Noughts and Crosses

Jacks POV

I was sat in lesson bored out of my mind.
Everyone stopped giving me shit and I didn't know what to do with myself now as I have no one to beat up or anything.
I haven't seen Alex for a while.
I've tried talking to Meggie but she just ignored me.

It was Wednesday when I finally saw Alex at school.
But something was up.
I went over to him.
"Alex?" I said and grabbed hold of his arm as he walked off.
"Get off me Jack." He said quietly and I removed my arm.
"Something is wrong Alex. Tell me what's wrong." I said as he walked off.
I followed him and he went to the field behind the school.
"Why? So you can use it against me so you can go and tell that terrorist group your in." He snapped and rolled himself a cigarette.
"I wouldn't use it against you Alex." I said.
He scoffed.
"I smell Bullshit ." he said.
I sat down and looked at him.
"I would say it was because your sat in shit but I'm not gonna bother." I said.
That brought a small smile on Alex's face.
"It's nothing Jack okay. It's probably better if you just stay away from me." He said sadly.
"Has Kyle been at you?" I asked.
He shook his head and looked down.
I knew Alex was a good liar and could easily lie his way out of trouble but his eyes always gave him away.
"Lies." I said.
"Fine. Yes he has and he said if I was to go anywhere near you he would kill me so its better if you just leave Jack." He said quietly.
The bastard.
"I'm not going anywhere okay. Don't listen to him he's a asshole." I said and looked up as I could sense we was being watched.
Kyle was stood at the bottom on the field.
"I'll see you later but right now I have stuff to do." I said and got up and went over to Kyle.

"You fucking stay away from him." I said and pushed him hard.
"You know full fucking well we have eyes on him Jack." He said and grabbed my arm and dragged me off somewhere.
"Get off me." I snapped and snatched my arm out of his hold and stood in front of him.
"I don't understand why the fuck we're watching him for we have his sister for fuck sake use her instead of him." I said.
"Look we have one on our side. You know he'll never join us so we have to use him in other ways." He said slyly.
"It makes me sick that your my brother sometimes." I said quietly.
"We've been after them for ages Jack! Now your all loved up to him your going to use him." He said and grabbed my arm and dragged me somewhere else.
"I'm not all loved up to him. He's a friend and has been for fucking ages! I am not going to use him for your sick games." I said.

We got to there we normally meet and he pushed me hard into the building.
"You ARE going to use him. You ARE going to get close to him. You are NOT going to aruge about this Jack." He said loudly.
"I AM going to aruge about this! You might be a cold heartless bastard but I'm not! You may have no friends but I do! Just because you treat people like fucking shit all the time does not mean I am going to do that!" I said loudly back.
"Ever since Lucy got killed you've literally been holding a grudge against everyone. More so the Noughts when it wasn't even the fucking Noughts who killed her! Your not the brother who would mess around and not giving shit about everything. I barely know who you are Kyle." I said and looked at him hard.
"Jack don't you dare bring her into this." He growled.
"You weren't even that close to her! Where the fuck was you when we fucking needed you Kyle?" I asked and got close into his face.
Normally Kyle does have the upper hand over me but when it changes for some reason I knew it scared him a little.
"You where fucking here! You was plotting against the Noughts when it was the fucking Crosses who killed her! Mum really needed us by her side but you couldn't even be there for your family. Thought family meant everything to you Kyle? Because that day just proves that family means fuck all to do." I snarled.
"Don't you DARE tell me family means nothing to me because it fucking does Jack! So what I messed up Jack! I regret it every single fucking day not being there for mum." He said loudly.
I was going to say something but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder.
"That's enough boys." Sir said in a low voice.
But I wasn't going to back down neither was Kyle and Sir knew that as well.
I might of been the youngest out of everyone in this group but I was quickly making my way up the ranks.
"Jack back off now!" Sir said loudly.
I backed off not before I punched Kyle hard round the face.
"The fuck was that for you fucking rat!" He shouted and got up into my face but Sir stood in the middle of us.
"Kyle my office now. Jack go and cool off before you do some serious damage." He said calmly.
"Your gonna fucking pay for this." Kyle snarled.
"Bring it on." I challenged.
Kyle was going to do something.
"MY OFFICE NOW! Don't make me ask again." He shouted the first part and then spoke quietly.
Kyle stormed off in one direction and I walked in the other direction.

I went outside and sat on the step and just thought about what they possibly wanted me to do.
I couldn't use Alex.
I wasn't a cold heartless bastard like everyone else in this group.
I heard someone step outside and sat next to me.
"Jack you really need to get the temper of yours under control." Sir said and started to smoke his cigarette.
I don't know why but it reminded me of Alex.
"It is under control. He just really annoyed me that's all." I said quietly.
"I know he's your brother and that but you shouldn't let him get to you." He said.
I had to stop myself from scoffing as I would of got a slap round the head and a good telling off if I did.
"He cares Jack. He just doesn't show it." He said and patted my shoulder and got up and left.
I just rolled my eyes and went back to thinking.

Kyle came out and said sorry so we've kissed and made up now.
We had a meeting so we didn't bother going home.
We was all stood round the table with all the plans and talking it over and making sure it was perfect.
Meggie was here and she was thinking you could see it on her face.
"I can think of a problem." She said and looked at us.
Meggie was the only girl and since me and Kyle are Crosses she was the only Nought.
"Speak then." Kyle said.
"Noughts arent meant to been seen or near Crosses." She said.
I thought about what she was saying.
"What's that meant to mean?" Kyle asked confused.
"Just use your fucking head Kyle." I said and stepped in as I think I was on the same page as Meggie.
"It means for this too work we need to find another Nought to plant them. Since we're all Crosses and we can't use their transportation we need another Nought to help Meggie. It can't be me or Kyle since we are classed as Crosses " I said.
Meggie looked up and smiled at me.
So I was on the same page as her.
"Well who the fuck can do that then? Since none of us actually have friends which are Noughts." Someone said.
I looked up at Meggie who looked at me.

I really didn't want to drag Alex into this but I think I might have to.
"I think I know someone." I said and looked at everyone.
"Don't you dare Jack!" Meggie said as a warning.
Since I was higher in the ranks than her I used it against her.
"Shut up Meggie." I snarled.
"You are not bringing him into this." She said and slammed her hand onto the table.
"Silence!" Sir said loudly.
"Carry on Jack." He said and looked at me.
"We use Alex. Yes we're watching him closely but for this too work he needs to be part of this." I said.
"You bastard Jack!" Meggie said loudly.
I cringed as I knew what I had just done was something Kyle would of done.
"Meggie shut your trap! You can't be seen with us. We need him, he's not 7 years old anymore. He doesn't need you too look out for him all the time." Kyle said.
"Can say the same for you and Jack." She growled.
"Really? Where the fuck do you think this came from?" He said and pointed to his black eye.
She looked at me but I looked down.
"I look out for him yeah because that's what older siblings do. But you need to learn to let him spread his wings. He can't live in your shadow all the time." Kyle said.
"Fine. I'll try and get him to come. If anything happens to him your all dead meat." She growled.
And she meant it as well.
She could use everything she knows about us against us and get us all killed at a click of a finger.
"Who gives you the right to throw threats across the table?" I growled.
Everyone looked at me.
Normally I stayed quiet when a argument between everyone happeñand just listen to them but today I wanted my voice to be heard and it was going to be heard.
"We can easily say you've been in a relationship with a Cross dagger! Because we know you have been. We can also say you was part of this group. Because after all it every man for himself. Now wouldn't daddy be pleased to know one of his children is a terrorist as you daggers call us. Remember we can always find his number and tell him that his little girl is plotting against him." I threatens and looked at her hard.
She was shocked, so was everyone else.
"You wouldn't dare." She challenged.
"Try me. I could always call Alex and tell him that it was you who planted the bomb in that house. I could tell him all sorts of things he doesn't know about you." I said in a low hard voice.
I walked round and got behind her and held a knife to her throat.
"I could also tell him how you killed someone in cold blood." I growled quietly in her ear.
"Can say the same to you you Nigga." She spat.
I back handed her across the face.
I stood over her.
"Unless you want to get killed I would shut that dagger mouth of yours." I snarled and walked back to where I was standing.

"Where the fuck did that come from Jack?" Kyle whispered in my ear.
"From watching and learning from the best." I said and looked at him.
He smiled and we went back talking about the game plan.
Everyone had gone part from me and Kyle since Sir wanted to talk to us about something.
"I'm impressed Jack. Maybe you and Kyle should fight more often." He said serious.
"I don't want anymore right hooks from him." Kyle said.
"How many more times do I have to say sorry." I said.
"Rule 10 Jack. Never say sorry. It's a sign of weakness." Sir said.
Yes this group have a set of rules we follow. We respect the Nought rules since we can't get busted.
"Can we trust her?" Kyle asked.
"I don't know. Jack since you are closest to Alex we need you to get him into this group. You also keep an eye on the dagger bitch as well something isn't adding up with her." Sir said.
"As you wish." I said and turned around and went home since I was tired and needed to think of a plan on how to get Alex into the group.

By the time I got half way home Kyle had caught up with me.
"I'm proud of you Jacky." He said and put an arm over my shoulder.
He only called me Jacky when he was proud of me or feeling some other emotion other than fuck everyone .
I smiled he rarely proud of me and it was nice when he said he was.
We walked home quietly and went to bed as soon as we got in as it was 3 in the morning and I had school in a few hours.
"When do you want Alex to join us?" I asked as I crawled into my mattress.
"As long as it before we go in we don't care." Kyle said and was flat out asleep.
So that was in a months time.
I have to gain more of his trust and not break it.
I have to tell him about the group and get him to come as well.
So much to plan and think about.
