Hearing Alex say those words made my heart break. To be honest, I wasn’t doing so great as well, I had tried to end everything with ending my life about four times since I left. Every single fucking time Zack, Rian, or Cass would stop me. They would remind me about Miracle, and how I wouldn’t be able to see her grow up. Speaking of Miracle, I haven’t been back to the house to see her since I left, which broke my heart even more. It’s not that I didn’t want to, it’s that I couldn’t. Alex’s parents were always at the house when I would come over, and he would be at work. They would never let me in the house to see her, even if the fucking house was still in my name and I could easily call the police and get them removed. I also filed for custody over Miracle the week I left, but it hasn’t gone through the court yet.
I looked down at the crying boy behind the counter and sighed before jumping over it, ignoring the glares I got from other workers and people. I bent down to him and took his hands to move them away from his face/ He looked at me through puffy red eyes. “Alex. You are a great fucking Father. I know that. You always have been-” He cut me off.
“How come you haven’t came to see her?” He whispered. I looked at him confused.
“I go to the house three times a week to try and see her, your parents never let me.” It was his turn to look at me confused.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Did they really never tell him? What the fuck.
“Well, I can tell they never fucking told you.” I growled softly.
“Jack-” He cut himself off as he looked at my hand. I took a look at my hand and saw what he was looking at. I quickly pulled it away and hid it, and turned my head to look away from him. “Y-you n-never took off y-your ring.” I sighed and shook my head.
“Why would I? Why would I take off the ring that is the only link I have left to the person I’m completely and utterly in love with?” I asked quietly. Before I could speak anymore, Alex pressed his lips to mine, and I didn’t hesitate to do the same. I have missed this feeling so much. He pulled away and spoke.
“Please come home.” He whispered. I said a small ‘okay’ and nodded my head before placing my lips back on his.
“Alex! Quit fucking around and get to work!” I heard someone shout. I removed my lips from his and looked over, seeing what I’m guessing to be Alex’s boss. I rolled my eyes and stood up, bring Alex up with me.
“Fuck you! He quits!” I shouted at the guy as I grabbed Alex’s hand. Alex gasped and stood in front of me.
“Jack! I can’t quit! I need this job to live!” He said. I only smirked down at him.
“Not when I’m around. I’ll take care of you. The both of you.” I said, speaking about both him and Miracle.
