiding her fear well. If you weren’t looking for it, you wouldn’t have noticed. “I’m sorry for yelling.”
“It’s ok. Do you know ‘I’m sorry’ in sign language?” Jack showed him. Alex tapped Alesia on the shoulder, who then turned to look at them. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s ok,” she said as she wiped her eyed. I never told you, so you wouldn’t know that the ocean is evil. It’s stained with blood.”
“What do you mean?”
She shook her head. “I’m not telling. I don’t like talking about it.”
“You don’t have to,” Jack said into her hair.
She may not have been able to hear him, but she didn’t have to. Jack was holding her and trying to calm her down. She really did make a good decision by going with him. “Can we go home now?”
Jack nodded as he picked her up and brought her over to the car. He gave her a towel from the bag and his shirt. He could tell that she wasn’t in the mood to get dressed. He placed towels on all the seats before getting in with Alesia. The other members got in soon after, still in their trunks, but they did put their shirts on.
“We are really sorry about ruining the day,” Zack apologized to Jack.
“It’s ok… Actually, I know how you can make it up.”
“How?”
“I want you to babysit her while I go buy her something.”
“We can do that.”
Alesia wasn’t listening to what they were saying. Instead, she cuddled up to Jack and closed her eyes as the memories came flooding back. The last thing she thought before she went to sleep was that they never finished their sandcastle.
Jack took the sleeping body into his place before getting dressed. His lips pecked her head. He felt so lucky to have met her. When he started off towards the door, he saw the guys looking at him, eyebrows raised. The pervert of the group just kissed a girl on the head. He didn’t do or say anything inappropriate. Jack blushed. “Awwws” started to spill from their lips.
“Fuck you,” Jack said as he walked passed them. “I probably won’t be long.”
“Ok,” Alex said. “We’ll be waiting, Prince Charming.”

Yep. I made the fist chapter 12 pages because I'm adding a bunch of stuff. The second is 10, but it's not the second chapter of this story. It's actually her just getting her stuff and having the guy character (his name is Elijah) driving her to his place. I did the same with another one that I started writing, but I haven't finished the finally copy yet. The rough draft has been done, but I only have four and a half chapters done because I'm adding more stuff.
The main difference would be that they do call her Aly in the begining because I found a way to work with it and the chapter where Alesia reveals herself, she has nightmares, and Elijah has a backstory that is also going to be a book. That, and I don't know what to call it yet because it will have a different name.
