Alex's POV

I was sat down the beach with my guitar and was thinking about what happened last night.
How did Meggie know about the bomb?
How did Jack find me?
I must of been thinking hard as I didn't notice someone was sitting next to me until the spoke.

"Still playing this bloody thing?" Jack asked and took the guitar of me and started to play it quietly.
"Yeah. Helps keep me sane." I said quietly and looked out to the see.
"Know that feeling." Jack said quietly.
I looked at him.
"Remember that day?" Jack asked quietly and joined me looking out to the sea.
I knew which day he was on about.

*11 years ago*

"Jack thats cheating." The older one said.
"No its not. You told me to hide so i did." The younger one aruged back.
"But i didnt mean hide in the sand." The older one huffed and sat down.
"I have sand in my pants." The younger one moaned and sat next to the older one.
The older laughed.
"Wanna try that thin which grown ups do?" The older asked looking at the younger.
The younger one looked at older one confused at what he was one about.
"You know. Kiss each other." He said quietly.
The younger on moved closer to the older one.
"Has Jacky gone all shy?" The older one asked.
The younger one nodded.
He chuckled and kissed the younger one on the lips.
Which the younger one returned.

*Present Day*

Alex's POV

"Yeah I remember it. You got sand down your pants." I chuckled.
"Swear I still have sand in places where it shouldn't be because of that day." Jack chuckled as well.
"Guess Jacky isn't shy anymore?" I asked and looked at Jack.
"No. A lot has changed since we was little hasn't it." He said sadly.
"Yeah it has. I'm sorry about Lucy. I know its late and everything but I know how close you where to her." I said and looked back to the sea.
"It's fine." Jack said quietly.
We sat in silence for a while which meant my brain was working over time and it was only a matter of time before I have to open my mouth.

"How did you know where I was last night Jack?" I asked.
"I was walking and I saw the house blow up and you on the floor." He said.
"Your lying Jack. You are a hopeless liar." I said.
"Fine I'm lying but I'm not going to tell you the truth as it'll put you in more danger than what you're in already." He said and got up.
"What do you mean by that Jack? You don't have to go." I said and looked up at him.
"Speak to Meggie about it. I have to, they'll be looking for me. I'll see you around school Alex." He smiled and ran off.
I sighed and picked the guitar up and slowly went indoors.

"Alexander where have you been?" Mother asked as I walked into the kitchen.
"Down the beach if you really care that much." I said and got a glass of water
and went upstairs.
"Meggie you better open this fucking door right now!" I said loudly and banged on the door.
"Shut up Alex." Meggie said on the other side of the door and opened it.
I barged in and looked at her as she shut the door.
"What do you want Alex?" She sighed.
"How did you know about the bomb?" I asked.
"I don't know what your talking about." She said and sat on her bed.
"Yes you fucking do! If you didn't know about it then how come you got me out before it blew the fucking place up?" I said and looked at her hard.
She looked down.
I went over and sat on the bed.
"Meggie tell me what's wrong." I said quietly.
"I can't say Alex. I want to but I can't. Being under the same roof as you I've put you in more danger than you should be in." She said and looked at me.
"What you even talking about? If I'm in danger then so are you." I said confused on what she was on about.
"Not as much as what you are Alex." She said quietly.
I was really fucking confused now.
"Meggie what are you doing?" I asked.
"I can't tell you Alex. Get that into you thick head. The more I tell you the more they'll want you." She said and covered her mouth with her hands.
"Who will want me?" I said in a low voice.
She sighed and pulled her hair in frustration.
"The Crosses." She said quietly.
"Why?"
"I don't fucking know Alex! Do you want me to march in on one of their meeting and say oh why do you want my little brother because it doesn't work like that Alex!" She said.
That's what she was hiding.
"Your one of them? You're going behind my back to join a load of Niggas? Why? To get back at them? You are their favorite Meggie! Why the fuck would you do this too me?" I said loudly.
"Alex sh." She said quickly.
"You want me to sh! No Meggie! How the fucking hell can you do this?" I said.
"Alex, Alex listen too me okay just listen to me..." She said but I stopped her.
"No I will not listen too a blanket worshipper." I said and stormed out her room.

I pulled my shoes on and stormed downstairs.
"Alexander where you going? You have stuff to do." Mother said.
"Away from here. Don't act like you fucking care! No of you give a shit so leave me the fuck alone!" I shouted.
Dad came out his office.
"What's with all the shouting? I'm trying to have a important meeting." He said.
"That's all you give a shit about! Meeting after fucking meeting! Don't worry about your fucking kids or nothing!" I shouted not giving a shit who was in his office.
"Don't you dare speak like that young man! Get out of this house and cool down!" He shouted at me.
"Get fucked old man." I snarled and stormed out the house.

I didn't know where to go so I went down to the beach and just sat there.
I stayed there until it got dark and the tide was coming in so I got up and went and sat in the flowers like I normally do when I couldn't go to the beach.
It pissed the gardeners off so it was more of a reason to sit in the flowers.
I thought long and hard about it.
About everything which was said today.
Meggie was part of a Cross gang.
Which meant Jack was possibly part of it as well.
They planted the bomb and watched it blow the house up.
Mother and dad didn't have a clue who their children was.
I felt lost and alone for the first time in ages.

It was getting cold so I climbed up the thing which the roses was climbing up and got into my room that way.
I was sat on my bed doing school work while listening to my music and watching some shit on TV.
Someone knocked on my door.
"Fuck off." I said.
"Alex let me in." Meggie said.
"Why should I let a Blanket lover in my room." I said.
"Alex please just let me fucking in!" She said and banged my door.
I got of my bed and opened the door.
"Get fucked Meggie. I want nothing to do with you." I growled.
I knew that hurt her loads and it hurt me a lot as well.
"Alex please. Let me explain." She said quietly and tears slowly started to fall.
"Why should I Meggie? You should of come to me! I'm your brother I thought you trusted me! But like normal everyone I'm close to fucks me over so no you can't explain to me. Your not my sister anymore. I want nothing to do with you!" I said and pushed her hard and slammed the door in her face.
"Alex please! Don't be like this." She said crying and banging on my door.
"FUCK OFF MEGGIE!" I screamed.
She stopped banging on my door and I heard her move away from my door.
I went and sat on my bed. But I could sit still so I went outside on the balcony and paced around it and smoked a load of weed hoping to calm me down but it didn't work.

I was sat on the floor and was looking at the stars since everyone was in bed sleeping and I couldn't sleep.
"Alex!" Someone said and threw something.
I got up and looked who it was.
It was Jack.
"What do you want?" I asked.
I heard him climb the rose thing.
He stood in front of me then sat down.
"Meggie told me you two have had a huge fight." He said quietly.
"Let me guess she want you to fix the broken pieces." I said sarcastically.
"No she doesn't. She wanted me to check on you. She knows what your like Alex and she doesn't want you to get any more hurt than what you are already." He said quietly.
"Well its too late for that Jack since the two people I care about are into blowing up things which can kill people." I spat.
"Look she got the choice to join them. I didn't Alex." He said.
"You can always walk away from it Jack." I said.
"Once your in Alex the only way your out of it is if your dead." He said and looked at me seriously.
I looked down.
"Look at me Alex." He said quietly.
I looked back up at him.
"You have to understand that she didn't say anything to you was because she wants to protect you. They are evil people Alex. She doesn't want you to fall into the same trap as she did. She thinks your to innocent to be involved in this..." Jack said but I stopped him. "Innocent. I'm not innocent." I said.
Jack chuckled.
"I know your not innocent." He winked.
I smiled.
" And how do you know that?" I asked and sat forward.
"I've heard things." He smirked.
"When was the last time I shagged someone then?" I asked to see if what he was saying was true.
"Um. 2 weeks ago." He said and looked at me serious.
That was true as well.
"See what I mean. We have people watching you Alex. Every little thing you do we are watching. You are not safe. We all know about that argument you had with your sister and parents." He said.
"Gee now I have to look over my shoulder all the time now then?" I asked.
"Pretty much. But don't worry I'll have your back." He said and stood up.
"Where you going?" I asked.
"Home. Kyle will thinking something is up and will come looking and we don't want that." He said.
I forgot about Kyle.
"How is the grumpy shit then?" I asked.
"He's good." Jack said.
A really simple answer.
"See you at school Alex. Make up with your sister. She's crushed about the things you said." He said and climbed down the the the drain pipe on the other side.
I watched him run into the darkness.

I walked through my room and went on knocked on Meggie door.
"Meg let me in." I said quietly.
I heard her move and open the door.
"What Alex?" She whispered.
I pulled her into a hug.
"I'm sorry for what I said. I shouldn't of said them things." I said quietly and kissed the top of her head.
"You'll always be my sister." I said quietly and held her tighter.
"Thank-you Alex." She whispered into my chest since I was taller than her.
"Watch a movie in bed with me?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Come on then." I said and we went into my room.
She climbed into bed and I put Netflix up and climbed into bed as well.
We found a film and she was fast asleep quicker than anything.
" Just come back for me." I whispered into her hair and kissed her head and watched the movie.
