A Love Like War

I finally had my family back, and I couldn’t be any more happy. Alex talked me into going back to college, but I only agreed if he would go back to online class to finish up his Senior year. As much as he refused, I had my ways around getting what I wanted, and all of it involves sex. We also agreed, that two nights a week we would have date night. Where we would drop Miracle off at Rian and Cass’ house to watch her. Alex hasn’t talked to his parents much since we got back together. I think it mostly had to do with the fact that they kept Miracle from me, because he told me that he always told them to let me see her if I ever stopped by.
I was currently in my lecture hall, taking down every note possible. I needed to catch up if I was going to graduate from here on time. Another cool thing is, I was let back on the lacrosse team. Alex even helps me with practice every now and then. He still has so much passion for the game, and I will never, ever forgive myself for ruining his life. But, on the bright side, we did get an amazing little daughter out of all that stress. She has been doing so well with walking lately, and can almost fully walk on her own. We even have her potty trained, it’s crazy how fast she learns.
Speaking of that little girl, I can hear her little voice right now in my head. Wait, that’s not in my head. “Daddy!” There it was again. I turned around and saw everyone else was also turning around. I was in the middle of the lecture hall when I seen a little girl walk and stumble down the row. I shook my head and smiled as she got back to her feet and stood at the end of my row and made grabby hands my way. I got up from my seat and walked past all the other students who were chuckling at how cute my baby girl was. I reached her and picked her up.
“Are how did you get here? Did I miss your driver’s lesson or something?” I asked her as I brought her into my arms.
“Nah, I brought her.” I heard another voice say. It wasn’t Alex, that was for sure. I turned and saw Zack standing there with a smile on his face. Alex forgave him, and they got closer than ever. It took me a bit longer to forgive him, but I did, and now he is my best friend again.
“And where is her Father?” I questioned him.
“Holding her.” He smirked.
“You know what I mean, you prick. Where’s Alex?”
“Out with Cass and Rian. He wanted me to watch the little princess, but we got bored and thought it would be fun to come and mess with her other Dad while he is at college.”
“Well that was the wrong decision, please sit down Mr. Barakat, lecture is not finished yet.” My professor said. Just as he finished up speaking, the bell to say lecture hall was over, rung.
“Looks like it is now.” Zack chuckled. Mostly the whole class always stayed behind in the lecture hall to get extra help, but it looks like I won’t be able to do that right now. I set Miracle down on the ground and walked back in my row, moving past all the people sitting in their chairs to get to my chair where my stuff was. I packed it all up and turned around. Once I turned around, I wanted nothing more than to show off how amazing my little girl was.
I got down on my knees and held out my arms. “Come to Daddy, babygirl.” I said with my baby voice that I always use to talk to her. She giggled and started walking over to me, holding her arms out in front of her. I heard girls in the room say many different ‘awe’ and ‘how cutes’. I chuckled as Miracle tripped on her own two feet, but got back up and continued her way over to me. She finally reached me and I picked her up, standing back up on my own feet, and spun her around as she was a giggling mess. “Come on sweetheart. Let’s go get some ice cream before we head home. And maybe when we get home, Daddy will be there as well. If not, we are going to call Uncle Rian and Aunt Cass and find out if they kidnapped him, sound good?”
She was getting so used to words so quickly, that she always agreed or disagreed with things. My favorite was when she agreed, because that means I get my way. She giggled again and nodded her head. I smiled at the little girl in my arms and walked down the aisle and over to meet Zack. “Off to get ice cream, then back to my place.” I said to him. He nodded in agreement and we all left to go put our plans to action.
