So if you're wondering why I'm leaving,
Stop a second and count the reasons;
You don't listen, don't care, don't try.
That's the reason and this is why.
"Rian, what am I supposed to do," I cried into the clutched phone.

"Honestly, I have no clue. Go to a party I guess, try to get your mind off of everything," he told me.

"Coming here was such a mistake."

"Don't say that. You would have never known about this if you hadn't been there. Would you have wanted to continue to date a cheater? You deserve so much better than him so why are you going to waste your time on trash like him?"

"Because I'm in love with him Rian, he is m everything, my best friend, the love of my life."

"It's your choice to keep the friendship but don't stay with him Alex. Go to the party to forget about him, you don't need him."

I hung up the phone and decided that Rian was probably right. Maybe if I let loose things would be fine. Maybe I should try to forget about things for even a night. There were parties going on and that might be exactly what I needed right now. I went onto Yik Yak asking where any parties were going to be. Quickly there were a lot of answers, many of which were not really helpful but once person helped me. They gave me their kik and we quickly started talking. I was taken aback to find that she was a girl and rather attractive at that.

She was more than willing to drive to the party and I had never been more thankful for the kindness of strangers. The girls name was Lisa and she was absolutely the sweetest person to me and we clicked really quickly. Out of curiosity I asked if she knew Jack and it was no big surprise that she had. What did surprise me is she was also from Baltimore and even went to the same high school as us. I had never remembered seeing her. We decided that she should come over earlier just to talk. I gave her my room number, waiting for her.

I still couldn't get what Jack had done out of my mind. Why had he cheated on me, what had I really done wrong? I still couldn't wrap my mind around any of this. Why was Vic so much better than me, when had I even given Jack the thought that cheating on me was an option? A knock tore me from my thoughts. I opened the door and the small brunette girl was standing there, smiling at me.

"Oh Lisa, hi," I smiled at her.

"Hey, can I come in," she asked.

I motioned for her to come in as I said, "Really, we went to high school, why have I never seen you around?"

"Haha, you were always hanging around with your posse of guys, that Barakat kid included. You guys still talk to everyone," she asked as she sat on the bed.

"Not really, I met more people in college and Jack and I kinda fell out."

"Oh, I'm sorry, can I ask why?"

"He cheated on me."

For some reason I felt like I could trust her. I felt no reason for why I should be afraid to tell her. I wasn't sure why I was able to talk to her so easily but I still did. She crawled closer to me and put her hand on my shoulder and gave me a sad smile.

"I'm so sorry, no one deserves that," she apologized.

"You have no reason to apologize. Anyway, it's getting close to the party time, let's get going," I said.

Notes

I'm so sorry that there hasn't been any updates from me recently, to say I've been busy is a little bit of an understatement. This is the first time this break I haven't been working and at school I'm practicing seven instruments throughout the week as well as trying to balance making a band which is difficult to say the least. Thank you everyone for being patient and I'm going to try to get out longer and better chapters.
