Jack and I were resting in bed after the sweetest love-making session we had had one with one another in a long time. We were naked under our blanket-fort, breathing heavily against each other's neck. "T-That was amazing, baby," I heaved against his chest. He rubbed circles into my back with a smile.

"Amazing? That's all?" he kidded. I slapped his hip playfully.

"If there was a word that was more than amazing, I would use it, Mr. Ego." I pulled the blankets down, so I could see his handsome face through the moonlight. His face was so handsome; I couldn't stop admiring him.

"Alex, baby, I am so sorry for everything that has happened this passed year. I am so very sorry. If I could take everything back, I would."

"Do not worry about it, Jack," I assured, "I'll never lose my love for my skunk-boy." I laughed. Jack shoved me this time, pressing me against the bed. I looked up at him with lustful eyes. "Y-You, um, want to go for round two?" Jack couldn't help but smirk.

"Don't mind if I do." Before I could react, Jack pressed his lips to my neck and rubbed his hands down my stomach. Ah, here we go again.

The next morning, Jack and I sat at opposite ends of the living room with arms out in front of us. Miracle was in the center of us, and she was a giggling mess. We were teaching her how to walk for the millionth time since she turned half a year old. She crawled over to me first, and I stood her up on her legs. I held her up to guide her for the first few steps before I let her off. Miracle slowly stumbled over to Jack with one thud at a time. "Come on," Jack encouraged, "come to daddy! Come to daddy!" I laughed at Jack's little baby voice; it was so adorable. Miracle stumbled over to him, but a foot away from him, she fell to her knees with a yelp of laughter. Jack gasped playfully. "Uh oh! Baby down!" Jack pulled her up to mock what I had just done.

Miracle waddled over to me. Her arms were up in the air like she was cheering on a team. She got closer and closer to me without a trip or a stumble. Soon, I had her walk into my open arms. "Oh my God," I gasped, "she did it! She walked!" Jack jumped in mid-air -- literally. He ran to her, snatched her from my arms, and spun her around in the air.

"You did it, princess!" he declared. Miracle had the rosiest cheeks, and her giggle never faltered. I stood up with my fiancee and hugged his side to have us all in a trio embrace.

"She's.. she's growing up so fast." I sighed. Jack looked at me with a smirk.

"Aw, what's wrong, mommy? Feeling old?" I pouted at his words and poked his nose.

"Shut up, gramps. I am just so shocked that time is flying. She's already six months, going on seven. It doesn't seem like that long ago she was still in my belly." Jack rested his head on my shoulder as we admired the baby girl in his arms.

"She'll be one soon, y'know? That'll be nuts." His mentioning of her first birthday made me feel even more sick. I put my finger towards her face which alerted her to wrap her hand around it. Since she was so tiny still, her hand still made it around my finger, but it was starting to barely fit all the way around.

I couldn't help but think that I was officially the luckiest man on Earth.
