Jack

My shift at the waterpark ended and it was finally time to go home. Alex’s parents, plus Tom, went home a couple hours ago and Alex stayed at the park with me. We didn’t have anymore run ins with Oliver, and I was hoping he would just get back on a different plane and just head back to his parents place, he wasn’t wanted here. Alex was finally showing a little bit more happier side to him until asshole showed his face.

We just got out of my car and went into my house, my parents left this morning to go back to their business trips and it was just us now. “So, thoughts on what’s going on?” Alex asked as we entered my kitchen and I grabbed out stuff to make us sandwiches.

“All depends on what you are meaning when you say that?” I asked with a confused look.

“The whole Oli thing.” He paused for a minute. “Like, are you just going to give up on our relationship because he came here?” His voice was quiet as he spoke. I put the bread down and walked over to him, placing my hands on his cheeks to get him to look up at me.

“Just because some jerk came back to try and win you over doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere. We haven’t been together for long and I already care way too much about you. I’m going to try my best to protect both you and this child, as if it was my own.” I answered to him, looking him straight in his eyes so he knows I was not lying to him. He smiled at at me and placed his arms around my waist and placed his head on my chest, as I placed my arms around his shoulders and held onto him.

“Thank you, Jack. I promise, I would never leave someone as great as you for someone like Oli. Or anyone for that matter. You’re right, we haven’t been together, or even known each other that long but I feel as if all of this was meant to happen. I was meant to have that stupid one night stand with Oli, I was meant to get pregnant, I was meant to move to Baltimore. All of it lead to me meeting the most amazing guy in the world.” He spoke into my chest as we continued the loving hug we were embraced into.

“I’m glad you did, Lex. I’m really glad you did. If it never happened, I would have never met you and I would have been heartbroken to know that I could care around someone on the world but never be able to hold them in my arms.” I placed a kiss on his head and we broke apart from the hug. “Now, how about those sandwiches? I’m sure both of you cuties are hungry.” I chuckled as he giggled and we both went back over to the island in the middle of the kitchen and I finished making them up and gave Alex his, and we both took seats at the table right next to each other. “By the way, if you want, you can stay the night. Or you can go back home, since I know Tom will only be here for a week and you guys need to spend time together.”

“I think I’ll just stay here for the night. Tom can deal without me being there for a little bit.” He giggled again as he spoke, which caused me to smile.
