A Love Like War
Back To Work.

It was the next day, and it was currently four in the morning. I had just got out of the shower and put on my work uniform. As much as I didn’t want to leave my two beautiful loves, I had to. I had to go make the money that I needed to care for my loves. I walked into mine and Alex’s room and looked over to our bed. This was the first night in forever that he got a real nights sleep, and I was glad for it. Yeah, he woke up a few minutes to care for Mericle, but that’s a given.
I placed a kiss on Alex’s head and started to walk out of the room. Just as I was about to walk out, I heard little cries coming from behind me. I chuckled to myself and turned back around, walking back into the room and going over to the crib.
“Morning sweetheart.” I said softly as I picked her up. “Is someone in some need of food before Daddy leaves for work?” I asked her, knowing she couldn’t respond, but I still don’t care. She continued to let out little sobs, so I was taking that as a yes. “Come on babygirl. I’ll fix you a bottle before I leave.” I walked out of the room with her in my arms, and I made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Once I had the bottle perfectly prepared, I held Mericle in feeding position, and put it in her mouth. She began feeding as I rocked her softly in my arms. “Y’know Mericle, at first, your name was going to be Melody Autumn. But when your Father said the name Mericle Melody, I fell in love with it. You are our little Miracle, and no one can take that away from you. Got it?” I chuckled. “Oh, and when you get older. You are not allowed to have any boyfriends, or girlfriends, till you are the age of fifty. I’ll make sure of that. Any boy or girl try to touch my daughter, they have to get through me first.”
“Shouldn’t you have left for work by now?” I heard a voice say. I turned around in time to see Alex yawn and walk over to me. “Here, give her to me, you go to work.” I handed her over to him and placed a kiss on his lips, and one on her head.
“Don’t forget to come by on my lunch break, Matty wants to meet Mericle. Also, to make sure you don’t forget, I ordered you a Uber, and set the time for them to pick you up at 2:30pm. So make sure you two are ready by then, okay?” I asked.
“Alright. I’ll make sure we are there. See ya later babe.” He replied. I placed another kiss on both of them and made my way out of the house and over to my car, and started my way to work.
Once I got to work, I got out of my car and got my phone out of my pocket and sent Alex a quick text, since I forgot to tell him when I was still at home.
To: Alex
Forgot to tell you, after I get off work, we are going to Target to pick up paint for Miracles’ room. And then to other stores to get more stuff. You okay with that?

This is going to be my last update for the night. I need sleep, that way we can go on another chapter grind soon. xD
