A Love Like War
I'm Sorry, Best Friend
I felt so stupid for what I said to Alex. He didn't deserve to hear something like that, and I knew he was sensitive. He never liked being picked on, for he was bullied so much in elementary school. What I said would probably never be forgiven by Alex, and I couldn't blame him. What made it worse was the fact that, right now, it was my fault Jack's fiancee, and Miracle's father, was gone. He was somewhere, but we didn't know where.
We searched around the lake. I took the right side while Jack took the left. I looked all over the shore line for him; he was nowhere to be found. I searched through the wooded area that skirted along the lines of the lake: nothing. Where did that motherfucker go? He couldn't have ran far; I mean, come on! He wasn't going to get up and leave to some far away place to get away ... right?
Jack and I met up once our hour was up. I hopped back into the car to see Jack already sitting in the front seat crying. I sighed, putting my head down. "Jack, I..."
"How could you say something like that to him? He didn't deserve what you fucking said. He didn't do that much wrong for you to wish that upon him. He drank and smoked; why would you tell him to disappear?!" he sobbed.
"I-It slipped out, Jack! I am so sorry! I promise, I'll make it up to you!"
"How will you make this up to me? How will you make it up to me when my boyfriend is out here somewhere, possibly dead, because you told him to disappear!" I shrunk back. He was right; how could I make up for this?
"Are we still looking for the night?"
"You're not, but I am. When I drop you off, I am going out to find my damn fiancee. Even if it takes all night or weeks... I want my fucking fiancee back."
